I felt kinda stupid doing the course and not knowing alot but hearing u say that gives me hope.I really like the trade and I'm just trying me make the connection right now with some experienced persons so I could learn it hands on

Yes sir I think the reason why you put the main breaker over the right side of the panel is because in case the wire slip out of the main breaker it will hit the neutral bar,and the neutral bar will send back the current to its source.
The way you explained your work makes it easy to understand. Maybe you can go to one of the school and see if anyone would like to use their summer holiday to get some extra training from you
Well there are about 5 schools that i know of for a fact that the electrical teachers encourage students to watch my vids and it could be more because students all over are reaching me and ig ,wattapps etc daily and i share a much as i can with them . I got calls to go to schools b4 but the pandemic did affect the timing of it but yeah maybe one day soon .
This is awesome 👍. I did level 3, so I have my diploma but that's a while back. I'm a teacher but I want to get back into the field. Thank you Mr electrician. Gonna watch all your videos 👍
Best to connect the upstairs sub panel from the main panel through a breaker a smaller amperage to the main to have control from there whilst people connect it from the main up at the top of the panel but by a breaker is best.
Good Day Brother and I really love what you are doing with your videos for the community. As a returning resident, I noticed some differences in wiring standards. I like to know if the Square D Plug On Neutral Main Panel could be used in Jamaica, because that would reduce the need for pigtails from GFI or AGFI Breakers?
Thank you very much sir.....i may want to know the source that come to the circuit isn't single phase or two phase.because saw where you screw the neutral and the earth right.and why you put the main breaker at the right hand side of the panel ?tnx
Greetings EEE, I was wondering if you added two more circuits to that panel where would the earthing wires go,and why not use a 10A breaker for the lighting circuit?
A pleasant good evening sir I am great full for the VIDEO you put up this open my understanding, electrical installers with different kind of idea if stop looking at the faults and Nothing only but give proper salutation eg you panel lean give a salutation, use a level to fix the panel mmmm🤨
The panel was level thou to be honest , looking back at it , it was the position of the camera why it come out like that but yea it was level , i appreciate your comment 👍
I would trying offer a whole house surge protection in the panel. It’s just another way to make extra money and at the same time it will protect all the appliances if their is a power surge. It’s cheaper to get it than replacing all your appliances
Well the neutral bar is seperated from the live bar so that alone should alone the current not to go there but if you are talking about waste current etc well that is difference because it only occur through the neutral to the earth if that makes sense.
Isn't that still dangerous. Because doing this is expecting the main utility guy to always do the right connection.. I've experience reverse connection from the utility company.. Neutral was live and live was neutral.. Had to call them immediately to rectify this issue.. Especially you're this is a metal box.
A main breaker can go anywhere in a panel once installation is accurate but where ever u install a main or sub breakers they should be treated with caution dead or live , it is regarded safe once the neutral not interfering with the connection , in this panel that is enough space for any professional to operate on if needed to there are panels that are closer that this and more crowded , safety is there plus easier for house home owners to switch on and off , regard neutral returning back power to the panel from the utility that can happen but doesn't affect the location of the breaker.
@Luxury Music I was thought at Heart NSTA that the distribution panel must be a minimum height of 4 feet from floor level. And there is no maximum height for the panel. As long as the top most breaker is accessible. Which is the Main Breaker.
Is Jamaica 110---120volts that why u brigde neutral to ground .Because we use 220-240 here in Dominica the main panel or main switch so we call it.The nuetral is sometime to the side like were it is on your own or above . The ground is sometime to the opposite side or on the above ,
What I have observed is there is no insulation covering on the earthing conductors. In England all earthing conductors, colours are green and yellow stripe. The Neutral and the earthing are connected at the supply head after the protected the fuse before the meter. And separated as it enters the distribution Board. As to the question,AS the mains breaker the supply side will feed the link bars that supply the other breakers.
Ok in JA we use the twin and earth cable which comes with a non-insulated earth which is recommended but we don't use the non-insulated 2.5mm single wires.
EEE I understand why the earth and numeral are connected but just curious as to the means of earthing. Is it via earth rod or to the supplier's earth? If the path via earth is broken wouldn't the earthing conductor be at the same potential as the mains.
i would put it on the right to avoit short when disconnecting but i guess u put it on the left to help hold/ hide the rest of wire. but i like the work, no argument about that .
Why would you connect 2 wires in one lug when you have all those extra lugs available, if this panel is the first disconnect after the Meter you can put the ground and nuteral on the same bar
SO I think the placement of your main breaker is a fail safe just in case one of the main lines become free, there's a high chance of it touching the panel or the neutral bar and hence trip the main breaker
Safer doesn't really work in this sense because if you put a 15 // 20 amp s/p breaker over there you still have to take precaution so in anyway where ever there is live current precaution have to be there regarding what u use
Question boss when taking out a breaker do you hv to remove the breaker from the belly then take out the wires ?? Or you can just turn off the breaker then screw out the wires ? Reason why I asked it's because one time I was screwing out the breaker my screwdriver got arched
Why u put it on that side because u not use in main breaker remember if you was use in main breaker to the top the was going on the next side so you of to put on that side to balance the load plus it is small panel too
Because this is a main panel the ground and nuetral should always bond in the main panel due to the fact they are related so in case any fault occurr you have a path way to the earth
@@ElectricalInstallationEEE this is standard practice in some countries and there is nothing wrong with it however it is considered in most countries that having a separate neutral and earth bar is a safer practice as neutral is basically a return path for your load and the earth is for use when under fault conditions. Interesting video I am a UK electrician and find how other countries work very interesting. Also I have just come back from Jamaica so wanted to see more as such a beautiful country

