- In the Raid Digest, Plarium confirmed a weird interaction with Taunt in Hydra. They confirmed it was working as intended which made me think of the potential teams that could make use of the strategy. Turns out it can have tremendous value for all players and not just those with Void Legendaries (assuming you grabbed Emic as a fusion). This video breaks down one way you can maximise the value of taunt in hydra.

IMPORTANT NOTE: emic at 270 puts him at the speed needed for doing Unkillable clan boss for UNM and NM with 2 painkeepers and well as iron twins and there's another channel that has a dozen builds for him so very much putting him there makes everywhere else easy to work with

will always use the real champs for such.. arbais is superior taunt champ i run.. who needs unkillable when you have 2x helicath.. such a trash void and i would use it as food if i was unlucky enough to pull

Oh man, I've been using Nia and Emic together in Hydra for a few weeks now. But not to reduce Emics taunt, but rather a dmg dealer's. That's so much smarter than what I was doing. Can't wait to try this.

Could the curing set on nia help with destroyed max hp as well?
what is the resistance you need to resist the head of mischief?
to avoid the fail (when getting 3% steal on the taunt) you could 1. have a side champ with lots of self buff so mischief focus him. or 2. run 2taunt champ + 1 nia

Ive tried using a emic/ ²x painkiller combo. Back cant seem to sustain the taunt. And his speed is at 290. Should drop the speed down instead? Not sure why its not working. Dont have a nia.
I dont have nia, been trying with 2 painkeepers not havent quite got it turned yet, got emic up to 280 speed and still sometimes someone gets eaten right before he gets a turn and places the taunt again. i'm not sure if it is his speed or the relation of his speed with the other champs. It is quite hard for me to get these tune doens without a proper calculator like deadwood's for og clan boss.
I wonder if you have champs like Emic and Arbais the stonethorn in a team, what speeds would they need to run if it were possible to keep an auto team with those without PK
Does buff duration extending work on taunt?
I just need one more book into Emic’s A3 and then I can get this team going. I’m going to run Pythion in the lead and a bit faster than Emic. His passive heals, plus now having his block buffs A2 on a 2 turn cooldown means I will always have it up. I’ll fill the other slots with Michinaki, Shamael, and Gnut. I’m excited to see what I can do!
I'm looking at building it, but want to know how to build mysteries for emic and nia
Built a taunt team for the current rotation and did the run last week. Will be changing Nia into Hex gear actually since her build is simple. Protect set on Emic as well to help combat against the 3% nonsense.
I love how i built mine this way right away and then found out about the taunt mechanic. I thought it was a bug lol
If you put Emic in lead, is Nia going to target him for sure in auto ? (how does her IA choose the target of the cooldown reset) ?
Was Madman nerfed? I was planning on trying to build him but I wanted to make sure first lol
i did a couple teams for hydra covering taunt loops and complete unkillable teams or outplaying the hydra for a easy 1 key team while beeing unkillable. maybe u can catch some ideas :) great team

i made an emic team, after i saw your first video, showcasing the taunt buff in hydra by the, i think, german CC (sorry, i cant remember his name, hopefully someone can post it so he can get some love)
i run Emic, white dryad Nia, Tatura Rimehide for block debuffs (only block debuffs i have), shamael boosting my geomancer, and an Oboro as a mischief tank (no 3% for me ;) ) I've only been playing since sometime during the gnut fusion so my gear isnt very good, but wrath makes it easy to do good damage (for my account at least) with geomancers passive
Is ist possible to run Emic and Ruarc instead Whyte dried Nia to make this taunt thing work? Because I don’t have her.
@@user-jl6id3cg4n only them 2 cant. cause there will be always a hole where is no taunt out there and if a head jumps in between those 2 champs they will eat u
Constant turn meter boost and increase resistance from Oella I think would be better. And the heals
Did this get changed? I built this team and even doing it on manual with the taunt on they are still getting consumed
Saw a thing I think on reddit about this and already working on getting the stuff together for it. Really glad I still did the Emic fusion despite how many people got turned off after the nerf. Only issue is he's in my CB team so need to work around the timings for that or build a different team... Also been curious to see how it would work with Ruarc. Not unkillable, and doesn't bring the CDR as well for the cycling of Nia, but could be a good alternative option to try to work out a full-auto team (minus 2-turn setup) switching back and forth between the two different taunts.
ruarc would be fine because his becomes a 3 turn with emic so just run him around the same tune as nia and it should be fine and if you're doing the emic double PK for CB the speed of him doesn't need to change
I have a lot of difficulty with Hydra. This is a great idea, I think I am going to try it with shamael and two Geomancers
how does dudan compare?
Maybe you can run Elva instead of duchess, and HP tune the team so her healing and veil goes on a michief tank other than Emic. She also cleanse and gives block debuff. As for the fear head Shamael is just too good here imo
What about duedan the runic?
Anyone make this work with Duedan? He's not extending his taunt buff with his A2. Also would he work with a painkeeper? I'm trying to build a Hydra hard time with him.
It would be cool to have a mastery/blessing/set that rounded up to 100% chance resist or land (accuracy) if you meet the hard cap (and it would be pve only).
what are the masteries?
So Im trying to do the team with Emic+2 painkeepers, inquisitor and siccia. Question is if Deacon would be best in first spot to boost speeds through inquisitor ? or is there anything you would think is better than Brogni, if not Deacon ?
You do want some decent damage in here
Brogni might make more sense in place of Duchess because of his passive and increase attack for Varl
Concept ideas for dungeons
2-3 Boss dungeon where one of them places taunt possibly protected
A dungeon where each wave is a different boss instead of waves
Wouldn't Oboro be a good addition in the team as damage dealer? Her A3 puts out some unusual buffs on herself. She would override Emic on buff count as a Mischief target thus undo the 3% rate of failure
bronko used 2 pain keepers and a maneater to not only use the taunt, but also make the whole team unkillable on auto. of course you need shamael there for the fear and only have one dps spot in the end (he used geomancer and shamael was built to nuke too), but if you just want an easy 1-key solution for any difficulty, this is one of the easiest ways to achieve that. will test myself after the next reset. there may be a way to replace the maneater with brogni too.
Man-eater also cover for a gap in the unkillable buff so you need him to be totally safe
What about Brogni? Increase attack, block debuffs, his A2 is a cleanse for the fear. And an A1 burn
i got all these champs except Emic who i didnt go for. but i only use Michi and Duchess in my Hyrda team with no setup lol. just toss em in and let em run auto lol. guess i need some help setting things up. but i usually hit over 100M on Brutal.

