What’s amazing is that nobody else really reported on the cheapness of the final product Taarna figure. People just accepted the poor quality. It’s really weird.
Must have something to do with how rare a figure like Taarna is. - Like the Super7 Thundercats. Nobody else is making these figures, Including Taarna, so people turn a blind eye to the horrendous "slap in the face" QC, and accept it for what it is.
My Hellwitch broke one elbow too and BBTS sent me a pair of full arms. What is see is LC is a very new company finding its footing. The prices maybe from the small quantity and licensing fees. The good thing about them is they are a lot more accessible than the big companies and they show willingness to improve. They changed the LD hip style on HW, the HW elbows were retired and now they have an updated body on the new Coffin girls that looks good. Hyde is one of my top10 this year. If they continue listening to fans, improving and produce bigger quantity to lower the prices, they will become a very good toy company. I hope they do because we need more of them.
That's what I'm hoping for. I'm not just attacking them or trying to start drama or anything. This is just my honest opinion from a collector point of view on the quality of their product. Obviously if they improve on everything I've pointed out, I'll be the first one to praise them for it.
I’m still super tempted by that La Muerta, but the price and info like this really have me holding fire, I’m not a fan of toys I need to be afraid to play with
Like I said, they're supposedly retooling almost everything on the newer figures. Stronger joints, double jointed elbows etc, so she may end up being great. My biggest issue besides the figures straight up breaking, is the blatant false advertising they're STILL selling these figures with on their sites.
No these are just not worth it. Look at the pain and disappointment of the first people who bought these and take heed of what they’re saying. They aren’t lying. The money you were going to spend on this could be better spent on that SH Figuarts or deluxe Marvel Legend you didn’t get. There’s better ways to spend your money than on poor quality figures. Hell I would rather army build with four valaverse figures to use with my other figures than waste that money on one poorly made piece with limited playability. Just saying.
You've had a lot of bad luck! I'm happy with my Lady Death and Vampirella. I also have Shi. I'm actually going with Boss Fight Studios Red Sonja. The price issue is because of low production runs from a small company. Who else is making these characters...? That's why I've bought them.
Finally somebody said it! I was always thought this! everytime I watched reviews they looked nothing like promo. Most reviewers mention it, but on IG people praise these things 🥴
Maybe because these are very nich figures?.... I mean Red Sonja and Vampirela are not... They are already more than well established characters but these bad girls were more of an 90's thing I guess??? I'm worried because of Shi that is going to come out.... The price is 10 shy from 100 if I recall correctly and if they haven't worked all of this out?!? Hmmm... I don't see it going forward 😥
You are absolutely right and so many people complain about ML that ,for a third of the price, deliver way better figures than some overpriced brands. You have got a new subscriber from Portugal. Keep it real and honest.
Wow. Kind of glad I’ve passed on these. I did not see the value on them but they have characters I’d like to have. Keeping away and hoping better show later.
That's one of the worst parts about this whole situation. Who else is going to make 1/12 Lady Death, Bettie Paige, La Muerta etc? I'm really hoping they get their shit together because they're the only ones making figures of these characters in this scale..
I also backed the Lady Death & was super pumped about these hyper sexualized femm fatales from the 90's!! Finally, we have good quality 1/12th figures of these characters. Alas, I wasn't the most ecstatic, when I got mine. I liked it well enough, certainly didn't feel like it was a $75 action figure. Way too top heavy & imbalanced because of the boobs & big hair. The hair also limits articulation way too much. Also, the tiny feet don't help with the balance or just standing the figure. Ultimately, as tempting as it was too have a line of these figures in this scale, I decided against it. I'll just stick to TBLeague 1/6th versions. I have all these characters & they look absolutely amazing!! They don't have any of the problems of the Executive Replica's ones. Although, the Hellwitch is twice the price of the others. A bit hard to swallow.
Glad you said this, more need to. Mr Hyde is great, but these female figs…Jada but worse & x3 the price is exactly the same analogy I made for them. Him doing custom paint jobs for his advertisements is wrong. Preordered chaotica to make an emma frost, not expecting the promo image at all.
The Rocketeer is what broken me for Loose Collector, there’s no way to justify $130 dollars for two Marvel Legends style figures. That’s import level pricing with none of the quality or the articulation.
Damn, I didn't even realize it was that much. I think that's more than what Mafex is charging for their TDKR Batman and horse deluxe set lol. Definitely doesn't seem worth it.
@@gnarkillguch sorry my bad, I meant $150 dollars, it’s worse. $150 buys you a lot of much better figures. $25 more dollars would have bought you the SH Figuarts Cooler and that figure is beautiful in its vacuu-chrome and matte silver, and it came with a ton of hands and 4 face sculpts.
@@paulrippcord506 That's even worse lmao. I've seen the shipped figures, and they don't look anywhere near worth that much. $80 for the set would have been pushing it.
Ultimately, they are plastic, and plastic isn’t indestructible. That’s exactly why I DO NOT COLLECT FIGURES IN THIS PRICE RANGE. The only figures I collect in this price range are Mezco One:12, and so far they are top notch!!! I’d rather pay for $25 Marvel Legends, as I do, and I won’t feel like I was fucked over if it breaks, but I haven’t had too many problems with Marvel Legends either!!! And, if I do, I know how to fix them…BUT HAVING TO FIX EXPENSIVE FIGURES WOULD PISS ME THE FUCK OFF EVEN MORE. Sorry you’re dealing with that shit.
