I used to go and watch them play live in the local pubs and music bars most weekends back in the early to mid 90's, IMHO Jesse is the closest there is to nailing SRV's tone and feel. However despite that, he's far more than just a clone. I watched them when they supported Kenny Wayne Sheppard in London and they absolutely blew him off the stage, he simply struggled to follow them. Little surprise they won the Best British Blues Band award so many years running, I'm just disappointed they weren't able to get properly signed up and have the major success they so very much deserved
So true, seen them a few times live including opening for Johnny Winter. Their stage presence was unbelievable, the best I've ever witnessed! They where the best (upcoming) blues band of their time. A shame that it ended like it did. Glad I was there to enjoy them live.
Echo the sentiments, I saw them early 90s support the Blues band, can't remember the Blues band Set, but these guys stayed with me forever. I was a young SRV fan at the time so. John snapped a string and handed it to me, still have it
I expieriënced them playing also in the '90's in the centrum of city Zwolle (NL) and all the bandmembers handsigned their CD for me what i still play. I was flabbergasted at that time.
if i ever die, they can play this one at my funeral so people can enjoy the last 14 minutes before im going down....seen them live 3 times, most badass group ever!!
Probably the most 2 Bad Assed Electric Blues Guitar Artists in the world in the same band. One of the most creative and awesome bands there ever was! Incredible stuff!
this is what true music is about: emotions and feelings, not millions of pedals, instruments, computers, cicada hi-hats or other stuff we're flooded with in 2020...
These boys are local boys from my town. I've watched them in bars in their early days. They were teenagers back then. They were brilliant then, and still are 19 years on. Devizes corn exchange New Year's Eve 1996, was one I remember so well. Love Huey, love the hoax.
Everyone banging on about the guitar players..yeah they’re all that, but Hugh Coltman, not many can touch him and he’s not daunted or eclipsed one inch by the great musicians around him..THAT’S CLASS MAN!!!
Honoured to have seen them several times back in Devizes…. Incomparable….If only the world knew how good they were.. sensational doesn’t even begin to describe them!
Back in '93 I bought a ticket to see Little Feat in Noorderlicht, Tilburg in The Netherlands. The show sucked. By itself, but more so by the breathtaking support act
what a SRV tone that Jesse has :o 100% Stevie, no one comes even close. John Mayer once said he could play like Stevie for 5-10 sec and then lose the magic moment. Jesse nails it for a whole song :p
I still have a string off John Amors guitar that he handed to me when I was about 14 at a gig in Wolverhampton. They supported the Blues band....I can't remember any of their set as the Hoax blew my mind that night
This song kicks serious ass! Check out how much their CD's are going for online????? I have Sound Like This, Humdinger 10th Anniversary, and Big City Blues ! I wish I could see Jesse Davey in Person. Incredible guitarist!

Been a fan since I first heard them play, they had an average age of 19 then.

@@junio5456 Jon Amor, the other guitarplayer in HoaX, made his own band called Amor.😉
I still have a string off John Amors guitar that he handed to me when I was about 14 at a gig in Wolverhampton. They supported the Blues band....I can't remember any of their set as the Hoax blew my mind that night
Total mastery of dynamics, one of the very best bluesbands ever to walk the earth! So glad i got to see them live in their glorydays!
Breathtaking. British blues at its best.

Hi, thanks for this - wonderful. When and where was this recorded?
I think this is off the Video (VHS) they released in 1998 and this was recorded at The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth in 98
You think wow Jesse can’t be beat with that first solo the Jon just knocks it out of the park 🤯👌🏻
