It's come to my attention that Matt Dillahunty has recently made comments about Marlene Klepees' healing that I didn't see before recording this video, but I think he's dead wrong. In short, Matt seems to think her condition was psychosomatic because there’s no solid documentation right before her hospitalization showing she was born with cerebral palsy. Some doctors initially thought it might be psychosomatic too. But from what my colleague Caleb Jackson can gather, that's just not plausible if Marlene is telling the truth about being born premature and not being able to walk until she was five. Psychosomatic illnesses don't start that early; kids that young don't have that level of awareness. The only way his theory could work is if Marlene were lying about her childhood and later had some sort of psychosomatic breakdown that caused her paralysis when she was a teenager. But that scenario seems pretty unlikely.
"that's just not plausible if Marlene is telling the truth" ... yes, that is correct... IF she is telling the truth. And yes, kids suffer from psychosematic issues. They bump into something and cry loud. Hand them a bit of candy or do some other non injury relieving thing and they shut up. That's psychosematic behavior. Now, is that her thing? Probably not. Vastly more likely she was not telling the truth. Perhaps she was simply told this for whatever reason, or maybe she made it up to have a 'miracle' story. And maybe she had some other issue that did actually impair her ability to walk, some reason she was never made aware of or maybe misdiagnosed. Point is, there are a lot of possible explanations before we ever reach 'miracle'.

You are not going to convince anyone under the christian worldview by assuming she's lying, alot of us here have personal experience with God and do believe that this stuff happens. If she was telling the truth, there aren't alot of "naturalistic explanations"

I had a several tendons and ligaments torn and/or broken during a car accident. The injury would cause my shoulder to regularly pop out of the socket and cause me extreme pain. One night I was in so much pain I was in tears and I began praying. I had just read Mark 11:24 that evening so I prayed in the manner prescribed by Jesus and no sooner had I begun the prayer that I felt my shoulder snap back into the socket and I knew that I would never feel that pain again, and I haven't. What was an irreparable injury was permanently healed as the direct result of prayer.

Too many people just assume that things can't be true, if they can't be explained. I can be logical to a fault so I have to admit that despite being a Christian my whole life, I am naturally skeptical of a lot of miraculous claims but the reality is they are a lot which can't be explained by anything other than God not being done with someone yet. It's always comforting to know that He is out there and still performs miracles.
Yeah, like the Holy Spirit in these people titled Christians. Most of their testimonies and miracles are on online. It’s extremely hard to say how without God. It’s incredible, I like it.
Usually, there demand for credibility is extremely high. They need to have a firm relationship with the person for a long time, and need numerous less than supernatural claims confirmed. Ironically, many of those people will believe claims about secular stuff with far less scrutiny, and find themselves in a quandary when the secular stuff is debunked.
I agree that something can be true, even if it can't be explained. Just because the evidence for Christianity is weak, it doesn't mean Christianity can't be true. However, apologists seem to think that if Christianity is true, there must be good evidence supporting it. That's why they present the supposed "eyewitness testimony" as strong evidence for a man coming back from the dead 2,000 years ago. It's not, but it's all they have, and their faith isn't strong enough to just take it on faith. Most Christians don't care about this stuff because they're perfectly fine admitting that they take it on faith. They don't need to embarrass themselves with the kinds of arguments apologists make.
It's a miracle i am 11 years sober after 20+ years of alcohol and drug abuse. Miracles don't have to be phantasmagorical, just acting against the odds and overcoming evil is plenty.
I love to hear stories of people being broken free from addiction and I'm thankful you experienced victory. With that said, I think that's an example of providence, not a miracle. A miracle is, by definition, something that happens contrary to the laws of nature.

The biblical word for miracle is the word "Dunamis" which simply means "power" and is the word we get our English word "Dynamite" from. A miracle is simply when God's power steps in. Let's think about it this way: If I drop a ball, the law of Gravity says that ball will fall down and hit the ground, but there is nothing stopping me from reaching out and grabbing it. It's the same with God. The laws of nature may say someone will die from a certain illness, but we know that an illness will leave when we administer the cure. God's "Dunamis" is just the cure. The criteria are about determining if God went against or suspended the laws of nature to cause an event. The mind is not material, so it already isn't bound by the laws of nature. God certainly does act on minds, but such activity cannot be verified the same way his going against or suspending the laws of nature can be.
When I was high school, a friend of mine's father was diagnosed with a tumor on his spine. The church did a special prayer and anointing for him and when he had new images taken ahead of the surgery the tumor was no longer there. I don't know how much documentation they have, but there should definitely be before and after images.
Redeemed Zoomer broke down in his video on church history that “miracles can’t happen” is purely based on circular reasoning. There’s no reason God can’t do whatever he’d like to with this universe.
I dislocated my right knee skiing, tearing my ACL and meniscus. A year later, I could barely walk on it. Someone prayed--not even for me directly--just for a miracle--and it was immediately healed. I've had almost no knee trouble for 30 years. I wish I had the MRI of that ACL dangling by a thread.
I'm a Christian because I've witnessed supernatural events as well as having been physically healed (after I was already Christian) multiple times. Others may fall away, but I'm incapable of no longer believing. Instantaneous and complete healing.

Our church just had a miracle. One of our elders wife was hospitalized with in pregnancy with the placenta being in the wrong spot. She'd need bed rest and a C section. We were praying for her in the normal way. God fixed it. The doctors were shocked. They scanned her and saw it was in the right place. They sent her home a few weeks ago. No more bleeding. She's going to have her baby normally. Fits all the criteria. Glory to God alone! When these things happen people just say "hmm, that's odd." And move on, sadly.

Once it’s implanted, it doesn’t go anywhere without significant blood loss, and it doesn’t reattach. Not without some kind of intervention, and we don’t have the tech to do it ourselves.

Your response that God has to answer for the miracles unperformed has absolutely nothing to do with the fact, true or false, that miracles have occurred.
@@spencerwest8829 you have proposed a hypothesis, it's important to test it. Scientists hypothesised that there were Gardens on Venus, until they had the capacity to test what the atmospheric conditions actually were there, and they found that it was beyond implausible. In this instance, when a placenta detaches, if it happens early in the pregnancy, that's it, no more pregnancy. If it happens towards the end, the baby comes early. There is a window in the middle where the placenta can reattach and the pregnancy still be able to go on, providing the majority of it reattaches, but the baby will still come earlier than full term due to reduced blood flow and oxygen. For it to reattach enough for the baby to be ok twice, is extraordinary odds.
@@spencerwest8829 So, my immediate reaction is to say that the presence of an otherwise inexplicable healing is strong evidence that a miracle has occurred. Just because we don't understand the logic doesn't mean it hasn't occurred. Whether prayer is a necessary condition of a miracle or not is not relevant to whether a miracle has happened. It is one theory about the cause of miracles, but not the only one. I think it would be fair to say that prayer may not have much to do with the occurrence of miracles in general. The burden is still on you to explain how these healings have occurred without miraculous means.
I think modern day miracles is the single best argument for God (from a practical standpoint at least). Sad that we often are too scared to go this route
There is a danger, if all you see God as is your personal get out of injury free card, well, that's not bringing glory to God. If you go to expecting the miraculous you wont find it.