I have all their figures they’ve made so far and my only gripe is with Lady Death because her ankles aren’t very tight and her hair weighs her down making it difficult to pose her. Also I replaced her cape with a cloth one because for the price their charging they should come with posable cloth capes. I haven’t ordered the next three pack although I think I’ll get the La Muerta figure. If you watch the Articulated Ninja review of Red Sonja he points out how the feet are too small and not flat on the bottom which contributes to their inability of standing well, so Loosecollector said they are reworking the feet for the next wave
It starts with the business structure. Using Lady Death as an example, Coffin Comics is the licensor, and Executive Replicas is the licensee. However, Executive Replicas is more like a “producer” that hires a “director” (in this case, Loose Collectibles) to design and manufacture the figures. Loose Collector had just begun the transition from being the GOAT of 1/12 customizers to designing and manufacturing his own figures. While he does have some valuable experience as an owner and operator of a handful of family businesses in the Philippines, it was a big jump. It’s definitely a niche line, and in my opinion, it’s very dated, from the original source material, to the key principals involved, to the figures themselves. For collectors under 30, this really is “your father’s action figure company.” So in my mind, I can somewhat reconcile the differences between what we’re paying for and what we’re getting, at least aesthetically. There’s never an excuse for poor QC though. As for the false advertising, that’s another throwback to the late 90s and early 00s when factory paint apps couldn’t hold a candle to a professionally hand painted prototype. Digital printing has pretty much eliminated that problem in most contemporary lines.
I got Hellwitch x2. I missed out on Lady Death and was sure she was going to be a good figure that appreciated over time. I always thought the elbow joints were ugly, but I was super careful with the joints to prevent them from breaking and the rest of the figure was fine. ...except for the wings. Their paint was good but the feel of that plastic they used, like cheap dinner plates, just made me nervous. I was sure that one drop would be all it would take to make those wings shatter into pieces.
So I have the same prob with my lady death except both legs popped off and continue to do so.....your comment about the dry spaghetti is spot on lol! Keep up the good work 👏
I know it's the older video but I think you have to understand that all those other companies you mentioned they make tens of thousands of those figures this company's not doing that they don't have the infrastructure to pull off what Hasbro and all those other companies can do no excuse mind you but I think that's the main reason why they charge so much
Like I said, I'm hoping that with these new figures on the horizon that they've ironed out all the QC and paint app problems. I'd love to be more positive and supporting of these guys, but they've made it basically impossible for me to do so.
The oposite leg on my lady death figure came off as well. I was able to fix it with crazy glue. What you have to do is find the original oriantaion to the peg and the whole and clean it good from old glue. I hope this helps anyone
I had 5 of these in my cart on bbts including 3 preorders. I’ve never owned one but they looked great for my display. Great video man, glad to see y’all are alright.
Thanks for this video. (I'll try to get to the Taarna vid later.) I love these characters, but can't afford these LC/ER figures. Disappointing to hear about the quality. Sonja looks pretty good to me except for the bags under her eyes.
I agree with EVERYTHING you've mentioned. When LooseCollector "tweaked" Red Sonja's original face sculpt, I became real skeptical. And when I received it in-hand, I was really disappointed. All the joints were loose and the overall quality felt/looked real cheap (which didn't justify the higher price point). That Taarna figure was a complete disaster, and I'm glad I held off on pre-ordering that. The Hellwitch figure (I forget which part broke) immediately broke once I removed it from the packaging. I had to reach out to the company to get a replacement part, which they eventually publicly acknowledged after the fact. And that chest piece? What a joke, it doesn't even stay on the body for long. The only superior figure is their first Lady Death figure. Thanks for keeping it real.
Yea some people think I'm being malicious or mean, but I'm literally just talking about what I've personally seen and experienced with this line. Judging by the comments like yours and others, I'm not even close to being alone on this. I don't hate LC, I just want them to improve and put out stuff that is ACTUALLY worth the asking price, and if I have to be the "asshole" that points out the flaws in their product, then so be it.
I agree on the paint apps and lack of accessories for the price we are paying. These things should be spectacular since it is not a huge company like hasbro. The eyes are to far apart too imo. Unfortunately there making the best reputation of these figures we have seen there QC just sucks
Brother, you are not alone. The minute I tried to remove Lady Death’s head the peg snapped. I also had the broken leg, just like you said, the peg in the crotch l, SUCKS!!! I still have Red Sonja and Vampirella still in box, kinda in fear of them breaking too. I presently have La Muerta on pre order for next year, with my fingers crossed. They cost too much, to break so easy. I’m with you. I’m going to steer away from Loose Collector’s figures.
Like I said in the video, there's nothing worse than dropping $50+ on something, only to have it fall apart and break in your hands. It sucks you had to deal with that. As far as Vampirella and Sonja go, they don't feel as fragile so I assume they'll be fine to open and mess with.
I was thinking about getting into this line, doing some research and stubbled upon your video. Thanks for highlighting the QC issues as I was not expecting that.
For what it’s worth, I did receive Critter from BBTS a couple of days ago, and I’ve tested all of the POA without any breakage. Overall, I’d say she’s an “A” by the line’s standards, and a “C+” by 6” to 7” standards in general. I’ll have to go back and work with Red Sonja a bit as she’s the only other Loose Collector figure I have besides the infamous Taarna.
