Thank you Murray and Gerry, seemed a tad steep 😁 always love the banter between you both, love the weather, you never know what you are going to get from hour to hour, loved the route it gave some lovely mountain views.
As a wee boy...so early 60's I remember going to watch a car hillclimb on the old Rest and Be Thankful road!...a certain Mr J Stewart from Dumbuck was competing! That's a steep pull Murray, great video...as always cheers Alistair 👍
Nobody could ever accuse you and Gerry me taking the easy route Murray! This looked unbelievably steep, and not even rewarded with the views, but you still kept the banter and the laughs coming. A testament to your true love of hiking and mountaineering, even in the clouds! SEs, PPs and JBs, if you know you know, brilliant😂. Thanks for taking us along, more colour coordination of the steaming boots team in future videos please! 😊👌. Shell and Pete
Scotch eggs pork pies and jelly babies brilliant banter between the two of you plus lovely scenery what more could you want Murray apart from decent weather but can't have everything. Looking forward to your next adventure. ATB.
Eventually saw the old man's face: mouth wide open, pointy long nose and flat cap slipping back in the wind. Murray and Gerry have the familiar and loved faces we have no trouble recognising.
Another great one mate. I just finished the Cumbria way on Friday fueled by irn bru jb which I managed to get online. My trail buddy (a glaswegian) was very impressed with the JB. Roll on Skye in September.I will be rewatched your Skye vids as homework
How can Gerry say there’s nowt classy about The Rest & Be Thankful! SEs & PPs all round ! Great looking ridge on the descent. Thank you for yet another adventure.
Wow..another steep hike. You really have to watch your step on the well worn trail as it looks like a quick drop in some places It’s too bad there was rain at the end I really enjoyed this video..take care and one day I’ll try a Scotch egg! 🇨🇦❤️
Amazing how you can experience small pockets of calm on exposed mountains. Nice that you avoided the worst of the rain, especially on ascent. The important part is time with a friend. Cheers, and ATB!
So surprised and delighted to see you and say hello yesterday. We really enjoy your videos and all the wonderful adventures you share. Keep up the good work. It is really appreciated. Joanne and Gareth
Another great video Murray. Great to see you and Gerry out again. The good old rest and be thankful, more landslide. I wonder how long it will take to repair before the next one. A nice easy climb for both of you. Scotch Eggs, pork pies and jelly babies, what more do you need. Catch you on the next one mate.
I love these off the beaten track videos, they remind me of the many days I spent route finding up steep slopes that weren't described in minute detail in guide books. Not every great hill day is on obvious paths in perfect visibility :) Great banter as always, not sure about the old man's face though!
NH State commemorative quarter was Old Man of the Mountain...until a rockslide and it wasn't. Your coin will be Scotch egg on the Munro. Love the coordinated outfits, you two. 😅
An excellent video as usual. It's always a laugh listening to the banter between you guys. Fantastic photography and fantastic scenery. I live in NZ and have traveled to Scotland numerous times over the years. I enjoy your adventures and always Google the mountains and areas you visit to find the exact geographic locations. Thanks for your work Murray.
Cracking adventure mate. I've driven past those hills so many times and never been up them....shame on me! As for podcasts.....for sheer entertainment "British Scandal", science "Infinite Monkey Cage", music "Rockonteurs" and if you are into F1 "Missed Apex". I wouldn't survive with out my Audible subscription though....nothing makes than very long journey back to homeland more enjoyable that a good audio book.
Loved it Murray. We done Beinn an Lochan for the first time last summer on a scorcher hot day. we went up the ridge and continued on down the grassy way which turned out a complete nightmare. Its a great mountain. Thanks for sharing
Well done guys 👏 1 classy mountain on Gerry’s doorstep i believe ⛰️ great banter as per normal and a tough route up think I’ll stick to the way yous came down 😁
Nice one Murray ,we love the Rest and be Thankful, on our way to our favourite place Inverary and have also used the old military road nice to see you both having fun, stay safe
I wondered if there was a back route up, definitely less windy!!!.....I was there Thursday last week after a bacon roll at RABthankful. Parked in layby near Butter Bridge. over the stream and up the north ridge line to the top. Extremely windy but was blue skys all day .... was brilliant with amazing views all around. Love the A Alps. ...great vid Murray!!
Nice one Murray, how steep was the ascent route, compared to Stob a' Choin? It's good to see a video of the circular route on a fav hill, will keep it in mind, Arran's Old Man of Tarsuinn is still the best though! 😄
Always enjoy your adventures with Gerry, top craic. When your on such steep ground i'd be interested to know what your heart rate gets up to as i know when im out on the hills i often check mine via my Garmin Fenix watch & on occasions it gets up into the mid 160bpm which seems pretty high when at rest it is only about 55bpm. It may be ok but then again im maybe about ready to drop,im getting to a dodgy age being 57 now 😂 ..thanks for another great video Murray.
Good to see you guys on the hill Murray - glad we didn’t go down the way you came up - route finding would have been very difficult and it looked very steep - was pouring with rain and clagged in when we got to the summit so just came down the main ridge.
A great video to come back to after out day in the Arrochar Alps. We too chose the steep way, going straight up from Succoth to A' Chroist before crossing over to Beinn Narnain. Was it better than sticking to Gerry's route? Well, it was prettier than the zigzag forestry route but we were very glad to return to paths on the descent! Thank-you for all you share with us. Perhaps we shall do Beinnn an Lochain in a day or two....
@@ScotlandsMountains We took one look up close at that direct ascent of Beinn an Lochain and decided that you and Gerry are mad, bad and dangerous to know (in a nice way). We've had enough of big 'uns and opted for Ben Donich today - delightful.
Murray do ye ever find with a van you start off it's all nice and tidy everything packed away . Then when ye wake up it's like it's been in a tumble dryer all night ? No matter how hard I try it's like the wizard of Oz tornado next morning 😂
I will check that podcast out. One I recommend is Neil Oliver’s love letter to the British isles. Plenty there to keep you going on long journeys and in the tent.
Some mighty slopes, always good to see yourself and Gerry having some banter. Have you got a new camera? Seemed to have a different feel to some footage. As always very enjoyable Murray. Oh speaking of podcasts I hope you would join me for a chat on mine. Let’s create Let’s talk 😁👍
Thanks Mali - got a relatively newish action camera - I will be talking /moaning about cameras in an upcoming video (stay tuned!!lol). Would love to join yuou for a chat on your podcast Mali too :) Let me know if you are up for it Thanks for watching ATB Murray

Great Glen Coe video with Northern Lights. Looking forward to part two
Thanks for another great video Murray. Lots of banter with Gerry which is always very entertaining 😀. Keep them coming! 🥳⛰️🚶♀️