I really pray that miracles will also work on me, i currently have HIV , and i regret so much i really sinned against God Jesus , and i have sinned against my body too the temple for holy spirit. I just witnessed my first miraculous healing last Monday. My best friend who had been having debilitating migraines for over 5 years was healed with prayer and holy water from Lourdes, France. It was amazing.
I had an aunt who was healed of her cancer by an Eastern Church icon of a Saint associated with cancer patients. She went from expecting to die in a year to fully recovering and living another 14 years before a different cancer manifested and claimed her in her old age.
God continues to do miracles. We need to continue to make disciples of every people group everywhere, preaching the good news He won for us on the cross.
My mum suffered from fibriod and bleeding for about 5 years medication and treatment did nothing. We had planned a surgery as a final resort here in Nigeria but for some reason the fibroid disappeared unexplained even the doctors didn't know how. Healing still happens guys.
I was brought up in the church so talking about miracles is nothing new to me, but i had never been pointed to any with a paperwork trail like is mentioned here and I'm so happy to learn that GOD is still at work even with all of our modern miracles of technology.

Yep, the Catholic and Orthodox churches have been systematically recording miracles for centuries. I'm skeptical about many, if not most of them, but there are a few that are quite compelling.

My dad is a diabetic whose heart valves (forgive me if I'm not using the correct terms) became almost completely clogged, however, his body grew another heart valve to work around this, which is pretty much undocumented in diabetics. He had to get an emergency heart surgery, and in the process, he had a heart attack, a stroke, and almost died several times. He made a miraculous recovery, and nowadays you can't even tell he went through anything. The surgeons and nurses called him the miracle man. And this is just one of many people I've known personally who have testimonies of miraculous miracles. Nobody can convince me that God doesn't exist.

For healings at Lourdes, I would also suggest looking into the cases of Marie Bailly, Gabriel Gargam, John Traynor, and Marie Lemarchand. These are cases where the evidence looks pretty solid.
I think many people don’t realize that the Greek word for church means the Polis of a city state or the people of a kingdom. Catholics, orthodox, and protestants all need to realize God is considered with the heart of course there are theological differences but there are also things we need to agree on and we do agree on such as salvation and forgiveness of sins. We need to be the United Body of Christ not a religious people without the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We should love our brothers and sisters even if we don’t aways agree with them.

Hey Erik, since you are using modern miracles for apologetic purposes, I was wondering if maybe you could also maybe talk about on your channel about ex-Muslims who have experienced visions of Jesus. Maybe you could try to get one such person on your channel if possible, because this is a very widespread phenomenon that often happens in the Muslim world that I feel also has some pretty big untapped apologetic potential.
I saw a video on that. Some of these ex-muslims stories prove that Allah is Satan disguised as an angel. Remember that Allah is said to be the master of deception.
a year and a half ago, I experienced what I think was a miracle. I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep and I couldn't because my back hurt. I was about to roll over and I perceived a hand come over my left shoulder and set down on my chest. And this hand kind of made me freeze and I felt my whole body turn to light and I felt this enormously intense joy completely fill me. It was totally unearthly, it doesn't compare to happiness or anything. It was the most satisfying intense emotion I had ever felt an at the same time it was kind of intimidating.. I felt like there was more to it that I couldn't handle. So after about 3 seconds this hand went away back to idk? heaven or something"? Idk if it was an angel or God? But it was awesome. An odd thing that happened after the hand retracted was I reactively said "thankyou" without even thinking, it just came out. Also that light that was filling me completely went away when the hand left and the intensity of the joy also left but some of it also lingered behind. Kind of like how you still feel warm after getting out of a hot shower. And I noticed my back didn't hurt after.. (but honestly who cares about that? after this deer in the headlights experience?) Ever since then I'm like.. pumped to see the kingdom of God. If you think I'm lying, keep in mind I have a UA-cam channel with one video that has almost a million views and I could put this experience on the channel and make money off of it but I refuse to do that. And this isn't for Christian-cred. I don't even go to church, though I wish I did.. and I recognize that probably most Christians wont believe me. It's too wild.
As a fellow Christian going through a crisis of faith this really lifts my spirits but i worry and my mind goes to other possibilities to explain this event. I want to believe so much but i feel hopeless but this testimony helped, thanks

I have a great-uncle who had a tendon detach in his upper arm. He had to get a screw in his back to hold the tendon in place. He underwent a lot of PT to be able to regain use of that arm again. Later, the doctors discovered the screw had come loose so they'd need to reattach it, requiring a lot more PT. Before the surgery, they did a scan as they do before surgeries to make sure it's necessary. They found that while the screw had come loose, the tendon had been able to reattach!

Back when I was still 16 in high-school, I had a real aching tonsilitis in my neck so I couldn't eat or drink without hurting a ton inside my neck. So, fast forward to a couple of days later when my family and I were attending church like usual at Sunday noon, the pastor for that day had this usual gathering for people who have illnessess and be prayed on stage for healing, but since I was still pretty nervous I didn't go up stage with the others and stayed on the seats while continuing to pray like everyone else. Not even a couple seconds later, the feel of aching in my neck because of my tonsilitis began to go away and die down, as I was clearly shocked like anyone could be and immediately grabbed my mom's water bottle in her bag to drink, just to make sure if i was just feeling something weird. But wouldn't you know it, my tonsilitis was indeed gone and my neck felt normal again after that. I told my mom while we were eating with my sister after that and she was definitely thrilled and praised the Lord after seeing my sudden change. ❤❤
I think something that should be noted is I hope people don't hear these things and then expect miraculous healing due to their devotion or lack thereof. Being healed is a blessing, to be sure, but it should NOT be an expectation nor a replacement for actual medical care. Live your life without the expectation, and you may just be pleasantly surprised
As a younger man, I developed chronic pain in my back. My parents took me to a prayer meeting on Wednesday night. I was prayed over, felt a warm sensation on my back, and never had that pain come back chronically. I prayed over an old farmer's knee for the pain he was experiencing to go away. Nothing happened the first two times. When I prayed a third time he said the pain was gone and his face changed to a big smile. I was addicted to pornography for most of my life. During an inner healing session (emotions, memories, trauma, soul ties, etc.) the facilitator had a phrase pop into his mind after I told him what I was seeing in my imagination. What I saw was a hooded figure underneath a staircase. The phrase he got was "dungeons and dragons" and asked what that meant to me. I revealed that I was running campaigns with my kids, working on world-building and buying books, miniatures, and resources to play the game system. He said to give that up so I sold everything. It felt like the temptation and desire went down by 90% and felt manageable for the first time in a 20+ year battle. God is good.
@@spencerwest8829 I appreciate the heart behind what you’re saying and I was very sad to give it up. The freedom from addiction to pornography is a trade I am happy to make. We have almost 100 board games that we play as a family on the regular and I’m looking into Star Wars RPG right now, so not all is lost in fact, more has been gained for my family, especially into the future as my kids grow up without their father being under the influence of that dark addiction.
@@spencerwest8829 You are all over the comment section, the truth is demonic influence is present in the most innocent looking things. From God's perspective he sees this so he does what's best. Now whether what this person said is true is debatable.