Great and very appreciated honest review. I have a Purgatori waiting for a review on my other channel but now I'm afraid to as these are not cheap for how cheap they seem to be. One question. Did you do the boiling/hot water method first before moving them around? Mind you, you shouldn't have to, but curious if you did or not as it seems to help with some figures (like Valaverse, by their own admission).
I didn't heat them up before I articulated them, no. Maybe I should have, but like you said it shouldn't be a thing you need to do with a premium priced product. Based on other comments, it seems like Purgatori doesn't have any severe QC problems, but I'd still be careful.
Boss fight studios, red Sonja will blow this trash out of the water. I’m actually canceling my Wicked 3 preorder. I hate the basic articulation bare minimum accessories
I just discovered this brand and i was really hyped because i wanted to potentially make some custom figs (like wonder woman) would u not recommend these body molds?
@@dariodavis56 Well LooseCollector gives you just that with slightly more articulation in places and unfortunately yes I do recommend Legends. It's my preferred platform for customs because there's a lot of part variety and if we're talking Wonder Woman then the new Power Princess is perfect for that, I literally just made a Wonder Woman custom using that body (with some new sculpting here and there) with very minimal paint I have an excellent 1/12 Diana (not to brag or anything).
I was just making a list of must get Figures Vampirella & Lady Death now watching this Video I'm Skeptic about buying although I only & display Them & Take photography. So now I'll put them in the back burner only well buy them if on sale @ a reasonable price. Thanks for the heads up.
Hope it helps you make an educated decision on any purchases. Vampirella isn't as fragile as the others, but she definitely does not look anywhere near as good as the promo pics would have you believe.
I got the Taarna fig this year from BBTS. Overpriced but it was the best price at the time lol. I must have an updated one cause it looks much closer to the expectation pic. Has good paint shading and the face is great. I also got the Hellwitch fig but I have not taken it out of the box yet. I’m waiting for a better display set up. I was planning on getting the Chaotica fig but the only place I see it currently is executive replicas. I got the Hellwitch from Coffin directly so I was curious if Coffin would have Chaotica as well 🤔 but it’s low on my priority list.
Great video. I bought the BBTS Black Vampirella. I haven't had any problems so far, but she's not much better than a ML female figure. Im really tempted by that Red Sonja... It looks like they are improving as they move along. This wave has been better than the previous waves, so Im hoping that the next wave will have better articulation. Im already committed. I pre-ordered Chaotica and La Muerta.
I have the Monster Hyde figure by them and although I love it, the paint on him comes off WAY too easily. Like I can lightly scratch him with my nail and make a line of paint come off. 100 bucks is way too expensive when the QC is gonna be like that.
Absolutely agree! The only one I really like has been Purgatori! That Taarna saw early review immediately canceled my preorder and unfortunately huge Vampirella didn't like the face sculpt so canceled! I did preorder Shi & La Muerta an debating on Santanus.
I've been saying that these ain't worth the price. 75$ for marvel legends quality? Really? And I know exactly what you're talking about because my Hellwitch's arm snapped right off when I first tried to pose her, and the ankles on Lady Death are atrocious. My Red Sonja and Purgatori are good, though, I haven't opened Vampirella. So yeah, you're not crazy, I've experienced the same thing, and I almost made a video, but I lost interest to.
I was tempted to buy these as I've been a Lady Death collector but wow! I'm glad I passed on these. At this rate I'll probably just end up buying a 3D printer and search for STL files to do my own. I can re-learn to paint figures since I haven't done it in years. But this is gouging the customer.
Yea, I think I might just jump on the TBleague figures and leave it at that. I'm not a huge fan of the... "anatomically correct" silicone bodies, but overall I think they look really cool.
I recently picked up Red Sonja for a steal at only $50aud and the figure surprised me how good a quality it was. Only issue was that one ankle joint was locked. Totally sucks that you've supported the line with all your purchases and they've failed on multiple occasions. I really want the Vampirella, Lady Death and Taarna... and maybe Hellwitch too now that u mentioned she comes with t*ts 😂 but they are so damn expensive, especially down here in Australia they're very hard to get. But now this video has made me realise maybe I don't NEED them. Great video rant mate. You got a new sub 🙋🏻♂ Down Under 🇦🇺
I was also disappointed by the Red Sonja when I realized the paint was different, but at the same time, it's a Red Sonja figure that doesn't look like a doll with Barbie hair, and adding in a Maxbird cape, it's still one of if not the one favorite figure of my collection. I didn't notice as big a difference if any in their Shi figure compared to what I got, so maybe things are improving with them.
Thanks for the video man. I got my Hellwitch in, and since I watched this video I was very careful with the joints. The injection molding looks like it has flashing that was not removed completely, which causes inconsistent levels of tightness. I soaked her in hot water and moved all the joints around to wear off the flashing. Now she moves like she should of out of the box. It isn't all that uncommon, my Mezco Thanos has an arm that wont bend fully, but I would have to remove his shirt to assess the issue. Where this figure misses the mark IMO is the feet and ankles. An action figure that can't stand on its own is a bit disappointing. At least the Hellwitch can use the wings to help stand.
My Lady Death had a wrist joint snap on one of her hands. I suppose I've got off easy so far. Now I apply heat whenever changing her hands. It put me off buying any others, plus as you said, the promo pics are night and day compared to what you get. MAJOR disappointment. Vampirella's face really bummed me out most of all. Add in the price, and just forget it!
I'm interested in their upcoming werewolf figures, but never heard of the company before and wanted to look into them. After watching your video, maybe I'll skip preordering and wait to see reviews on the figures first. I'm already concerned that the painting on the gray werewolf seems to switch between gray and blueish between their own images....
