@@Love2DrawManga Oooh, Becca. How you've changed over the years! Back then, your comics were all greyscale. But now, we get to see your current webcomic in TECHNOCOLOOOR!!!

Man, I didn’t realize it’s been years since you started. I’ve been here ever since your name was “How2DrawManga” You were my inspiration growing up, and was the reason why I loved drawing. The other tutorials was too complicated for my child mind, but you made it so much fun! I remember watching you around Elementary, and now I’m currently in the middle of University, and I’m still watching you! Remember, you have so many people supporting you, whether they may be from the start or just new, it doesn’t matter because we all love you equally.
16:53 “Sparkly, magical stuuuuff” that had me cracking up 😂 also the silly comics made me chuckle, especially the socializing one! It’s so amazing to see how far you’ve come and how much your art has improved. Keep up the good work, Rebekah😊❤️
Another thing to keep in mind is not to spend too much time planning. I always end up spending waaaaay too much time planning, and I end up losing the motivation I had. So its good to keep a balance. You can do some of the planning as you go. Also, this video is making me feel like making comics again, so thank you! ♡
I personally am also trying to find a balance as well. I’ve always been a freehand artist, so I thought it was silly and stupid to make a sketch first if I’ve always just done freehand, I thought I could just freehand a comic and not write a script, because I thought to myself “well I know my story, can’t believe other people can’t bother remember their own story XD quotes but then, I actually started making comics It’s very gratuitous but it’s very rewarding, I’ve been on several hiatuses but during those hiatus is, I’ve come to the realization that, I in fact do need to write a script, as one of the things that made it so exhausting was the fact that I was trying to focus on my freehand drawing, would you have to focus extra hard because you’re free handing the drawing, and then also have to think about the story and I want my brain properly stimulated, but then it gets overstimulated, and then so I make the panels over complicated and the dialogue doesn’t make sense because I’m trying to make sure does human as possible but I’m thinking about too many things at once. Eventually realize that yes, you can keep the entire story inside your head and that is completely possible, It’s not so much about forgetting it or not remembering it, it’s more about remembering and retrieving too many of your ideas at once. It makes the process of drawing out your comic or manga a lot more streamlined if you have settled on the plot and wrote it down, so you can so great your brain power and where it’s going to at one time. I’m easily exhausted So while I can easily freehand a drawing for the sake of drawing, doing that for a manga page isn’t nearly as easy for me. This is because I need to conscientiously think about my story, my plans for it, may be being flexible and changing aspects of it, and also think about exactly how I want the drawings to look. Basically, I’m trying to keep track of two or three things at once and try to make it all aligned perfectly which is very complicated.
I remember as a kid wishing I could buy your comic 'I wanna be a magical girl' XD but I couldn't since I didn't think it was possible from the country where I'm living. You've improve so much!!! 💕✨
The way your art style changes makes your characters look like they got older and more mature over the progress of the story :0 I love that fact omg! ( even tho the plot happens over a few months to a year, in my eyes they mature a lot)
Watching this made me realise that I'm now the age you were when you released "I Want To Be A Magical Girl", and I've been watching you since even before then! I remember when I won one of your milestone raffles and I shared some of my amateur comics (drawn in MS Paint) with you over email - this video is reminding me of all the mistakes I made haha ^^' Maybe I should try and finish a comic now like you did, too! ^u^
Holy crap, that was a good one. I will say the main thing that stuck out to me mostly with your improvement is not only the art has improved but I've noticed that nearly every page had some form of dialogue like if a character was by themself they did talk to themselves a lot and describing what they were doing. But your comics now are a masterclass, nowadays when a scene is heavy there will be no dialogue sometimes and you get the scene hang which adds to the suspense or seriousness of the scene soooooo good!! Also can I say that 1. Your short comics like the 2 panel long ones are freaking hilarious lol like they made me genuinely laugh so it would be cool to see how you would do them now and 2. A video on your light novel process would be a great idea and I would absolutely love to hear it cuz I've tried comics, so light novels would be a fun process to learn :) 10:40 was like patient zero for MNDN lol But that's it if you read all this.... sorry lol but overall a really great video, I like these one where you show the process of a project while you just talk it's really nice!