Even subtle instances of magic or anything that focuses on magic can contain demonic influence. I'm not saying it's inherently demonic, it's just Satan is crafty is all.

I was born with a severe case of Pulmonary Atresia. Long story short, my pulmonary valve failed to detach from my heart, resulting in me being born a “blue baby” and requiring open heart surgery at three days old to save my life. During the surgery, doctors removed the tissue that should’ve been my pulmonary valve, and for the first two years of my life I basically had a hole in my heart. On top of Pulmonary Atresia, I was born with Cystic Fibrosis. The two of those things combined should have killed me, even with intense medical intervention. In fact, my doctors tried to convince my parents to take me off life support once (thank God they didn’t). When I was a toddler, doctors inserted a stent in my heart to act as a temporary pulmonary valve till I was old enough to get a pig valve inserted there. But, three years later, doctors discovered that I had an unusually high pulse-ox, as well as an unusually low heart rate (my heart was no longer beating super fast, and I had more oxygen in my blood than before). When they looked at my heart via the echocardiogram (which, at the time, was something I got every three months), they saw that a brand new, fully formed and functioning pulmonary heart valve had grown in my heart, using the stent as scaffolding to grow. While my original cardiologist (and the doctor who lead my surgery) has since retired, I still see one of his students (who was in med school when I was a baby and participated in my heart surgery) every few years for my cardiology check-ups, and he has absolutely no explanation how my heart valve spontaneously grew back when I was five years old. I’m now 23. Not only is my heart not an issue, but neither is my Cystic Fibrosis. I’m not entirely “normal”. I still need to take lots of medications to stay healthy. But, per my last doctor’s appointment a couple weeks ago, my weight is perfect and my FEV1 lung function is 125%. If none of those things constitute as miracles of God, then I don’t know what does.
Lemme tell you a story. My father suffered a heart attack past year. His heart was so big he was nearly dead, he was going to the heart transplant list. And there when he was nearly dying, he saw light, he saw 'Santa Maria de Fátima' (St. Mary of Fatima), and there he was healed by God. His heart got back to normal. I was nearly being a lukewarm Christian at that time, but then when that happened, I repented and turned back to the right way. Thank you Jesus, and that the Grace of the Lord be all with those who read the comment, amen.
I very vaguely remember watching the last example/interview before, years ago. The other examples were amazing as well. My uncle had a tumor on the back of his tongue in his throat years ago. They couldn't cut it out. He had to have a tube in his throat, among other things. He had people including my mom pray for him in the hospital. Then one day, while he was leaving his house, he started coughing and coughed up that tumor and was free of cancer. Unfortunately, he had a stroke a couple of years ago. Which caused a little brain damage, but thankfully it didn't really impair him in any way.. And then 2 days ago, he was cutting a tree limb while on a 25 foot ladder and the limb swung around the tree and knocked his ladder out from under him and he fell. He's currently in the hospital. He has bleeding in his brain, and he has swelling around his left shoulder and arm area. But they can't scan it because it's too swelled, and they haven't given him anything but Tylenol because of the bleeding in his brain. He's conscious and wants to go home.. But man, he's had a lot of trials and tribulations when it comes to his physical wellbeing.
Why is curing blindness specifically such a theme of Christian healings past, present and biblical? I'm an atheist but I ask out of a desire to know more. I have a lot of respect for Christianity now.
@@UntrainedExorcist I guess that makes sense. Especially if there is seemingly miraculous healing of scarred tissue. I will say that laser eye surgery can remove some eye scars, but its ability to do so is limited. I will admit, I have a belief in naturalism that makes it difficult for me to believe in the concept of miracles, but lacking other explanations means I have no authority to reject it either. Another question I would have is why must 'God' be a conscious entity, couldn't it be possible that it's an infinite supernatural process, rather than specifically someone with an infinite mind?
It would be interesting to find instances of anti-miracles (curses?) where people were suddenly struck with an unexplained affliction like St. Paul going blind. The ex-blind man's story made me think of Paul. Maybe going blind and regaining was all a part of getting his brain cleansed. IDK, interesting to think about.
Great video but as a Christian I still have skepticism over this, even tough they may seem miraculous, I haven’t seen information on these cases outside of religious sites and I would like to see the medical records which back these up. One question I have about modern miracles in general is how does it work specifically? Obviously this would have to be a mix of theology and science that should agree, but by all accounts we should be able to look at how people are healed and get a sense of why. What conditions does God heal? Because this is actually a very good question I dont have a solid answer on personally. Because we know there are times when He doesnt. And we know God isnt random, changing day by day. God is constant. Im not even trying to say I would disagree with how God heals, I cant say I would do better than God. I just want to know the conditions.
the problem is theres most likely many reported cases of faith healings of people attributed to other religions that are mutually exclusive to each other (i.e muslims being healed after drinking zamzam water, or hindus healed after making offering to a temple, etc)

No contradiction: the Virgin and Saints, like any other Christian, just pray God on behalf of those who ask them to do so. Praying saints is just asking them to pray God on your behalf . All prayers reach God.