Imo Lady Death looks really bad compared to prototype her face and hair blend in way too much. My hellwitch also broke right away at elbow joint, I thankfully got replacement although I gotta admit Hellwitch is the only that that is somewhat closest to prototype everyone else is just ok. But yeah in reality it’s low end 20 dollar figures for 70. Only good thing for this line is amazing character selection and sexiness.
Convinced me not to buy Lady Death. The other three so far haven't broken. I find the joints on these figures are super tight right out of the package. I brace the joints when moving them cause it feels like they will break. They could be cheaper. $50 max. They are targeting Adults with disposable income with these. If you compare these tk the 6" phicen versions (I don’t have) of Vamperilla, Red Sonja, and Purgatory, they are about $80 and look to come with more accessories.
The only thing I don't like about the TBleague/Phicen ones are the faces. They have that creepy sex doll look to them, and there's no emotion or anything. Just blank glassy stares.
@@gnarkillguchhaving seen a 1/12 scale tbleaque/phicen body for the first time, I noticed it has no rotation at the elbows. That limits posing quite a bit. Plus the silicon on the arms is too thin so when you move them, it feels like the silicon is going to tear. I'm probably going to avoid 1/12 phicen figures unless they update the articulation.
Only figure by them I have is Purgatori. Only issue I had was one knee joint was stuck which a little hot water fixed. Joints otherwise are good. Tight but not too tight and the plastic doesn't feel brittle on it. Heads and hands swap no problem without issue and didn't require heat. I have reposed her a lot and nothing loose yet. Paint and shading looks good. Hopefully this will be the norm going forward. Only critique is the hair pieces could be tighter. they fit nice and snug but come off too easy. I completely understand your frustration.
I’m glad you made this video. Been thinking about the BBTS Vampirella. My thing is when someone makes a video review and does NOT fully tweak poses. Marvel legends can be fully posed bad sculpt or not. When I buy SHFiguarts and Figma I have no worries. They set the bar. Top notch always. I’m taken back on why no one ever has a bad thing to say about LC. It’s very suspicious. I’m glad I found your video. Thanks for the follow up review.
These figures are like the Super7 figures. Beautiful prototypes, and severely underwhelming production figures. QC and breakage aside, the difference in paint really destroys this line. The fact that Loosecollector sells his figure so much on the paintjob alone is really a huge issue, since the factories they use just aren't up to par with the paint job. Like not even close. If he could make beautiful figures based solely on sculpt and only a bit of paint, I think the discrepancy between proto and production wouldn't be that huge. But he can't, so here we are. The only thing Loosecollector has above Hasbro at this point is character selection, and boob size. Since Hasbro seems unwilling to do the more cheesecake characters, and if they do them, they refrain from being comic accurate and cover up the boobs. That's all he has over Hasbro. That's not enough to sustain a line.
I was told to avoid S7 stuff pretty much verbatim to how you just put it lol. And yes, I really can't stand the blatant false advertising they get away with on these when it comes to the paint.
@@mikepowers9486 That's a shame. I've been tempted a few times by some of their stuff I've seen, but like I said I had been warned to stay away by multiple people.
So happy someone is calling out these figures’ goofiness. If I’m buying a figure for 75 bucks, I’m getting a mafex or figuarts, not these. The most annoying thing (that they’re thankfully fixing) is the single jointed elbows to me. I don’t even know (or care tbh) about these characters, but I know they need to move their arms further than 90 degrees. Only figure I want is La Muerta, even though I don’t know anything about her either, she looks cool, but then there’s 75 dollars that could go to a mafex I need or something. Just weird gooberness from these figures ngl
La Muerta is the main one they're supposedly retooling everything on and she has much better articulation than the first bunch, so she may be worth it. Guess we'll see.
I backed the Lady Death, while I didn't have any QC issues. I think it was overpriced and I went through the Coffin Comics website and they made it out that if I went through them I would receive a hand signed plate from Brian Pulido. I'm thinking one of those printed ceramic plates people collect with some cool Lady Death comic art. Nope it was a little clothing size cardboard tag with just his intials basically. I was like nope, never again with loose collector or going through Coffin Comics. It definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth.
They did the same to me when I ordered a special metal card of Lady Death from them. Thought the card would be autographed, or maybe a separate special card to go with it or something. Nope, same little tag with initials on it lol.
Lol. Was interested in the red sonia figure. That I saw the price... I know things are expensive especially for a third party or smaller companies but wow.. Didn't give it a second thought.
Check out the BossFight Studios Red Sonja if you haven't already. Comes with more accessories and heads than all of the LooseCollector stuff combined, and she looks better and costs less too.
I do occasional skits with Lady Death and Hellwitch over on the FB Group Sworn Nation and somehow have been blessed with not having such unfortunate breaks with the figures. After watching this though, makes me now more cautious with how I pose them for future skits 😅
Thanks for this video ! I live in France so to import one it's about 100€. I almost ordered Purgatori but if they all have the same problems I think I will be disappointed
Thanks for the vid, I feel validated LOL. Had the exact same issues with Lady D and Hellwitch, plus joints scraping their own plastic away. My Sonya exploded at the torso, just ended up bashing her with an Xesray figure. Only good one I've gotten is Purgatori...and honestly, she's nearly perfect. Really weird QC... fingers crossed for the next 3.
