The only downside is that by doing this you are also setting salary expectations for that Playing time - if they come in at 50K a week as important player, now they are fringe player at 50K a week, sometimes you fringe players might ask for his money too

The problem happens after you do that and the player comes in asking why the hell his status dropped. And then no matter what he gets annoyed
Only if you choose one where they say they will get annoyed, any status that doesn’t show that message before you choose it will work fine
There’s an option which says “theres a lot of completion in your role” sometimes they will drop the issue. It’s worked 100% of the time for me but I’ve only done it a few times so far.

There's no indication that they will get upset, but they do. At least they don't carry on moaning if you restore their status
If you tell them that there is a lot of competition in his role, they usually shut up and get on with football 🎉
There is a better one. Transfer listed him then change it to backup then immediately remove him from transfer list. This works to 90% of all players
This is exactly what I do, even world class players don’t complain about game time anymore
How do you remove a player from the transfer list?
This feels like shit SI development rather than intelligent managing.
Considering players often get mad at you for dropping their promised playing time this doesn't really work but 50-50
works every time as long as the warning message about them potentially getting mad avoided, only select playing times that won't make them mad
@fmscout I guess that's new. I've put about 6,000 hours into fm up to fm21 and it only shows their reaction after you change playing time so you just have to hope
@@MelonHead1848Yeah and depending on how good of a run your team is making, sometimes you could persuade them into accepting a lower playing time by saying it’s just for tactical reasons, especially if you’re trying to get quality signings to back them up as well. Also check back every season as well since time could also influence them a bit

It DOESNT WORK! Tried it with 5 players, 2 of them immediately kicked up a fuss
You must choose a playing time that doesn’t come with a message saying they will get upset
I did!
You can also transfer list them and then change their playing time to anything and then take them off again! Works every time!
It might be that the players don't have agents. Then the message won't appear
This only works with players who have an agent
Well you can't know beforehand if he'll become upset but it's still worth trying to decrease it one step. You can always backtrack and revert it to the original with minimal issues

Gaffer makes the decisions
They are dropped because some of the player's ball like crap. Literally with some players, I have to wait for them to make a star after 3 seasons nahhhhh 🤨

i gave up on trying to make them happy it backfires in most of cases,as soon as i get complaining i put them on sale,i cant let individual ruin entire team,there is thousands of others who can replace that player
I m for player-rating through match 0-5 instead of 5-10. Start on 2,5 and can go down to 0 on bottom and up to 5 on top.
Literally just go to your staff meetings
In PC you can right click on player name, click squad and find agreeable playing time.
Players in fm are like little children
Can you do this on console version?
Haven't seen that before. Usually I'm on good enough form that they accept being squad players. If that doesn't work they only need to start the match. Actual playing time from starting doesn't matter. Paying from the bench doesn't work, even if they get more time than starting.

Your staff recommend players that need their agreed playing time changed in the weekly meetings
But it also risk of them getting mad, so it's better you check them yourself. Also sometimes they suggest my key players to drop down to important like wtf did that change 😂 it will only anger the players when I am still going to start them every game anyway.