I would invite the curious to read *Miracles Today*, by Craig Keener. This is the shorter, 300 pp. book. Those more curious still are invited to read his prior two-volume work, *Miracles* (1100 pp).
5:04 ok so I find a catholic specific healing rather interesting. Now I wont take that to mean I should immediately agree with catholic doctrine, but at the very least I have to admit there is something special about the pilgrimage site if nothing else. Though really of course, God usually operates more by faith than specific locations or actions.
There may be an issue with the CURED principle: healing is not always done on a dramatic basis. We as humans have a narrow concept of time so to require the qualification of an instant may be folly. God is outside of time and delivers in ways beyond our imagination. We can't even know when the healing process begins, can we? I only pint this out because the question of hope is at stake here. Maybe people may give up on God's deliverance if they are seeing instant results. There are biblical examples of healing/deliverance taking place in phases as well.
Hey, I know this is not related to the video, sorry, but what is your take on evolutionism? The overwhelming proof for evolution is one of the reasons that make me skeptical of the gospels.
I am not in a scientific position to judge, but I have a biologist friend who has a PhD in evo biology who rejects evolution on the basis of his evaluation of the evidence. For me, if Jesus rose from the dead, then who cares how God brought about creation? I don't see evolution as incompatible with Christianity, so I don't really care about the topic very much.
Evolution doesn't disprove the Bible in any way. It only explains how life evolved, not how it began. The Bible doesn't say anything about how old the earth is.
While I no longer struggle with this point as a barrier to faith, I understand where you may be coming from. The way I see it, the theory of evolution can be a stumbling block from two angles: either the nature of the Bible as literal history or the implications of suffering before the Fall. Both of these, I would argue, come from modern misconceptions about the nature of Scripture. The first challenge asserts that the theory of evolution is inconsistent with Scripture because it contradicts the Seven Days of Creation in Genesis 1. In fact, it does not contradict Genesis, but rather contradicts a modern, shallowly literal misunderstanding of Genesis 1, and the first part of Genesis as a whole, which, while recounting basically historical events (the Creation, the Fall of Adam and Eve, Noah's Flood, Abraham, etc.) often uses symbolism to make theological arguments. For instance, in Genesis 1 we see God create night and day, the sky and sea, and the ground with vegetation, and then he creates agents to govern each of these: the sun, moon, and stars to govern night and day; the birds and fish to govern the sky and sea, and land animals to govern the ground and vegetation. The events of days 1-3 are paralleled by days 4-6. For a very thorough and informative explanation of the symbolism in the first part of Genesis, I recommend the series on Genesis by InspiringPhilosophy here on UA-cam. This brings me to the second challenge. Today, we often envision Creation before the Fall to be perfect and without suffering, with suffering being brought into the world by the Sin of Adam and Eve. This is a modern misreading of the text which reads our own ideas into places where they do not actually exist in the text. If one reads the text in context of the Ancient Near East (the InspiringPhilosophy series handles this second challenge as well), the words God uses when telling Adam and Eve to "subdue the land" are very warlike, essentially telling Adam and Eve to "conquer the land" and turn it from a chaotic state into an ordered state. This also goes into the meaning of being made in God's Image, but I will end my comment here. I seriously urge you to watch the Genesis series I mentioned if you are not already familiar with it, it was eye-opening for me on more than just this point.
I'm an Evangelical Christian who agrees with the Big Bang and Evolution. I'm a theistic evolutionist and my interpretation of Genesis 1 isn't some new interpretation. According to ancient near eastern scholars such as John Walton, Genesis 1 is a temple text and each "day" corresponds to a day in the 7 day Temple dedication in Jerusalem. People in the ancient near east viewed the world through chaos and order and funtion. If something didn't have a funtion, it was desolate. For example, Jeremiah(who lived in Judah) stated that the northern kingdom of Israel that got destroyed was formless and void in Jeremiah 4. *It was formless and void because it was back to being in a chaotic wild state* Genesis 1 was God giving order and funtion to a universe he already created. The Bible Scholar Dr. John Walton explains that at the beginning God first created the universe, but it was in its wild and chaotic state. Then each day of creation is God as King making decrees of order and giving funtion to different aspects of the Earth so that they will funtion in relation to human society. *The world was seen as desolate because it was an uninhabited wilderness. God's command to early humans before the fall was for them to spread over the Earth and subdue it under God's rule. As well as create society and rule with God in his Divine Council. The fall ruined that. I believe that Adam and Eve were the first priest and the Garden functioned like a first temple* With the ancient near eastern view of Genesis 1 in mind, young earth creationism is shown to not be the intent of the author and therefore implies that if God exists evolution is in no conflict with the Bible. Jordan Peterson’s wife has a miracle documented as well and it’s here in UA-cam. It’s rather recent, I believe it was a rare disease with no cases of recovery if I remember correctly. She lost a ton of weight and on the way to dying pretty much, couldn’t eat much. But one day, after many months of prayer with a stranger, she was completely fine and doctors couldn’t explain the recovery. Pretty interesting and recommend the watch.

These are quite compelling but I find it difficult to attribute these so called miracles to a god or supernatural event. We obviously don’t fully understand the human body yet and to fill that gap with “God did it” is a bit presumptuous. I’m sure non religious people have these kinds of recoveries but it’s less likely we hear about them, as they wouldn’t be considered miracles. Sure, we have people’s personal testimonies, but in near death experiences for example, those can wildly differ and it is very hard to tell whether what they are saying is true. We also know that miracles happen in other religions and those are extremely hard to attribute to a Christian god.

You need to reread that verse. It says if the prophet or dreamer tells you to go after OTHER GODS which we do not know, then you are to reject them. Don't take Scripture out of context. I'm also 100% sure that verse is in the old testament.

Another possible Christian healer in modern times: Rasputin I know what most of you are thinking: "Oh come on, everyone knows he was a charlatan!!!!1" Things that "everyone knows" about czarist Russia are often complete rubbish. There is an ocean of disinformatoin about that time and place in history, and the people in it. If you read the primary accounts, you can see many examples clearly showing why people thought he was genuine. For example, when Alexei as a baby was so injured from his hemophilia that the skin around his eyes was black, and his legs were swollen, his fever was high, etc, all these symptoms went away after a few hours when Rasputin came and prayed for him. This happened not once, but many times. Maybe medical science has progressed since then, but the doctors at the time couldn't make sense of it scientifically. These symptoms shouldn't heal that fast.
I've read that doctors used Aspirin as a panacea back then. Apparently they were giving it to Alexei (which is now a known blood thinner, the worst thing you can give a hemophiliac) and Rasputin simply threw out the pills. Thus, Alexei's hemophilia improved.

In my opinion the fact that life itself exists is a miracle.. how do you explain existence itself, the purpose , the birth of consciousness or something forming out of nothing.. the precise mathematical calculation of the universe , day and night circles , the sun, the moon, the stars etc.. the only evidence of life is life itself, the only evidence of the universe is the universe itself. You can’t logical explain how or why. It’s a shame that so called reason has made existence itself seem so ordinary but if you think about it, it is a miracle.

