Indeed! Not much of a nine-inch-nails fan, a favorite line about music comes from Trent Reznor (sp?). There is a video "about" Johnny Cash's version of Trent's "Hurt," with Trent sort of shrugging after hearing the audio, but later seeing JC's video and thinking "this isn't my song anymore." Still don't know if he meant it now belongs "to the ages" or to Johnny, but I'd say it's a deep compliment when the world "takes" a writer's song from them.
When I first watched it I thought "alright it sounds nice" but then as it got stronger and all the voices came in.. I cried a lot. And every time I watch it, I cry again. It gives me a feeling so pure and just kind of WHOLE.. It gives me hope for everything. Thank you so much for doing it! ❤️
You know that's funny, because, the first time I've heard "Fix You" by Coldplay, I thought the same. Until the change comes in. I guess that's just part of this song, the progression. All the verses come first, reflecting about problems, things happening, things tearing out your soul, the song starts very focused and reflected, and then comes the powerful message.
I have no idea who you guys are or where you are from, but this is one of the best choral versions of any song I have ever heard, ever. It's completely beautiful.
It was such an honor to sing under Scott's direction back in high school.. Although it was just for three days, it is still one of the most memorable experiences in my life. He taught me how happy you can be just by singing and you don't have to be good at it. He always told students to keep a smile on when singing which made the singing voices much brighter and peaceful just as this song. I would move to Edmonton just to join Kokopelli and have a chance to sing under his direction again..
Asking for the arrangement to this masterpiece is like asking a mother to sell off her child. Clearly what we have witnessed here is a labour of love. If you can't see that, no one can help you! What these people have done is opened the gates of heaven ... that feeling you get towards the end ... thats God touching your souls.
We sung this song last night in Saskatoon with the Kokopelli folks. They're awesome and friendly, including Scott :) It was truly heartfelting performing this song in front of people with them. I felt like i did something special. Oh God, that one night is one of my best experience in my life. I met lots of good people. Hats off to the kokopelli choir and staff!
Im watching this video whenever Im having a bad day. Thank you Coldplay for this phenomenal song and thank you to this choir who made it more beautiful! Im ok now.
I don't know why I always cry listening to this praise song, the problems in this world are very big for me but with this song I believe I'm not alone there is the spirit of God present in each of us which is strengthened by this heavenly song. 🥺🙌
I cry each and every time I listen to this when the djembe comes in. So so emotional. I truly truly love this arrangement and performance with all my heart. Thank you so much to the arranger, choir and choir director! Wow!
This performance seems small and insignificant, compared to what we are used to see at huge stages and stadiums these days, but God,it is absolutely superb! The male voices start first, backed up by the female, then they switch places, then the grand choir kicks in strong! Whoever did this arrangement is genius! Bravo!
So I grew up singing in the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir, and I had the pleasure of hearing Kokopelli a few years ago at Festival 500 when I was attending with Xara from Halifax... and I keep coming back to this video, whenever I'm having a really challenging day. It's stunning, and beautiful, and everything else that's already been said. I wish I could have been in that audience!
I was also performing in Festival 500 that year! They truly are stunning and even more so live. Kokopelli does an amazing job capturing the emotional and technical aspect of music. It's absolutely beautiful.
I always come here to listen to this music! I'm brazilian vet surgeon! Sometimes we lost some lives in our hands and we need to heal our soul. This music + choir is a healing terapy! English is not my main language, sorry. :)
I just got back from a music camp and the senior ensemble learnt this and sung it and i kid you not it was the most beautiful thing i was crying just talking about it
I don't usually give comments but I just need to: I love this song and I never imagined a choir will pull this off. Your rendition, your voices, touched my soul and I am still wiping my tears now. Thank you & God bless you more! :)
The split moment where you realize that there's are still some beautiful things out in the world that is both captivating and memorable. This is one of my favorite renditions of this song. So beautiful!
I've been involved with choir for 8 years now. And I've known this specific recording for quite some time now and everytime I watch it, I just can't get over how happy each member looks. Most of the time I'm not sure what it's like to not have a worry in the world, because there's so much of worry in it, but everytime I listen to this and experience the message this song delivers, it takes me to another world without pain or sadness, just the joy of music and it's one of the best feelings I know. I thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Wow, I don't know about "tears free" - when they step up the amplitude at 3.25 it brought tears to my eyes - amazing piece - thank you so much. I will be posting this link far and wide!
Just noticed after viewing this video 25x times at least, the front row is holding hands. This choir is so harmonious in an utterly heavenly and angelic rendition of an amazing song.
Had to listen/watch again and share it with family--words can't describe it. Can't believe Edmonton would consider tearing down an amazing venue for such inspiring music. So sad.
An absolutely perfect arrangement. The harmonies are spot on and the blend between voices and instrument are so well-balanced. Great talent is born in Canada!
When I die, at my funeral, I want a choir to sing this..its so emotionnal
So do i, its just wonderful
S A M E
Absolutely, this is beautiful.
Then you better be a good boy or no Coldplay for you.
@@NetraBahari Your brother did what?
Most popular songs don't translate well when arranged for choral groups. This one, however, is simply breath taking.
Personally, I like this better than the original. This particular group too. They nailed it! Can’t find one better!