Not related but I was recently surprised by a taunt team in classic arena. It had Ambassador Lethelin and Mortu in. Somehow ambassador targeted mortu with the taund and I could target anyone but him, wukong took care of it but that could have been bad. I think this concept could be interesting the more taunt they add

I do think this could work - you'd have to find the speed debuff elsewhere but you would gain decrease Attack
This is really interesting. I don’t have Emic but I do have Ruarc Greenwarden. If you use Ruarc instead of Emic, would you need to bring another champ that can bring a 1 turn ally cool-down?
yes you'd need a Painkeeper or someone to get the cooldown far enough
Regretting not going for Emic now.. I do have Ruarc though.

I don't have Emic but i try somthing similar with Lethelin and Acrizia
turvold instead of whisper would stop the mischief head and make it not a 3% possibility since he'll do it every other turn

nope, you can't extend the taunt buff
i have everyone but duchess... i'll never get a duchess :) I don't think i have protection gear nearly that good, however, for my emic. I can either get close to that speed OR get RES but not both. And if i go for either, the rest of the stats will be sort of crappy. It's an interesting comp but pretty 'end game/whale' level gear maybe.
But in case some protection gear ever shows up and then rolls well...by the year 2030..
Can pythion work in place of duchess?
You don't have an increase Speed buff you can bring? Or a turn meter fill like Nekmo. More than one way to skin this cat.
@@TheRyanandKimberly no nekmo in my main ; I've tried kimmi a lot in hydra and haven't had much luck - at least for my account i seem to do better just going heavy protection/revive and try to stay alive as long as possible with someone that can maybe free someone, and hope they don't get eaten. So i use like a husk (I have 2 Husk) or Trunda (one Trunda) in each of my 3 keys (one for normal, one hard, one brutal- i try to build teams that can run auto), and I don't think i have NM possibilities yet). Each team is different - but I also try to have one provoker in a team, at least one reviver, one healer. Oella is good as healer for example. I also try to have HP burn if I can fit that in... can't always. I fiddle with the teams a bit btu so far I'm not close to 1 key NM at all, i think my speeds are just too low and maybe RES or some other important stat :) I don't have the really OP arena champs but i have plenty of 'good in hydra' champs. More than the 18 that three keys needs. But the new guy - rathalon - i can't seem to get him to do that kind of crazy damage. I have it at 5.2k atk and 243 cd and speed of 187 (not much in terms of defensive stats, limit of my gear). So low hp and low def.
He just dies a lot.
I use this team with Gnut and Acriza in place of Varal and whisper, and it's a full auto team
As things stand I will never get Protection or Stoneskin accessories. Thanks for the rest of it though.

Check out Bronko raid shadow legends, he's been making tons of videos about teams like these for at least a month now and theorizing it even longer than that. No point in reinventing the wheel given how much work he's already put in.
Absolutely not building a manual Hydra team. Sorry clanmates, I don't get paid to make content in Raid, so I can't spend hours playing and replaying one stage. I might try with Ruarc & Emic alternating though if I can get that going on auto, otherwise I gues I'm one painkeeper and some awesome gear for Emic away from cheesing it with an unkillable taunt team.
Issue is most players don't have all the champions nor the gear showing @6 stars. All benefits for the paying players

Too complicated for me, but I wonder if half assing it a little with just a real fast Emic (as opposed to a full speed tuned clockwork setup) would provide some benefit.