Apologists are consistently decades behind the rest of scholarship and focus on figures popular in media, which is why their arguments rarely have much impact on broader scholarship. As an example from this video, German modernity is about 100 years outdated by this point. Gerd Lüdemann's "The Resurrection of Jesus: History, Experience, Theology" was published 30 years ago and was kind of a "last gasp" for this perspective. Even the Jesus Seminar, publishing around the same time and of which Lüdemann was a member, supported that the historical Jesus performed miracles. Bart Ehrman, who does not think the historical Jesus performed miracles, has had to write to defend his case in secular scholarship because of how common the belief in the historical Jesus' miracles are! The reason skeptics dismiss the historicity of the Gospels varies widely and has little to do with Humean philosophy. It's very vapid rhetoric to claim so. (Btw, I am a Christian and have experienced miracles before. That doesn't change the fact that this is just a bad argument.)

It's come to my attention that Matt Dillahunty has recently made comments about Marlene Klepees' healing that I didn't see before recording this video, but I think he's dead wrong. In short, Matt seems to think her condition was psychosomatic because there’s no solid documentation right before her hospitalization showing she was born with cerebral palsy. Some doctors initially thought it might be psychosomatic too. But from what my colleague Caleb Jackson can gather, that's just not plausible if Marlene is telling the truth about being born premature and not being able to walk until she was five. Psychosomatic illnesses don't start that early; kids that young don't have that level of awareness.
The only way his theory could work is if Marlene were lying about her childhood and later had some sort of psychosomatic breakdown that caused her paralysis when she was a teenager. But that scenario seems pretty unlikely.

Vastly more likely she was not telling the truth. Perhaps she was simply told this for whatever reason, or maybe she made it up to have a 'miracle' story. And maybe she had some other issue that did actually impair her ability to walk, some reason she was never made aware of or maybe misdiagnosed. Point is, there are a lot of possible explanations before we ever reach 'miracle'.

I had a several tendons and ligaments torn and/or broken during a car accident. The injury would cause my shoulder to regularly pop out of the socket and cause me extreme pain. One night I was in so much pain I was in tears and I began praying. I had just read Mark 11:24 that evening so I prayed in the manner prescribed by Jesus and no sooner had I begun the prayer that I felt my shoulder snap back into the socket and I knew that I would never feel that pain again, and I haven't. What was an irreparable injury was permanently healed as the direct result of prayer.

Too many people just assume that things can't be true, if they can't be explained. I can be logical to a fault so I have to admit that despite being a Christian my whole life, I am naturally skeptical of a lot of miraculous claims but the reality is they are a lot which can't be explained by anything other than God not being done with someone yet. It's always comforting to know that He is out there and still performs miracles.

Usually, there demand for credibility is extremely high. They need to have a firm relationship with the person for a long time, and need numerous less than supernatural claims confirmed. Ironically, many of those people will believe claims about secular stuff with far less scrutiny, and find themselves in a quandary when the secular stuff is debunked.
I agree that something can be true, even if it can't be explained. Just because the evidence for Christianity is weak, it doesn't mean Christianity can't be true. However, apologists seem to think that if Christianity is true, there must be good evidence supporting it. That's why they present the supposed "eyewitness testimony" as strong evidence for a man coming back from the dead 2,000 years ago. It's not, but it's all they have, and their faith isn't strong enough to just take it on faith. Most Christians don't care about this stuff because they're perfectly fine admitting that they take it on faith. They don't need to embarrass themselves with the kinds of arguments apologists make.
It's a miracle i am 11 years sober after 20+ years of alcohol and drug abuse. Miracles don't have to be phantasmagorical, just acting against the odds and overcoming evil is plenty.
I love to hear stories of people being broken free from addiction and I'm thankful you experienced victory. With that said, I think that's an example of providence, not a miracle. A miracle is, by definition, something that happens contrary to the laws of nature.

The biblical word for miracle is the word "Dunamis" which simply means "power" and is the word we get our English word "Dynamite" from. A miracle is simply when God's power steps in. Let's think about it this way: If I drop a ball, the law of Gravity says that ball will fall down and hit the ground, but there is nothing stopping me from reaching out and grabbing it. It's the same with God. The laws of nature may say someone will die from a certain illness, but we know that an illness will leave when we administer the cure. God's "Dunamis" is just the cure. The criteria are about determining if God went against or suspended the laws of nature to cause an event. The mind is not material, so it already isn't bound by the laws of nature. God certainly does act on minds, but such activity cannot be verified the same way his going against or suspending the laws of nature can be.

When I was high school, a friend of mine's father was diagnosed with a tumor on his spine. The church did a special prayer and anointing for him and when he had new images taken ahead of the surgery the tumor was no longer there. I don't know how much documentation they have, but there should definitely be before and after images.

I dislocated my right knee skiing, tearing my ACL and meniscus. A year later, I could barely walk on it. Someone prayed--not even for me directly--just for a miracle--and it was immediately healed. I've had almost no knee trouble for 30 years. I wish I had the MRI of that ACL dangling by a thread.
I'm a Christian because I've witnessed supernatural events as well as having been physically healed (after I was already Christian) multiple times. Others may fall away, but I'm incapable of no longer believing. Instantaneous and complete healing.

Our church just had a miracle. One of our elders wife was hospitalized with in pregnancy with the placenta being in the wrong spot. She'd need bed rest and a C section. We were praying for her in the normal way. God fixed it. The doctors were shocked. They scanned her and saw it was in the right place. They sent her home a few weeks ago. No more bleeding. She's going to have her baby normally. Fits all the criteria. Glory to God alone! When these things happen people just say "hmm, that's odd." And move on, sadly.

Your response that God has to answer for the miracles unperformed has absolutely nothing to do with the fact, true or false, that miracles have occurred.

Scientists hypothesised that there were Gardens on Venus, until they had the capacity to test what the atmospheric conditions actually were there, and they found that it was beyond implausible. In this instance, when a placenta detaches, if it happens early in the pregnancy, that's it, no more pregnancy. If it happens towards the end, the baby comes early. There is a window in the middle where the placenta can reattach and the pregnancy still be able to go on, providing the majority of it reattaches, but the baby will still come earlier than full term due to reduced blood flow and oxygen. For it to reattach enough for the baby to be ok twice, is extraordinary odds.
@@spencerwest8829 So, my immediate reaction is to say that the presence of an otherwise inexplicable healing is strong evidence that a miracle has occurred. Just because we don't understand the logic doesn't mean it hasn't occurred.
Whether prayer is a necessary condition of a miracle or not is not relevant to whether a miracle has happened. It is one theory about the cause of miracles, but not the only one. I think it would be fair to say that prayer may not have much to do with the occurrence of miracles in general.
The burden is still on you to explain how these healings have occurred without miraculous means.
I think modern day miracles is the single best argument for God (from a practical standpoint at least). Sad that we often are too scared to go this route

I just witnessed my first miraculous healing last Monday. My best friend who had been having debilitating migraines for over 5 years was healed with prayer and holy water from Lourdes, France. It was amazing.