My old comics were just gratuitous violence and anything that could result in fights. 😂 I think I just loved drawing fights. I think learning to draw ruined my fun in drawing comics.🤔 When I didn't know how to draw, I had a lot of fun imagining and drawing the story, the fights, the characters, the very funny scenes. Now that I know how to draw comics well and write stories, I'm terribly lazy just imagining all the work I would have 🤣
11:54 - 12:08 , a really good example is Haikyu, for example on how bland the colors turn out to be on the courts in the anime after season 4 1st part and how normal the colors look in the first 1-4 seasons of the anime, and how much the structures of the characters change in the manga
You really inspire me because I am both homeschooled, and like drawing. And to see that you made your hobbie work, and people love what you create, that's a real inspiration! I'd like to start a comic one day since I enjoy both writing short story's and drawing. It seems like a lot of work, but more importantly, a whole lot of fun! I totally feel you on your comment about self insert characters. I’ve noticed that I do that a lot too, although not in openly obvious way? I guess that’s kind of purposeful, for example, I have a story about a young man that I started writing when I was 16 and going through a lot of anxiety and depression and excruciating loneliness, and I wrote his character based off of that. The difference is though, he is male and his hobby is tinkering with technology, instead of drawing. I haven't watched the video yet but i already know it's going to be good and my oh my how much your art has changed you've improved so much and i wish to do the same your videos get me so modevated to draw keep up the good work becca 🙂💞
I made one comic when I was a kid. I remember I called it "the ford" and it was supposed to be some supernatural story. I was very inspired by my older friend who used to make mangas and an anime I used to watch (think it was naruto) lol I never finished it. It was hand drawn on a bunch of papers I stapled together. I regret throwing it away since it would be cool to look back at it now lol. I would love to make a comic again but I am slow at drawing It would be nice to see you redraw a part of these or something like that
I recently brought out my old comics I had made as a teen and up and I cringed at my lack of story telling... but my kids loved it! They laughed and asked if they could keep reading them! Also I love 'my next door neighbors' and would love to own a physical copy...just throwing it out there...😉
😂I loved you narrating your comics! Also, I noticed you are using a sort of chalky(?) lineart and coloring process for your webcomic! I also enjoy that look to drawings!
7:18 THIS IS SO ME RN. Like I had a basic idea but when it came down to writing the chapters and stuff down for later use(aka making it a comic) , I could only get so far. When I was younger I could write stories in a day give or take... But now(I'm a teen) I can't 💀
Crazy enough, in october I had a comic that I made where this little girl gets nice and bad comments on her post, and the one at 8:20 reminded me of it o: You give me so much inspiration that I always feel the need to draw along whenever I watch your videos!
I just posted my first comic a couple days ago. It took over two weeks! But it was worth it cause I'm making another one. Hearing you gives my inspiration!😁🧀
This makes me think about my comics too. I really wanted to be an author for children's books, and I have a comic called "Bunk the skunk" that I want to get published. The story's about the adventures of a skunk, and he has to deal with social pressure of having a skunk smell and everyone fearing that he will spray them. He lets hedgehog children stay with him until their parents come back, and he's really sweet! also I relate to the thing you said about being in your 20s and loving shows made for 7 year olds! I LOVE kids shows!
7:08 This is such a huge mood, except with books instead of comics. I would have an idea, write the first chapter, and then abandon it. My old Macbook Air is a treasure trove of unfinished stories, as well as my family's clunky old Toshiba that runs on Windows 7.
*oh…that was fun* also I do relate, I never finish my comics, I’m trying to get better at that though because you inspired me to keep going! Thank you for that, still though that was *interesting* ALSO A REALLY SMALL SNEAK PEEK LETS GOOOOO

I have watched your videos for a WHILE (back when you were learn2drawmanga) and i can say you were one of the first people i watched while starting my art career. I always loved your drawings even when you were less experienced and even now i watch (listen ig) your comics in awe. You were on of the first people that i have watched but i certainly haven't stopped. Thank you for all your help! Now as i start making my own wbettoons, i sit back and think how much your work has changed my way of drawing when it comes to chibi and even the styling of your panels.
It was so nice seeing all these comics in one vid! I’ve been watching since like 2017-2018, so I know most of these! I loved the short mini comics and hearing the concepts behind your works. I really want to buy all your books, hopefully I will! I want to be a magical girl sounds super relatable! I have a story like it that I wrote when I was 12 that cringe it now, but I think it is cute. I can’t wait for the next episode of my next-door neighbours and your next video
I also make comics but I always plan out the story and work for days and nights to finish the comic so I could go to the next. So far I've only made 2 full comics all colored in and everything
Watching you improve through the years is really amazing! You have improved so much and I’m so proud to see how far you have come q q Your art inspires me everyday and it’s all thanks to you that I didn’t give up on digital art. Thank you so for always working so hard for us
Hi I'm nine years old I have a hard time doing manga because not many people think kids can't draw like adults, but your videos helped me a lot, thank you for That.