That's what I've gathered from other people commenting is that Purgatori is actually pretty decent. Sucks that you've had so many other QC issues with other figures though.
Great video. You have helped me decide on any of these rip-off figures, as I had been tempted to get one, or a few of them. I think I'll pass now. BTW, the PlayStation start-up sound intro is really cool.
@@gnarkillguchLikewise, it’s a classic. Just seen that there is a newer Red Sonja figure to be released, by Epic H.A.C.K.S / Boss Fight Studios. It looks far superior.
@@MissHercuLiz Yep! I have mine pre-ordered and ready to go lol. It's crazy how they managed to pack all that in for $50, but LC couldn't do half of that for $80.
I have been lucky for the most part so far. My Lady Death had very loose hips/upper legs. I would stand her and she just wanted to spread her legs (hur hur) too much. She also had loose ankles. Added some Kiki Loose Joints solution to it and she is fine now. My Hellwitch right arm broke right out of the package as soon as I bent it to pose. Snapped at the elbow. I glued it back and have per posed but can't bend that arm. I figure maybe it was cold on the truck and I should have let her warm up first? I got a 2nd because I got confused and bought one from Coffin comics and one from Loose Collector and I thought it was all the same company. Confusing as hell. With that said, I haven't had issues with any other lady yet ( Purgatory, Vampirella, Red Sonja). I ordered the Wicked 3 and have Critter on the way in the mail. I'm really looking forward to La Muerta. I hope they get better as time goes on. Price does hurt my wallet but I make sure I get the early preorder price that helps a little. I wonder about the paint app difference. I followed this artist who made and painted custom figs on figurerelm ( I think it is called) And his profile said he got a job at Loose Collector. So that is why their product shots look so amazing. But why isn't the final product the same? Factory can't reproduce his level of work? Interesting.
At the very least they should update the advertisement pictures to accurately portray what you're actually going to receive when you slap down your cash on one. Although if people saw just how bad they can actually look, they probably wouldn't be as willing to drop $70 on one..
Thats the problem i think on the price is the licensing fir these characters since a lot are obscure female characters also Loose Collector is a guy from the Philippines who use to make custom figures in forums in the early days of action figure collecting online. So him translaying into making his own full company partnering with coffin comics or whatever theyre called to make this brand is a big step. So i understand the QC issues but yeah, the price definitely can be cheaper at least paying $40 or $50 would be reasonable. Also i dont like the final paint jobs either definitely could look more realistic especially the face painting. Lastly, no lie you sound like Will Friedle aka Eric Matthews from Boy meets World, Ron from kim possible and Terry from Batman Beyond talking lol
The Red Sonja seems to have the better QC, the rest seems to break quite easily. The only issue with my Red Sonja is the hair is top heavy that it keeps lifting the head up to the sky after a few hours lol
Oh, they have an over abundance of Lady Death. I got another one from them earlier this year. They have different colors and even glow in the dark ones. Thanks for the idea for the fix of the limbs.👍🏿 Excellent video.
This is the ONLY video I've seen that very disliked their figures. Kudos on being different 👍 they do seem too pricey, out of scale and plain Jane with bad articulation. Loosecollector used to make amazing marvel legends customs, way better quality they had compared to their own figures. 🤷♂️
The ironic part is.. the leg on your Lady Death and right arm on Hell Witch broke on mine as well. Haha. Although my Purgatory is fine(One of my favorite characters). Looking forward to the new three. But I do agree
@@gnarkillguch out of the three I own I feel she’s the most solid. Definitely more accessories with her than the others. With them being basically the same mold she’s not too different from Hell Witch but to me she feels better. But maybe I’m biased too one of my favorite characters since my edgy 90’s days haha. But so far so good. Least on my end.
@@alekhidell4925 Maybe I'll pick her up if I can find one second hand for a good price. I do still like the aesthetic these figures have, and they look good on a shelf.
I kinda wanted to get some of these figures. The price always kept me back. Now the QC is another issue. I don't get why these figures are so expensive.
I'm not sure either. It's not like this is one guy and his friends making these in their garage or something. They obviously have contracts with factories to produce these things, so I think they really need to consider looking elsewhere for production.
I've heard it both ways since I made this video. Some people have had zero problems with their figures, and others have had it just as bad, if not worse than my experience with the line. I'd imagine that LC is at least aware of the issues and making sure that the quality is getting better with every release, but who knows.
Oh no. I have the Lady Death and Taarna NIB sitting in storage. Starting to fear opening any Mezco or Loose Collector item. Also for me personally, I find it better to buy these from BBTS. Executive charges $20 starting for shipping. I really want the werewolf they teased but am worried about the QC that beast will be. No you are not the only person who has had these issues.
I had another person comment that they got the Hyde figure, and the paint on him literally scratches off with slight pressure. Absolutely unacceptable. I can't imagine the werewolf would be much different.
@@gnarkillguch sorry i meant to type the word "hate" instead of "have". I don't have any of these but I was planning to. Thanks for doing this. I know I'll just pass on this
What other company is making female figs like this? ML aint, their female figs look like teenagers not women. Most of us can't lie, the reason we even look at these is the sex appeal. Sex sells, so they are gonna charge a higher price. It doesn't mean its right, but please don't compare a ML to this... Hasbro wouldn't never put all the sculpt and paint on one fig. I am not defending LoosCollecter, those thigh cuts are very horrible. but ML stuff is a joke and I collect ML. I was on the fence about the new 3 pack, now I'm concerned, cos i have the Lady death, but I have no issues with it. I don't like the hard plastic hair though. I'm glad I found this video. Thanks for sharing.