I had an aunt who was healed of her cancer by an Eastern Church icon of a Saint associated with cancer patients. She went from expecting to die in a year to fully recovering and living another 14 years before a different cancer manifested and claimed her in her old age.

My mum suffered from fibriod and bleeding for about 5 years medication and treatment did nothing.
We had planned a surgery as a final resort here in Nigeria but for some reason the fibroid disappeared unexplained even the doctors didn't know how. Healing still happens guys.
I was brought up in the church so talking about miracles is nothing new to me, but i had never been pointed to any with a paperwork trail like is mentioned here and I'm so happy to learn that GOD is still at work even with all of our modern miracles of technology.

My dad is a diabetic whose heart valves (forgive me if I'm not using the correct terms) became almost completely clogged, however, his body grew another heart valve to work around this, which is pretty much undocumented in diabetics. He had to get an emergency heart surgery, and in the process, he had a heart attack, a stroke, and almost died several times. He made a miraculous recovery, and nowadays you can't even tell he went through anything. The surgeons and nurses called him the miracle man.
And this is just one of many people I've known personally who have testimonies of miraculous miracles. Nobody can convince me that God doesn't exist.

For healings at Lourdes, I would also suggest looking into the cases of Marie Bailly, Gabriel Gargam, John Traynor, and Marie Lemarchand. These are cases where the evidence looks pretty solid.

Catholics, orthodox, and protestants all need to realize God is considered with the heart of course there are theological differences but there are also things we need to agree on and we do agree on such as salvation and forgiveness of sins. We need to be the United Body of Christ not a religious people without the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We should love our brothers and sisters even if we don’t aways agree with them.
I am willing to follow the evidence wherever it leads. For example, I honestly have no idea what to do with Zeitoun.

Hey Erik, since you are using modern miracles for apologetic purposes, I was wondering if maybe you could also maybe talk about on your channel about ex-Muslims who have experienced visions of Jesus. Maybe you could try to get one such person on your channel if possible, because this is a very widespread phenomenon that often happens in the Muslim world that I feel also has some pretty big untapped apologetic potential.
I'd love to research that one day.

I'm about to receive Some Water from Lourdes which i ordered to get healed and this video came up today
a year and a half ago, I experienced what I think was a miracle.
I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep and I couldn't because my back hurt.
I was about to roll over and I perceived a hand come over my left shoulder and set down on my chest. And this hand kind of made me freeze and I felt my whole body turn to light and I felt this enormously intense joy completely fill me. It was totally unearthly, it doesn't compare to happiness or anything. It was the most satisfying intense emotion I had ever felt an at the same time it was kind of intimidating.. I felt like there was more to it that I couldn't handle.
So after about 3 seconds this hand went away back to idk? heaven or something"? Idk if it was an angel or God? But it was awesome.
An odd thing that happened after the hand retracted was I reactively said "thankyou" without even thinking, it just came out. Also that light that was filling me completely went away when the hand left and the intensity of the joy also left but some of it also lingered behind. Kind of like how you still feel warm after getting out of a hot shower.
And I noticed my back didn't hurt after.. (but honestly who cares about that? after this deer in the headlights experience?)
Ever since then I'm like.. pumped to see the kingdom of God.
If you think I'm lying, keep in mind I have a UA-cam channel with one video that has almost a million views and I could put this experience on the channel and make money off of it but I refuse to do that. And this isn't for Christian-cred. I don't even go to church, though I wish I did.. and I recognize that probably most Christians wont believe me. It's too wild.

I have a great-uncle who had a tendon detach in his upper arm. He had to get a screw in his back to hold the tendon in place. He underwent a lot of PT to be able to regain use of that arm again. Later, the doctors discovered the screw had come loose so they'd need to reattach it, requiring a lot more PT. Before the surgery, they did a scan as they do before surgeries to make sure it's necessary. They found that while the screw had come loose, the tendon had been able to reattach!

Back when I was still 16 in high-school, I had a real aching tonsilitis in my neck so I couldn't eat or drink without hurting a ton inside my neck. So, fast forward to a couple of days later when my family and I were attending church like usual at Sunday noon, the pastor for that day had this usual gathering for people who have illnessess and be prayed on stage for healing, but since I was still pretty nervous I didn't go up stage with the others and stayed on the seats while continuing to pray like everyone else. Not even a couple seconds later, the feel of aching in my neck because of my tonsilitis began to go away and die down, as I was clearly shocked like anyone could be and immediately grabbed my mom's water bottle in her bag to drink, just to make sure if i was just feeling something weird. But wouldn't you know it, my tonsilitis was indeed gone and my neck felt normal again after that. I told my mom while we were eating with my sister after that and she was definitely thrilled and praised the Lord after seeing my sudden change. ❤❤

I think something that should be noted is I hope people don't hear these things and then expect miraculous healing due to their devotion or lack thereof. Being healed is a blessing, to be sure, but it should NOT be an expectation nor a replacement for actual medical care. Live your life without the expectation, and you may just be pleasantly surprised

As a younger man, I developed chronic pain in my back. My parents took me to a prayer meeting on Wednesday night. I was prayed over, felt a warm sensation on my back, and never had that pain come back chronically.
I prayed over an old farmer's knee for the pain he was experiencing to go away. Nothing happened the first two times. When I prayed a third time he said the pain was gone and his face changed to a big smile.
I was addicted to pornography for most of my life. During an inner healing session (emotions, memories, trauma, soul ties, etc.) the facilitator had a phrase pop into his mind after I told him what I was seeing in my imagination. What I saw was a hooded figure underneath a staircase. The phrase he got was "dungeons and dragons" and asked what that meant to me. I revealed that I was running campaigns with my kids, working on world-building and buying books, miniatures, and resources to play the game system. He said to give that up so I sold everything. It felt like the temptation and desire went down by 90% and felt manageable for the first time in a 20+ year battle.

We have almost 100 board games that we play as a family on the regular and I’m looking into Star Wars RPG right now, so not all is lost in fact, more has been gained for my family, especially into the future as my kids grow up without their father being under the influence of that dark addiction.