That’s OK! I first started drawing monger when I was your age! Trust me, the only way to progress is to have confidence in yourself! I know that’s not always easy, but just remember, look for the best parts of your artwork, and ignores peoples negative comments :-) The brain naturally wants to learn and improve its skills, so at least in my opinion it’s unhelpful to conscientiously look for problems in your artwork. I’m sorry that people have imposed adult standards on your artwork, usually it’s pretty impressive if a child is able to draw anything at all by most of society standards, so it’s unfortunate you’ve had to hear people say stuff to you
so, I'm pretty good at writing and I wanted to write a book, but I never do because I can never decide what story to write or I'm always doing something else. this video has inspired me to finally start write! (yay)
.... I was instantly attracted to Brayson and now I wanna read this comic... Also I really love your art style :D both your old style and current style
8:50 I find it hilarious how she spelt pencil “pencile” mainly because I drew and created stories like these when I was very little and all my stories had hilarious grammar and spelling mistakes 😂 (I always hand drew in notebooks)
@2:45 If I'm 11 now and I was born on 2011 and you were 15 during the time, I think that makes you around 26! I also love how you finished an entire page in the first comic because I never finish and it kinda sucks going: alright I'm done even though I'm not. You got this lore going through your brain but you can't make it come to life with drawing the action. @3:04 This is very relatable to most artists I believe. You make something that looks like squiggles but it's a story board only YOU can understand. @3:49 Did you predict my thoughts and current life, Love2DrawManga? 👀 @4:36 Unfortunately this is true because I did do this because I was trying to catch up to your comic making skills in My next door neighbors. I really love how you put effort in the comic to make it good quality even if it takes long
I have some very long term plans for making a comic that my sister and I came up with. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to practice making comics, nothing I’ve ever tried to start looks right. My art is pretty good I’d say, but when I start trying to make a little comic everything goes out the window…
The advice you give in this video is very helpful for me :) well I don't make comics but i wanted to start makeing gacha stories so i started on a very big project and because i keep getting frustrated i stoped. And now watching this video made me realize that i should of started something small first so thank you fpr telling me that :) Ps: sorry if i jumbled up or mesed up spelling something

I was just hoping you’d make this video! Your art progress for my next door neighbors looks so great! ^^
I would love to make a comic again but I am slow at drawing
It would be nice to see you redraw a part of these or something like that
I love to see creators cringe at their old art because it makes me look at my old art and cringe
Sophie was a girl who didn’t have a dream or passion.
My immediate thought: Mafuyu.
Backgrounds make me cry
(Perspective is the reason why I’m failing)
I didn't realize how much ur at changed with my next door neighbors till u showed them together u have improved so much its amazing bravo👏👏👏
Aww! Thank you!
lol this just remined me when i was young i used to make square boards which always started with a stick figure waking up in the morning
Not me repeating
*SPARKLY MAGICAL STUFF*
I recently brought out my old comics I had made as a teen and up and I cringed at my lack of story telling... but my kids loved it! They laughed and asked if they could keep reading them!
Also I love 'my next door neighbors' and would love to own a physical copy...just throwing it out there...😉
😂I loved you narrating your comics! Also, I noticed you are using a sort of chalky(?) lineart and coloring process for your webcomic! I also enjoy that look to drawings!
Aw thanks! Glad you like it!
7:18 THIS IS SO ME RN. Like I had a basic idea but when it came down to writing the chapters and stuff down for later use(aka making it a comic) , I could only get so far. When I was younger I could write stories in a day give or take... But now(I'm a teen) I can't 💀
Crazy enough, in october I had a comic that I made where this little girl gets nice and bad comments on her post, and the one at 8:20 reminded me of it o:
You give me so much inspiration that I always feel the need to draw along whenever I watch your videos!
