Nikon D3100 - Colorful Moments

- The photographer captured the everyday life of a family using the full HD size of D-Movie. "The most impressive thing about using the D3100 was its high-quality movie images utilizing a softened background, one of the benefits of shooting movies with digital SLRs. Joyful family memories emerged from ordinary scenes by being reproduced more vividly in a larger frame. Also, easy selection of settings using Guide Mode, according to each scene allowed me to shoot as I had imagined." This movie demonstrates the future movie-recording standard, D-Movie, capturing precious moments quickly and beautifully in full HD size.
What cute friggin KIDS!!!!!!
哈哈~單眼就有這麼優質的效果真是讓人心動, 可是要蒐齊影片中出現的鏡頭我會傾家蕩產啊!!
entry level camera no manual controls or external mic people wait for the d90 replacement or d5100, or d300x
nikon kicks ass
@TheEricBooth Yeah, I noticed that too. I didn't see very much rolling shutter either, but they could have edited it out and the shooting style was relatively steady. Interested to see the footage from other people when it is released.
Cool
@Bosingr If you'd only noticed the annotation at the start of the video....
On the video side of things I want to see how the continuous auto focus works when tracking a subject.
Because everyday life involves fields of flowers. XD
@ar4216 I can't seem to find any info on manual controls. That would be a bummer because thats all I really want! The AF is nice, the new codec is nice (although it looks like it is even more compressed than the t2i, which is not so nice) but for me manual control is king. Maybe they are saving it for the D90 replacement!
I'm not sure what the issue is here with "blown highlights" - the video is a tad overexposed for sure. That's not the fault of the camera, but the shooter. The "pale" colors - there is no mention as to what Picture Settings the video was shot on. Could have been neutral for all we know. Anyways, don't most DSLR video shooters shoot in neutral and do everything in post anyways?
Really appreciated the lens annotations and it looks WAY better than my D90. Of course that's not much of a stretch ;-).
Sooo, I'm guessing the exposure lock button was hidden in the battery compartment?
sorry but whats with the perfect family buzz? and where did the asian kid come from? looks like someone had some fun with the house-keeper or something - (arnie you bold) anyhoo got a deposit on one of these cameras now :) cant wait to get snap happy!
@F3RGIE if u waited this long to get the d5000, dont hesistate, but... if u really want the benefits of the new d3100, then you HAVE to wait for it :)
@F3RGIE Because of this, the D5000 is now obsolete. In other words, wait for this.
If this is promotional ?? then why is video not in 1080P ..bad marketing I must say :(
i cant get mine to shoot in HD....first it would only do 720p so i messed with it to get 1080 and now its only like 240!!! please i need help!
People PLEASE. I need an answer. Should i get THIS or the CANON EOS 500d/T1i???
Could anyone see any examples of autofocus working in the middle of a clip? Possibly at 1:29, not much though.
@JogBird Im ordering the T1i.. Its just as good as the T2i. Nobody can really tell the difference between 15 and 18mpx photos right? Seriously there isnt much difference
@KEBokeh I know what good is and Ken Rockwells work would not be allowed in a professional gallery. There are standards out there for quality work, and Ken Rockwell does not meet those standards, this is a fact. He is a gear head, not an artist. If you are in the arts and can not take a critique, you won't last long because that is what happens - it is not a shame.
@frankgrizzo *chuckle* I have to admit, I don't care much for his people photos. Although mostly sharp and well exposed they are kind of just...blah.
As a noob I do find his reviews quite helpful though.
Looks like a great camera, but honestly speaking, the sound of the name is just ugly LOL.
D3100...
*shivers*
@KEBokeh Ken Rockwell doesn't know how to shoot a camera. When Ken figures out how to shoot good photos, then maybe people will listen.
Crappy music ! nikon needs to learn how to make adds...
Every clip looks so over exposed.... A professional video should not look like this IMO