The appeal for me is one part having a sexy lady on the shelf for sure, but mainly just having an action figure of a character that no one else is bothering to make.
I think...Loose Collector designs the figures, Executive Replicas produces them, and Coffin is licensing their stuff out to them. Other comic creators as well, with Vampirella and Critter being in there.
I wasn’t happy with the price increase on these. The original Lady Death was $50. While that was still high, I think that $75 is just insane for what you get with these. Hopefully the newer stuff holds up better.
It's hard to say because it seems like no one wants to talk about the QC problems the LC stuff has. I'll just go out on a limb and tell you that it's more than likely not worth the $70+ they're asking for her. Just save that money for something better.
Man, I've been wanting to preorder their Rocketeer pack but it's at least $140 and with these issues I've seen everyone have with Taarna and you have with these others...yeah.
I love to look at all the promo pictures they use to sell them. I would love to display them but I don't want a static figure I'm afraid to pose. I'm not Into statues.
Same. I tried the whole statue thing, but they take up too much space, and they're just boring. Amazing looking pieces, but I needs me some articulation lol.
No prob. Not trying to just bash a company for no reason, but like I said, if you're going to charge import prices for your figures, you deserve any sort of criticism that comes your way.
I agree completely. I canceled my preorders for Red Sonja, vampirella and Purgatory when I seen videos of in hand. I have lady death and hell witch. Hell witch looks best to me. But I’ve said that this line is marvel legends quality at at least triple the price. It’s crazy, they say they’re high end collectibles....they are not. I received an email from they and I told them how I feel about them. It’s unfortunate because I want these characters but the price and quality is awful
I don’t own any of these, bc after a year of hype wanting Taarna, once I saw the poor paint apps I decided to skip it. If the customer service is good, and an action figure fan / customizer like Loosecollector is involved, I would guess they’re just having issues with their manufacturing companies? The prices do seem way too high though even if the product came out the same way as advertised. More of a NECA range seems appropriate of $27 to $40.
Taarna was absolutely unacceptable for the price they charged. Like I said in the video, it was borderline class action lawsuit worthy what they pulled with her. It still blows my mind that people like Fwoosh etc were so kind to the set. But I guess you have to be of you want exclusive and early access to stuff..
I was always tempted by these, because they have some really great character selection, but after having handled action figures from the four Horsemen, Neca, and storm collectibles, I ultimately decided that these were just not worth the price. honestly, take any of these, and compare it against a predators or gargoyles figure by Neca, and it is really apparent that these are way way overpriced.
LOL. For the most part, Executive Republic/ Loose Collector is a hit-or-miss company with more miss than hit. They are making some of the best IP but the final product may not be as advertised and that sucks. They are expensive and dang they should be better. I really hope the Rocketeer figure looks as good as advertised.
Hasbro sculpts are copy and paste, there’s zero variety in female body types, they offer characters that are either very skinny or super skinny. But there’s quite a few different bodies for males. It’s kinda suspicious tbh you can get an almost nude namor but red Sonja would cause outrage. I appreciate these loose collector figures because they’re not afraid of taking on these characters and body types.
I have Red Sonja and Purgatory, and I haven’t had any breakage, or QC issues so far. However, I am disappointed with the quality, especially the paint app, and articulation. The two LC figures individual cost as much as a Mafex, and yes Mafex has their issues too, but Mafex’s articulation and paint app is far superior than LC. I decided to get La Muerta because of a glowing review of her, so maybe the new wave is better? However I have a feeling La Muerta is the exception as a Chaotica review the paint app looks lacking. These females must have some type of ab crunch as well as the upper ball joint at their price.
Im super disappointed in these. they look nothing like the the prototype. I got tarna was so angry once i got it. Im with you dude! these guys need to get there shit together. I feel so ripped out
Oh man you break ladydeath Yes, I think this figure is too expensive but unfortunately he made Lady Death Vampirella and the other one, Vampirella. One of the characters that disappointed me could have been made more beautiful for her face paint and I stopped after I got Vampirella.
I'm having the same issues like this with my Jada Toys Street Fighter figures, and it seems that every reviewer is all praise even if the figure is getting breaks down in their own review lol. I have unsub to a lot of UA-cam reviewers as they seem not honest and have their own personal stakes. I bought 4 Jada Toys SF figures, and all of them have loose knee and ankle joints as the tight ratchets are chewing the plastics, the soft rubber hair also keeps getting unglued especially on Chun-Li, my Ken can barely stand as his ankle can't hold his weight, and my Ryu has chipping paint with his hair and belt. Funny thing, is when Anthony Customs was reviewing the Chun-Li figure the glue on the bangs and buns went off during the review and totally didn't say that it is an issue, including the chipping paint. But, on other reviews he is overly critical lol This is why I started unsubbing to alot of UA-camrs, it's very suspicious.
I had no idea that the Jada stuff was prone to issues like that. I've been thinking about grabbing a couple, but now I'm definitely going to reconsider and do a bit of research first.
Yep, unfortunately I bought into these and through the Sonya is the Only Decent one I kept, got rid of the latter 3 and cancelled the the Upcoming other 3. Xesray has much BETTER Bodies, unfortunately they cost an Eye & a Kidney Now
After pre-ordering the Boss Fight Studio Red Sonja recently, I am now slowly beginning to regret overpaying $75 plus for that Executive Replicas / Loose Collector one 🙄
God, same here. I was just so hyped to be getting a Red Sonja figure that wasn't a statue and in my preferred scale that I just bought it without really thinking. The BF figure looks LEAGUES better than the LC, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting her in hand.