Your art is improved so much over the years❤
Also I hope I can make comics like you do some day!!❤
*oh…that was fun* also I do relate, I never finish my comics, I’m trying to get better at that though because you inspired me to keep going! Thank you for that, still though that was *interesting* ALSO A REALLY SMALL SNEAK PEEK LETS GOOOOO
7:14 kind of my porbelm rn, i feel like i have okay ideas but then i just cant find myself planning anything 😭
You’ve really come so far. It’s so cool!
Aw thanks!
I think your old comics are really cute!! They’re better than mine that’s for sure 🥲
You have given me inspiration to finish drawing my comic "1823 in another world"
I stopped cause I can just vaguely draw chibis.
Sounds cool, whats it about?
@@hyacinthseraa_ a girl who created a time machine to go back in time to the industrial age for better and more accurate research. The time machine malfunctioned and it fell through a dimensional whole which sent to the industrial age in another world, like an isekai, so now she needs to get back, in the most interesting creative way possible for the readers not to get bored. That's the whole comic.
@@laandafam4565 would totally read it. Its up to u if u continue tho, i also quit at least 3 of my so called mangas just cuz idk where the story was going
@@hyacinthseraa_ just keep going and take inspiration from animes you watch
@@laandafam4565 thanks :)
I actually got “I want to be a magical girl” last year and had a really great time reading it!
I absolutely love the silly little comics, they're honestly hilarious and genius
Aww!! Thank you so very much!!
I loved this video! I’m still learning how to draw, you’ve inspired me a lot! ❤
Omg!! This just shows how much youve improved!!! Amazing~~!
I also make comics but I always plan out the story and work for days and nights to finish the comic so I could go to the next.
So far I've only made 2 full comics all colored in and everything
Are they available anywhere? If so where
As an artist, this is singlehandedly the most relatable video I've ever seen
tbh this kinda inspires me to make a comic of my own, already started a lil but this gives me more motivation :]
12:02
Take tpn for example
Manga vol 1 vs vol 2 VERY DIFF
Same for the anime! Ep 1 vs Ep 12
Your art style improved so much!
Aw thanks!! 💖
Watching you improve through the years is really amazing! You have improved so much and I’m so proud to see how far you have come q q Your art inspires me everyday and it’s all thanks to you that I didn’t give up on digital art. Thank you so for always working so hard for us
You have inspired me to work on improving my own art skills! Thank you! 😁
Note. : They look like actual, real, people! I’m so happy!! 😭😄
16:53 🎶Sparkly, magical stuuuuuuff🎶
That first page was wayyy better than what I could do at 15.
I have like the opposite problem than you do, I make entire storylines and characters but I don't make any comics or actually write anything lol
Watching your videos also inspired me to work on my own stories and comics
Hi I'm nine years old I have a hard
time doing manga because not many people think kids can't draw like adults, but your videos helped me a lot, thank you for That.
Also I really love your art style :D both your old style and current style
great video and one day in years I will be doing my own webtoon which it will be fun but I should master my digital art first.
For your next "I draw myself into anime."video you should do K-ON. Love you videos 💙
@4:36 Unfortunately this is true because I did do this because I was trying to catch up to your comic making skills in My next door neighbors. I really love how you put effort in the comic to make it good quality even if it takes long
I found yu bestay heuheeuehheehhe
@@makiinoshi_ yes... COCOGOAT POWERS
@@Ylaine_DeMarley heueheueh but ok ill edit the reply lol
Tina from Bob's Burgers when she wrote a story about Aunt Gayle. Gayle: I'm sorry I'm really shy.
What app is this??
Clip studio paint
10:49 When I saw Doris I was DYING 😂so funny 🤣 13:33 I’m dying AGAIN!!!
maybe you can make a video all about the comic in the chapter "I wanted to finish this one!
18:27 your expression is so cuteeeTWT
I have some very long term plans for making a comic that my sister and I came up with. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to practice making comics, nothing I’ve ever tried to start looks right. My art is pretty good I’d say, but when I start trying to make a little comic everything goes out the window…
New subscriber! I watched the video where you drew urself in some animes and I loved it so new sub!
The advice you give in this video is very helpful for me :) well I don't make comics but i wanted to start makeing gacha stories so i started on a very big project and because i keep getting frustrated i stoped. And now watching this video made me realize that i should of started something small first so thank you fpr telling me that :)
Ps: sorry if i jumbled up or mesed up spelling something
your really creative and your really good at drawing
Why are those so good?!😭
I love the sound effects! 😁
YOU ARE MY CHILDHOOD UA-camR AAAHH
