Hey thanks for watching! I’ve heard about the Spark amp but never had the chance to try it out. I guess it’s similar to the Marshall Code? One thing I know is that what I’ve paid for both Epiphone and Fly 3 was cheaper than most modern options, really budget friendly if you get them secondhand
I have not heard of that Marshall code but you have peaked my interest. I’ve owned countless amps over the years, and this is far superior to anything I have ever owned for what I use it. I only play on smaller amps now it’s got a bunch of different amp models and pedals but I really only use the Marshall plexi /Tube screamer. The spark “Control” is a must to buy with it. Before this I swore by my Blackstar, as I travel for work and need stuff that I can easily carry on an airplane. Sorry for the novel 🙃
Just picked up the head version of the valve junior and running through a 12" speaker. Super fun and responsive, very affordable and a gem IMO. Nice playing too BTW!
@@tomintardonato8331 the cab is really nice, fits the amp really well sound wise and the look of the combination also has a great aesthetic. One tip I have: they used the wrong transformer for the Valve jr. as they bought transformers in bulk for multiple different projects. If you ever consider doing one mod, it should be to change the transformer for the right type.
Hey, thanks for watching and sharing your feedback! 🙏 And absolutely, great little amps! I’ve replaced my speaker too, I bought it cheap because the original speaker wasn’t in good shape. Check out my Layla tribute video, it’s only the valve Jr a guitar and a cable, no pedals or fancy EQ’s! All recorded into a Zoom recorder and a SM57 mic 😬
Fly 3 is a neat little portable amp. I have a vox blues headphone amp. Really cool plugged into the auxiliary channel of the Black Star. You need a small stereo mini cable, but worth it. Good playing and nice sounds. I want to get a 5 w tube amp.
Thanks for the demo. I have this amp for harmonica (it has a great tone for harmonica). Question, for recording, I find the amp has a huge 'buzz' when the volume goes past 11 o'clock. I have opened it up and clipped off all the access wires from the transformer (something that was suggested by an amp tech on you tube). I changed the tube. Does your's buzz? If not, did you do anything to modify it to stay quiet? If not, how can you record with all that buzzing? Thanks again -I enjoyed this video.
Thanks for watching! I've replaced the original Epiphone speaker for a Celestion 8" 25w (If my memory don't fail me). Got it online and replaced it myself, pretty easy improvement to make. I hope that was helpful!
Oh shit I have both of these but only play my spark positive grid now

I haven’t tried yet using a 12” speaker. What impedance was the cab you tried?
@@GlaucoAlves Its the matching cab to the valve jr head, it is 16 ohm 70W or maybe 75 W the bigger speaker really broadens the tone

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Indeed those Fly 3 are simply great!
Glad I found your channel and first to comment. Good topic as most of us were on a budget in the beginning. Good luck mate, Fran.

What else do you need?
That sounded really good! What kind of speaker did you replace the valve jr with?

Hey there!
Sorry I’ve missed this!
It’s a celestion 8” 25 watts. Good and affordable
@@GlaucoAlves Thanks, I wonder if you meant Celestion eight 15W in 4ohm?