I have a Shi figure on pre-order through BBTS thats going to be from this line. It's going for $75.99 if I remember right.. Life hit me hard with bills, and I have been debating on canceling my pre-order. Then I happen to stumble on this video. And now.. I am hearing and seeing the issues you're facing and just... Ugh. Those are my worst fears. And seeing your Lady Death and Hell Witch figures with broken legs and arms? It's making me consider HARD on canceling my Shi pre-order.
I got Shi on pre order too. Things is no one else will make that character. So it's extra hard to pass on her. They are making their figures with stronger joints and they are working to improve. Not sure she is before the new stronger joints or after but since she isn't out yet maybe they are making sure she is good to go.
Yes finally someone coming forth on why these figures are not as great as some people think they are WAY Over priced on figures with less articulation then a marvel legend . Now look wise they are beautiful. But that’s about it pass on these
I had Taarna and was so disappointed, sold it like a month after having her - I got Red Sonja and love it, that’s figure is awesome - I’m not too pissed about paint, I wish it was better though and an alternate head for the price would have been good - May pull the trigger on the previous figures, but after seeing breaking joints I don’t think I will - but I will 😅 Because I love these characters and the alternative is $1500 statues!
I'm a huge Red Sonja fan and really want the figure, but have been holding off due to a bunch of preorders hitting my wallet all at once. Your review has made me pretty leery now.
They should learn from Jada, greed isn't the way to gain results, I really like the mold they are using better than most of the Marvel Legends for females, but they need to improve their skills, and they need to learn ways to low the budget. Because this scenario seems very similar to NECA with Kratos disaster.
It's a trauma response like getting in the prison showers with diddy. People don't know how to process what just happened
I'm really not sure why these figures get such a pass. If literally any other company pulled crap like this, it would be a bloodbath.
Appreciate it!
Two
But it’s the same body over and over with no paint. They’re not offering anything special nowadays especially since they’re creeping towards $30 each.
Lady Death was a solid first effort, and it should have been all uphill from there.
I have all four no issues with mine but I always heat all my figures up a little.
I did get the pieces replaced by them but man yeah. The QC sucks. My Hell Witch arm broke the same way. Bbts was gracious enough to replace my LD.
I’d rather pay for $25 Marvel Legends, as I do, and I won’t feel like I was fucked over if it breaks, but I haven’t had too many problems with Marvel
Legends either!!!
Good to know.
For collectors under 30, this really is “your father’s action figure company.”
So in my mind, I can somewhat reconcile the differences between what we’re paying for and what we’re getting, at least aesthetically. There’s never an excuse for poor QC though.
As for the false advertising, that’s another throwback to the late 90s and early 00s when factory paint apps couldn’t hold a candle to a professionally hand painted prototype. Digital printing has pretty much eliminated that problem in most contemporary lines.
Are they using digital printing in making action figures now? I haven’t heard anything.
Keep up the good work 👏
I know it's the older video but I think you have to understand that all those other companies you mentioned they make tens of thousands of those figures this company's not doing that they don't have the infrastructure to pull off what Hasbro and all those other companies can do no excuse mind you but I think that's the main reason why they charge so much
Dang... I've been lucky with my Hellwitch so far, I didn't pay 70$ but I'm definitely keeping this video in mind from now on.
Yea, that's what I ended up doing for the most part. I actually used a Dremel and sanded out a bit of it so it fit better.
I had 5 of these in my cart on bbts including 3 preorders. I’ve never owned one but they looked great for my display. Great video man, glad to see y’all are alright.
They're not horrible, but they're incredibly overpriced considering what you're getting and how fragile they are.
You don't suck Bro. It's Loose Collector/Executive Republic that failed you.
Do her paint apps look even remotely close to the promo pics? Just curious to see if they're improving or not.
Yea I'm definitely looking forward to that new Sonja for sure.
I just discovered this brand and i was really hyped because i wanted to potentially make some custom figs (like wonder woman) would u not recommend these body molds?
I wouldn't do that personally, they're okay but not for Wonder Woman. Their sculpts are too unique and expensive to be making customs out of.
@@scottroxford5715 what figs would u recommend tho? I'm honestly unimpressed with the articulation of the marvel legends bucks
That's ridiculous. Thats something you'd expect buying a custom figure off off eBay, not an official product.
Yea like I said, Sonja is the only one I don't have a huge issue with besides the paint app.
I had an issue with Hell Witch where her hand joints broke off when switching hands on her straight out of the box..
😢 I feel bad for them ! Hopefully they'll overcome all this problems in future
Glad you made this video, i eas on the fence with getting this because of the price, but they are way to expensive for what you get
Thanks for the video man.
Probably for the best. Their figures aren't hard to get after release.
@@gnarkillguch That's good to hear! In that case, I'll wait till after release. Thanks!
@@gnarkillguch Super7 are like barely poseable statues in my opinion. Arms and legs they can't even go 90 degrees.
I love these. Wish I had all of them. I have only found the Lady Death.
Yea id definitely handle them with a bit more care lol.
Thanks for this video ! I live in France so to import one it's about 100€. I almost ordered Purgatori but if they all have the same problems I think I will be disappointed
I don't own her obviously, so I can't speak on her quality. But if she's anything like HellWitch, then she'd probably be ridiculously fragile.