@@timhaslam4241 Almost every Beatles song has been covered by a choir, Queen too has lots of choirs cover their music.
I heard that Coldplay made a cover of this song.
Oh, soooo original -.-

But only if coldplay would have said that
LOL, funny.

Omg me too. I have cried nearly every time I've watched/listened. At "When tears stream down your face..." 😧😭
Yes indeed. You're a pure soul.
Same
pussy lmfao... sorry for saying that it was out of pocket

If I was there when they performed this, I would have burst into tears or flames or both
The tears would put out the flames
I have no idea who you guys are or where you are from, but this is one of the best choral versions of any song I have ever heard, ever. It's completely beautiful.
Well spoken. It is so true. I feel the same. It is awesome. The best song and it's best version.
They are from Edmonton Alberta, Canada I was in there organization. I was in the younger group.
It was sung at the wedding of the Prince Carl of Sweden. Now on you tube. Both versions are brilliant.
3:28 That part gives me the chills everytime I hear it! Amazing!!
+Karla Camacho absolutely
Yes. Love the high note.
the best cover i've ever heard. and agree with your sentiment. amazing harmonies
agree!
I can hardly even handle it...I think I'm going burst with joy!

I just can't believe I've heard it. It seems to be unreal...
Human Voice, best musical instrument ever.
I can't even imagine being in the audience... every eye must have been wet.

Heather Janzen The audience on it’s feet says it all.
I'm watching it for probably my 100th time and I'm still bawling. It's the only song that has EVER moved my soul like this.
Just reminds me of my mum I lost in October 2017. I just can’t move on and I’ve put this rendition on repeat for the whole night. Well done choir
One of the most beautiful songs of redemtion....
I dont know much about choir but while watching this it gave me the chills and made me join my schools choir. Good job and keep up the work.
+Justin Perez - Our favourite comment yet! Dudes who join choir are rock stars in our books. Hope you love singing as much as we do.
I'm the opposite, I'm singing this in choir and wanted to hear what another choir sounds like singing it

Omg when the sopranos hit the high C in the 2nd 4 of the crescendo 😭😭😭😭 I'm bawling my Heart out. Its like angels
HAHAHAH
My soul hit an all-time high at 3:30. Absolutely beautiful

This is the best arrangement of this song, by far. No question. Sublime.
I was actually not emotionally prepared for this video. It's beautiful
Where are all of you know including this amazing conductor. Love you all!!
Edmonton, Alberta
who needs therapy when you got really good choirs singing the most relaxing stuff ever frfr
I feel safe whenever I listen to this song.
Wow. Just incredible. People who don't like music would love this performance.
i just imagine that i'm standing there watching this performance live, it would be so amazing!
goosebumps all the way from 3:15. absolutely beautiful

Brings thoughts of love and sorrow for my brother-in-law who I miss so dearly.

I must admit I was moved to the core by this. I haven't cried this good for quite a long time. Thank you.
These guys have done a wonderful job .... take this one to the memory bank and lock it away. It is a keeper :-)
Best choral cover on the whole internet. I'm sure even Chris Martin would agree

Wow guys, a-ma-zing. Love the way you build it all up. First the low voices, then the high ones and later on all together. What a treat.
