I found one while exploring and the paint is off the head partially but besides that it is in great condition. 12 inch 4 lb. What does the number 0416 mean on the handle?
It's a sledgehammer meant to break or remove stuff. You hit the flate spots on the sides. I use them as a heavy equipment mechanic. To remove parts, punch stuff out, brake stuff. Brake drums, can trunions on scrapers, machine blades, etc. I have yet to break a wilton hammer but have bent the handle
I have been meaning to do a update, it seems they press fit the handle which damages the rubber over mold, and the rubber compresses after use and they cannot be fixed like a wood handle. I now know why all hammers should have wood handles.
This is a good hammer; however, I recently had to weld one back together. I was amazed at the contruction. They used 4 rods to goto the head to reduce vibration. Really a shit ass por contruction but new tech. I am sure the nect gen will be better as all thing usually are, maybe.
It's obviously possible, by the simple forbearance of reviewing tools that you do not have sufficient experience with... Please don't get me wrong- this was a good bench top unboxing style review, and that style appears to be the focus of your channel. This video would provide someone with no experience with the tool a few decent pointers. But there would be no point of contention if you had labeled it as a bench top review (although I do see you put that in your description- thank you). Did you know you can edit your youtube video titles? I had a video that appeared to be a how-to video, and it seemed to upset some of my viewers because it was a demonstration only, and they seemed to feel I had wasted their time. Note that your review is nearly 10 minutes long. I changed my video's title to reflect that it was not a how-to, and I think the world is a better place because of it. If you titled this "benchtop review" or "unboxing review" you would help out your viewers and avoid this confusion. My 2¢ is free.
Who knew sledge hammer reviews could be so good? Thanks for posting this!
We use wiltons in the iron working and they've hold up incredibly. The most desirable one we loved is a 6 lb Wilton with not such a long handle
Great video man! I've been wondering about these
They're pretty expensive for a sledgehammer but they are made pretty nice
Same 👍
What size sledge hammer do you recommend for automotive use on big dozers and general duties. Smashing back bent buckets for rewelding
My boss ran over my 2.5lb B.A.S.H. sledge with a komatsu pc220 on concrete. It didn’t even tear up the rubber coating on the handle.
Levi Wamsley Dayum quite an abuse ur tool can withstand.
That looks like a tactical sledgehammer. Where is the picatinny rail for the scope and laser sight?
It would need a gyroscopic assist for striking accuracy if it were to have those other accessories

What do you do for a living? Just curious
Can anyone enlighten me upon the benefits/utility of this head shape. It looks cool and stands out.

Nice hammer
Thanks
Tell ya see the price.....
I had a 12 pound and it got loose by the head where it meet the handle

@@CatusMaximus so when i hit the wood steak turn slightly
You need a 20lb with a 24 inch handle
I got one thats broke ! It needs a handle , head slips off the handle, there is six long pins that go all the way to the hilt.

If your going to spend a lot of money on a sledgehammer might as well get the 20 lb.
Цена .стоимость .
That sledge doesn't look like it has too many miles on it
I use it exclusively for people who troll my channel
@@CatusMaximus not a troll if it’s a legitimate comment!
And they built the pyramids without this tool ???
Not worth the price in my opinion. They do make rubber sleeves that mitigate impact trauma. Guess i’m old school and cheep,.....as for vices, YOST
Gotta disagree, for vices; OLD school Wiltons
if it sades unbreakable i will break it in 1hr. it will not hold up to what i will do to it
Laughs...
@can’t kill me
Bro it doesn’t matter how much you weigh or what you do to try and break it, you’ll never be able to break this sledgehammer😂
I love this tool, but I would recommend earning your bona fides and actually using a tool extensively before you review it.
As nice as that would be that's obviously not possible. some tools you use occasionally and some you use all the time.