Thanks. Glad to help. Also yea, the PS1 startup is up there in my favorite sounds ever, so I figured why not? Lol
Only have the Red Sonja but agree the arms feel like a 90s figure articulation .
@@gnarkillguch Yup. We see the Instagram filter face model. Oh I also have Shi preordered.
Do you warm up your figures first before trying to test the articulation?
That's absurd stop it
@@sirmustardofhousemayonnais9907its absured that’s why I’ve seen every UA-camr do it and see it in every comment section.
@@BB-ed4om I see every collector cope over bad products, doesn't make it right
Oh, they have an over abundance of Lady Death. I got another one from them earlier this year. They have different colors and even glow in the dark ones. Thanks for the idea for the fix of the limbs.👍🏿 Excellent video.
I'm just not sure if they'll honor any sort of warrantee on a figure that's like 3 years old now lol.
You payed forty extra dollars so the figure would be half naked. Hasbro is not going to release a 'swimsuit' Black Widow any time soon.
But namor in his tiny little underpants with his ROCK HARD abs is cool😂 👍 our society is weird af these days.
@@BB-ed4omthese days? Dont you mean for centuries?
This is the ONLY video I've seen that very disliked their figures. Kudos on being different 👍 they do seem too pricey, out of scale and plain Jane with bad articulation. Loosecollector used to make amazing marvel legends customs, way better quality they had compared to their own figures. 🤷♂️
The ironic part is.. the leg on your Lady Death and right arm on Hell Witch broke on mine as well. Haha. Although my Purgatory is fine(One of my favorite characters). Looking forward to the new three.
But I do agree
How is Purgatori? I assumed she was basically the same as HellWitch quality wise, so I skipped her.
@@gnarkillguch also I think the wing design on Purgatory is better overall. Less paint. But the maneuver better to me
@@alekhidell4925 Maybe I'll pick her up if I can find one second hand for a good price. I do still like the aesthetic these figures have, and they look good on a shelf.
@@gnarkillguch that they do.
Wanna pickup Bettie Paige with the Rocketeer accessory lmao. When else are we gonna get her at 1/12th scale.
This worries me for the Liefeld figs coming... This is the first I've heard of these QC issues, so thanks for that.
@@gnarkillguch paint I can deal with, but I really don't want figures breaking so easily.
good thing you made a video of this. i have qc issues on the figures
Sorry to hear that.
@@gnarkillguch sadly, that is probably most of the reason for the price. There is no competition.
I think...Loose Collector designs the figures, Executive Replicas produces them, and Coffin is licensing their stuff out to them. Other comic creators as well, with Vampirella and Critter being in there.
Okay, that makes sense.
I wasn’t happy with the price increase on these. The original Lady Death was $50. While that was still high, I think that $75 is just insane for what you get with these. Hopefully the newer stuff holds up better.
I'm interested in getting the Critter one but I really don't know anymore.
Here's hoping they improve by the time it drops and MAYBE I'll get him.
I'm so tempted by that set too, mostly just for the Betty figure though honestly.
I am into statues, and if I want a statue I'll buy a statue. Not an action figure that can barely move.
Thanks a lot for your videos. Was thinking of diving into these.
No prob. Not trying to just bash a company for no reason, but like I said, if you're going to charge import prices for your figures, you deserve any sort of criticism that comes your way.
Passed on these ones. They are $130-$140 here in Canada. More expensive than mafex and mezco. Way too overpriced.
Yea that's a ludicrous price
I agree completely. I canceled my preorders for Red Sonja, vampirella and Purgatory when I seen videos of in hand. I have lady death and hell witch. Hell witch looks best to me. But I’ve said that this line is marvel legends quality at at least triple the price. It’s crazy, they say they’re high end collectibles....they are not.
I received an email from they and I told them how I feel about them. It’s unfortunate because I want these characters but the price and quality is awful
Yep. They already have my money for the new three pack coming out, but if those are as bad as the old ones I am 100% done with this line permanently.
If I was pay $70 a figure and I was having problems like this, man I would be pissed too lol
Hasbro USED to be chill with that sort of thing (their first Black Cat and Moonstone body), don't understand what changed.
I feel so ripped out
I have Black and Red Vampi, Red Sonja, and Critter. I think Sonja and Critter are my favorites. My Vampis share some of the same issues you mentioned.
But, on other reviews he is overly critical lol
This is why I started unsubbing to alot of UA-camrs, it's very suspicious.
Xesray has much BETTER Bodies, unfortunately they cost an Eye & a Kidney Now
I’d love a Red Sonja figure, but the price and quality issues I’ve heard about make it a pass.
She's probably the least bad when it comes to QC, but yea, I can understand.
Constantine is my favorite mezco. I haven't had time to open up my succubus that I ordered from them now I'm worried.
Constantine is one of the best figures I've ever owned. I still can't believe how good he is.
She's definitely the best when it comes to QC and stuff. My only problem with her is the bad paint apps.
They should learn from Jada, greed isn't the way to gain results, I really like the mold they are using better than most of the Marvel Legends for females, but they need to improve their skills, and they need to learn ways to low the budget. Because this scenario seems very similar to NECA with Kratos disaster.
I've heard about the Kratos fiasco. Almost bought one until I watched a few videos first.
Even if the joints weren’t garbage, the sculpts are full-on scams. The pics compared to the in-hand figures feels like I bought a Chinese bootleg.