How can people have the time to do this manually. It's not realist. Game already forces manual play just to do the dailies. Please find an auto solution. So I can cook something to eat.

From the moment I read that Plarium announcement with the taunt buff I thought of Emic because of his 2 turn taunt. Since I don't have Nia I didn't think of her but I was thinking of a buff extender. There are so many nowadays, maybe a few of them could work in this team setup. I'm also thinking someone else count be the mischief target, so you don't risk a fail. There are a few champions that place a unique buff on themselves like reflect damage or something. Pair that with a lightning cage blessing and you switched mischief target head so you don't risk the 3%.

I had taunt stolen every single time and non-stop. 3% doesn't apply to garbage to my runs - it was 100% stolen. Tried over 30 runs with resist up to 350 and solid builds but not crazy. I'm Mid-late game and nowhere the gear you have but it still isn't a bad build. This strategy only will work for end-gamers I'm guessing.
That is not enough RES for Brutal. You may need to run it on a lower level and still get in the big damage.
Am I correct that this needs to be done manually for the entire run? Boo!

Honestly this seems like WAY to much effort for a "decent" key. For most players that's probably a great key, but most players probably don't have a Whisper with that gear/blessing.
Interesting team, no doubt. But most people's damage will be much lower, i'd imagine.

if we could pull legendary from shards that often with 3% as this head steals the buffs....
running krisk duch and only doing 50m? skill issue not anything else.

Looking at how plarium nerfing those champ that doing good damage to hydra, once u make this work, confirm 120% plarium will nerf this team.. plarium nvr want players to get easy, their motive is to make it difficult so that 'cheap' players will leave and krakens continue to spend, let's see what they will do.

Nerfs are UNACCEPTABLE. It's very hard for normal players to build great champions even moderately well. Only whales can build these crazy teams.
I’m by no means a whale (only the monthly gem pack) and I built a team similar (emic/nia/shamel/gnut/elva/wukong) and did 100m on nightmare.

@@MJT1125 100m is normal for everyone over time but billions no way f2p can access that type of damage, maybe over 12 year of game play
shouldnt keep you from at least trying to beat the game on your own terms. just 1-keying hydra on 3 different levels can already be called a great achievement to strife for. as a normal/f2p player you shouldnt even come into contact with those whales and their crazy teams most of the time, so just focus on what you can do with what you have. i am F2P, 1.5 years into the game and i can 1-key normal, hard and brutal every week no problem and its great!

270 speed isn't too hard for any endgame account and if your gear is "shyte" just build a slower team for a lower hydra.
he mentioned several alternatives and i could think of some more if i wanted... an epic and a recent fusion champ is the only real requirement here, the rest is up to you and your roster, so quit whining... also you dont actually need the same gear-level saph has for this, he even advised you to "scale it down to your level", the specific sets are just a recommendation too. if you are still a low level player, scale it down to hydra normal or hard instead, since this example of his is scaled for brutal+ hydra and you cant just jump into that, you have to grow your account and do the lower levels first, like in every other game too... geez. gear isnt the only factor for building good champions btw and many players forget that great hall, arena tier-bonus, champ ascension, gear ascension and area bonus all accumulate to get the builds actually that good.... you should especially push your great hall fast to get all the accuracy levels to 10 as fast as possible and then go for crit damage and resistance after that. this makes building your champions SO much easier already, its not even funny.
also farm your FW crypts each day and use the forge to get your best gear faster and easier there than from farming.
@@exodmaster2702 I've got none of them champs. Or anyone in my clan for that matter. Gnut and Emic were impossible for low spenders like me, let alone for F2P, and newcomers.
I was fortunate enough to get Shamael from a Void Shard, and was able to build him in "decent" gear to get me 1 key on normal, and was surprised to get 10-13mil DMG.
It's easy to say, "well, scale it down for your needs", without offering alternatives.
I'm not complaining btw
On top of that, I've used the optimized from HH, and no matter how I run it, and how much I tweak it, I don't have gear to put me past the 250 SPD and not suffer from lack of all the other stats. At most I can have 3 out of 8 stats, and only one of those 3 will be Good... I've farmed almost 15k energy this weekend and got crap from dragon, IG and FK. Spider was better in that area, at stage 1 hard mode

I appreciate the time you and other CC put into these guides... However, when you guys show us how easy it is with your maxed out accounts, best gear, great hall bonuses etc, it just makes me feel retarded for not being able to come anywhere close after 4 years of playing. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If i had all the time to sit around and all the money to max stuff I wouldn't need advice, so, well thanks anyways bro.
who cares about the crappy little fusion having taunt when i have Arbais? her taunt is superior in every way to that garbage champ.. tho i personally prefer my level 47 account that has a 920 resist (before aura) Night queen krixus.. zero need for taunt when you can lolrofl stomp the heads into mediocrity.. not a difficult game when you have a ton of real champions.. between the 2 mythics and 29 legos on that account i can do anything without struggle :') have spent a total of $30 on the game for some energy packs which i am now at 97k thanks to it being a farmed day 890 login account Tehehehe.. sucks to be you bads tho..