There is no 2 phase. It's single or three phase.

You put the main breaker on the left side because it makes it easier to access
Greetings EEE, I was wondering if you added two more circuits to that panel where would the earthing wires go,and why not use a 10A breaker for the lighting circuit?
change the lug if additional wires can't fit.. in our regulation we 15 smallest not that 10 can't work but it's what we use..
greetings bro great job again ,hw do u distinguish between L1 and L2? or the orientation doesn't matter once the path to current flow complete?

What's stopping the current from traveling to the grounds since it's bonded to the neutral in the panel
Well the neutral bar is seperated from the live bar so that alone should alone the current not to go there but if you are talking about waste current etc well that is difference because it only occur through the neutral to the earth if that makes sense.
I get it now, the current will take the best path back to the source to complete the cycle and not to the earth It's a dead end

48inc for main panal and 12 inc fo4 socket 48inc to 52 inc for switches

5 plugs for bedroom ,living ,2 in kitchen if g.f.c.i include ,for breaker panel depending on the size panel etc for domestic at least 47 inches
@Luxury Music I was thought at Heart NSTA that the distribution panel must be a minimum height of 4 feet from floor level.

4ft is 48" but 47" is the minimum and as i said it depend on the size panel etc
Yeah but you wouldn't want to put it too high .it just have to be reachable and not in danger of a minor .

I do sometimes
where is the safest place in the house to put your breaker?
Passage , living , dinning , enclose garage are some of the best areas
@@ElectricalInstallationEEE thank you
Is this 240v system
I think why you put it on the right hand side to be turn incase of problems
For me, If i put it on the left, the wires going to be to short in case they need to move at some point
I always leave surplus wires in my panel by looping them Incase any adjustment need to take place in the future.
Why would you connect 2 wires in one lug when you have all those extra lugs available, if this panel is the first disconnect after the Meter you can put the ground and nuteral on the same bar
I'll prefer to put it on the right,so its away from the neutral bar.much safer wen disconnecting

It’s over on the right I this it’s how the breaker was manufactured the connections are on the right
I don’t think is matter where you put the main breaker as long as its a two pole breaker for this service. But it may be for balancing the load
Yes it matters ,most people use right hand the double breaker easier to switch on and off in that position than the other side.😅

you put the double pole main breaker on the left side of the pannel because on that side the busbar count are even numbers
No because most people use right hand and in the position it is easier to switch on and off.