I was born with a severe case of Pulmonary Atresia. Long story short, my pulmonary valve failed to detach from my heart, resulting in me being born a “blue baby” and requiring open heart surgery at three days old to save my life. During the surgery, doctors removed the tissue that should’ve been my pulmonary valve, and for the first two years of my life I basically had a hole in my heart.
On top of Pulmonary Atresia, I was born with Cystic Fibrosis. The two of those things combined should have killed me, even with intense medical intervention. In fact, my doctors tried to convince my parents to take me off life support once (thank God they didn’t).
When I was a toddler, doctors inserted a stent in my heart to act as a temporary pulmonary valve till I was old enough to get a pig valve inserted there. But, three years later, doctors discovered that I had an unusually high pulse-ox, as well as an unusually low heart rate (my heart was no longer beating super fast, and I had more oxygen in my blood than before). When they looked at my heart via the echocardiogram (which, at the time, was something I got every three months), they saw that a brand new, fully formed and functioning pulmonary heart valve had grown in my heart, using the stent as scaffolding to grow.
While my original cardiologist (and the doctor who lead my surgery) has since retired, I still see one of his students (who was in med school when I was a baby and participated in my heart surgery) every few years for my cardiology check-ups, and he has absolutely no explanation how my heart valve spontaneously grew back when I was five years old.
I’m now 23. Not only is my heart not an issue, but neither is my Cystic Fibrosis. I’m not entirely “normal”. I still need to take lots of medications to stay healthy. But, per my last doctor’s appointment a couple weeks ago, my weight is perfect and my FEV1 lung function is 125%.
If none of those things constitute as miracles of God, then I don’t know what does.

Lemme tell you a story. My father suffered a heart attack past year. His heart was so big he was nearly dead, he was going to the heart transplant list. And there when he was nearly dying, he saw light, he saw 'Santa Maria de Fátima' (St. Mary of Fatima), and there he was healed by God. His heart got back to normal. I was nearly being a lukewarm Christian at that time, but then when that happened, I repented and turned back to the right way. Thank you Jesus, and that the Grace of the Lord be all with those who read the comment, amen.

I very vaguely remember watching the last example/interview before, years ago. The other examples were amazing as well.
My uncle had a tumor on the back of his tongue in his throat years ago. They couldn't cut it out. He had to have a tube in his throat, among other things. He had people including my mom pray for him in the hospital. Then one day, while he was leaving his house, he started coughing and coughed up that tumor and was free of cancer.
Unfortunately, he had a stroke a couple of years ago. Which caused a little brain damage, but thankfully it didn't really impair him in any way.. And then 2 days ago, he was cutting a tree limb while on a 25 foot ladder and the limb swung around the tree and knocked his ladder out from under him and he fell. He's currently in the hospital. He has bleeding in his brain, and he has swelling around his left shoulder and arm area. But they can't scan it because it's too swelled, and they haven't given him anything but Tylenol because of the bleeding in his brain.
He's conscious and wants to go home.. But man, he's had a lot of trials and tribulations when it comes to his physical wellbeing.

Right now there is no cure for full blindness so when blindness is cured there is no way to describe what cured it other than God.

I will admit, I have a belief in naturalism that makes it difficult for me to believe in the concept of miracles, but lacking other explanations means I have no authority to reject it either.
Another question I would have is why must 'God' be a conscious entity, couldn't it be possible that it's an infinite supernatural process, rather than specifically someone with an infinite mind?

It would be interesting to find instances of anti-miracles (curses?) where people were suddenly struck with an unexplained affliction like St. Paul going blind. The ex-blind man's story made me think of Paul. Maybe going blind and regaining was all a part of getting his brain cleansed. IDK, interesting to think about.

One question I have about modern miracles in general is how does it work specifically? Obviously this would have to be a mix of theology and science that should agree, but by all accounts we should be able to look at how people are healed and get a sense of why.
What conditions does God heal? Because this is actually a very good question I dont have a solid answer on personally. Because we know there are times when He doesnt. And we know God isnt random, changing day by day. God is constant.
Im not even trying to say I would disagree with how God heals, I cant say I would do better than God. I just want to know the conditions.

the problem is theres most likely many reported cases of faith healings of people attributed to other religions that are mutually exclusive to each other (i.e muslims being healed after drinking zamzam water, or hindus healed after making offering to a temple, etc)

Now I wont take that to mean I should immediately agree with catholic doctrine, but at the very least I have to admit there is something special about the pilgrimage site if nothing else. There may be an issue with the CURED principle: healing is not always done on a dramatic basis. We as humans have a narrow concept of time so to require the qualification of an instant may be folly. God is outside of time and delivers in ways beyond our imagination. We can't even know when the healing process begins, can we? I only pint this out because the question of hope is at stake here. Maybe people may give up on God's deliverance if they are seeing instant results. There are biblical examples of healing/deliverance taking place in phases as well.
Hey, I know this is not related to the video, sorry, but what is your take on evolutionism? The overwhelming proof for evolution is one of the reasons that make me skeptical of the gospels.
I am not in a scientific position to judge, but I have a biologist friend who has a PhD in evo biology who rejects evolution on the basis of his evaluation of the evidence. For me, if Jesus rose from the dead, then who cares how God brought about creation? I don't see evolution as incompatible with Christianity, so I don't really care about the topic very much.
Evolution doesn't disprove the Bible in any way. It only explains how life evolved, not how it began. The Bible doesn't say anything about how old the earth is.
While I no longer struggle with this point as a barrier to faith, I understand where you may be coming from. The way I see it, the theory of evolution can be a stumbling block from two angles: either the nature of the Bible as literal history or the implications of suffering before the Fall. Both of these, I would argue, come from modern misconceptions about the nature of Scripture.
The first challenge asserts that the theory of evolution is inconsistent with Scripture because it contradicts the Seven Days of Creation in Genesis 1. In fact, it does not contradict Genesis, but rather contradicts a modern, shallowly literal misunderstanding of Genesis 1, and the first part of Genesis as a whole, which, while recounting basically historical events (the Creation, the Fall of Adam and Eve, Noah's Flood, Abraham, etc.) often uses symbolism to make theological arguments. For instance, in Genesis 1 we see God create night and day, the sky and sea, and the ground with vegetation, and then he creates agents to govern each of these: the sun, moon, and stars to govern night and day; the birds and fish to govern the sky and sea, and land animals to govern the ground and vegetation. The events of days 1-3 are paralleled by days 4-6. For a very thorough and informative explanation of the symbolism in the first part of Genesis, I recommend the series on Genesis by InspiringPhilosophy here on UA-cam.
This brings me to the second challenge. Today, we often envision Creation before the Fall to be perfect and without suffering, with suffering being brought into the world by the Sin of Adam and Eve. This is a modern misreading of the text which reads our own ideas into places where they do not actually exist in the text. If one reads the text in context of the Ancient Near East (the InspiringPhilosophy series handles this second challenge as well), the words God uses when telling Adam and Eve to "subdue the land" are very warlike, essentially telling Adam and Eve to "conquer the land" and turn it from a chaotic state into an ordered state. This also goes into the meaning of being made in God's Image, but I will end my comment here. I seriously urge you to watch the Genesis series I mentioned if you are not already familiar with it, it was eye-opening for me on more than just this point.
I'm an Evangelical Christian who agrees with the Big Bang and Evolution.
I'm a theistic evolutionist and my interpretation of Genesis 1 isn't some new interpretation. According to ancient near eastern scholars such as John Walton, Genesis 1 is a temple text and each "day" corresponds to a day in the 7 day Temple dedication in Jerusalem.
People in the ancient near east viewed the world through chaos and order and funtion. If something didn't have a funtion, it was desolate.
For example, Jeremiah(who lived in Judah) stated that the northern kingdom of Israel that got destroyed was formless and void in Jeremiah 4.
*It was formless and void because it was back to being in a chaotic wild state*
Genesis 1 was God giving order and funtion to a universe he already created. The Bible Scholar Dr. John Walton explains that at the beginning God first created the universe, but it was in its wild and chaotic state.
Then each day of creation is God as King making decrees of order and giving funtion to different aspects of the Earth so that they will funtion in relation to human society.
*The world was seen as desolate because it was an uninhabited wilderness. God's command to early humans before the fall was for them to spread over the Earth and subdue it under God's rule. As well as create society and rule with God in his Divine Council. The fall ruined that. I believe that Adam and Eve were the first priest and the Garden functioned like a first temple*
With the ancient near eastern view of Genesis 1 in mind, young earth creationism is shown to not be the intent of the author and therefore implies that if God exists evolution is in no conflict with the Bible. God was taking a universe he already created and making it His Cosmic Temple. I recommend checking out InspiringPhilosophy's videos on why Evolution is Compatible with Christianity
Jordan Peterson’s wife has a miracle documented as well and it’s here in UA-cam. It’s rather recent, I believe it was a rare disease with no cases of recovery if I remember correctly. She lost a ton of weight and on the way to dying pretty much, couldn’t eat much. But one day, after many months of prayer with a stranger, she was completely fine and doctors couldn’t explain the recovery.

I do lean towards cessationism, but have experienced things personally that I cannot explain other than a miracle, particularly a woman I know (another Reformed Baptist) who has had multiple accurate and helpful prophetic dreams that usually serve to prepare and comfort others right before they're about to go through hard times. She's also had a dream about my wife and I that has not yet come to pass, but I honestly think will.

Me and my friends met an old lady who had her right leg shorter than the left, she had come out of a femur surgery i think, my friend knows the details better, she was walking in one of those walking support things. We prayed for her to be healed and we saw her leg growing back to normal, it was so crazy she started laughing...
Or one could read the life of Gabriel Urgebadze or the life of John Maximovitch and see that miracles do still happen.
These are quite compelling but I find it difficult to attribute these so called miracles to a god or supernatural event. We obviously don’t fully understand the human body yet and to fill that gap with “God did it” is a bit presumptuous. I’m sure non religious people have these kinds of recoveries but it’s less likely we hear about them, as they wouldn’t be considered miracles. Sure, we have people’s personal testimonies, but in near death experiences for example, those can wildly differ and it is very hard to tell whether what they are saying is true.
We also know that miracles happen in other religions and those are extremely hard to attribute to a Christian god.
"If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’-which you have not known-‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul." dt 13:1-3. even if these are legits healings, it does not change the fact that the NT says miracles would be limited to the 1stC and the time of the apostles. that which is perfect has come, and we have come to the unity of the faith, 1cor 13:8-10, eph 4:13. this occurred when the NT was fully revealed and no longer needed the confirmation of miracles

Things that "everyone knows" about czarist Russia are often complete rubbish. There is an ocean of disinformatoin about that time and place in history, and the people in it.
If you read the primary accounts, you can see many examples clearly showing why people thought he was genuine. For example, when Alexei as a baby was so injured from his hemophilia that the skin around his eyes was black, and his legs were swollen, his fever was high, etc, all these symptoms went away after a few hours when Rasputin came and prayed for him. This happened not once, but many times. Maybe medical science has progressed since then, but the doctors at the time couldn't make sense of it scientifically. These symptoms shouldn't heal that fast.
I've read that doctors used Aspirin as a panacea back then. Apparently they were giving it to Alexei (which is now a known blood thinner, the worst thing you can give a hemophiliac) and Rasputin simply threw out the pills. Thus, Alexei's hemophilia improved.

We can never prove or disprove God. Most people think of God in physical sense the same way we think of man, We do not need proof to have faith but we receive proof because of Faith. These stories might plant a seed but there will always be doubt as to if these people are lying or not. God proves himself to us with our own proof Rev 1:1920

In my opinion the fact that life itself exists is a miracle.. how do you explain existence itself, the purpose , the birth of consciousness or something forming out of nothing.. the precise mathematical calculation of the universe , day and night circles , the sun, the moon, the stars etc.. the only evidence of life is life itself, the only evidence of the universe is the universe itself. You can’t logical explain how or why. It’s a shame that so called reason has made existence itself seem so ordinary but if you think about it, it is a miracle.
Reading so many comments here... I'm sorry to tell you but coincidences exist at a lot of scales and probably most "miracles" can be explained with more investigation put into them.

Apologists are consistently decades behind the rest of scholarship and focus on figures popular in media, which is why their arguments rarely have much impact on broader scholarship.
As an example from this video, German modernity is about 100 years outdated by this point. Gerd Lüdemann's "The Resurrection of Jesus: History, Experience, Theology" was published 30 years ago and was kind of a "last gasp" for this perspective.
Even the Jesus Seminar, publishing around the same time and of which Lüdemann was a member, supported that the historical Jesus performed miracles. Bart Ehrman, who does not think the historical Jesus performed miracles, has had to write to defend his case in secular scholarship because of how common the belief in the historical Jesus' miracles are!
The reason skeptics dismiss the historicity of the Gospels varies widely and has little to do with Humean philosophy. It's very vapid rhetoric to claim so.
(Btw, I am a Christian and have experienced miracles before. That doesn't change the fact that this is just a bad argument.)

Listen, I get that not everything is about saying, "Well, there are miracles, so they must be false." Not everyone thinks that way. Critics bring up issues like redaction, contradictions, and historical errors as problems with the Gospels. But a lot of these guys do double down and drink from the fountain of Hume and it is partially why they can treat the text with a different standard. I have sat and listen to lectures on the historical Jesus that are just 10 years old and the prof will flat out say "miracles don't happen"

You proved my point. Faced with my critique, you jumped to critique a different celebrity scholar. Ehrman is the exception here, which is precisely why he's had to defend all miracles in the Gospels as theological teaching devices via form criticism. This is not the standard.
Spending any amount of time in Mainline Protestant circles, particularly slightly more theologically moderate ones like Duke Divinity and the UMC, is a quick lesson in this fact. Leading scholars with real, deep faith in literal Nicene Creed Christianity nonetheless accept the findings of critical scholarship in regards to the historicity of many miracles.
