Fortunately someone cares to share this pearls. This has so much value to a camera collector or a Nikon F4 admirer, in this case, but the maker doesn't care of the heritage, so there are not enough words to cherish you for publishing this video. Cheers
This is the most in depth video I've seen on the F4s. I had no idea this camera was so advanced using the MF-23 back. It gives you features you find in most modern cameras and all of the high end models. I don't know if you can still find a working back to put on one now. I just bought an F4s in Oct of 24 asking with an FM2N. I wanted older vintage AI or AIS lenses but now I'm looking for D series lenses to take advantage of the auto focus.
I am a novice photographer, but held a F4s in my hands a couple of years ago and loved it's feel and sound and new I found a camera I wanted for film photography. Although I have since purchased a D7000, my fascination and desire for F4s has not changed, if anything probably increased especially within the first 5 mins of this video. From my limited knowledge and experience, I feel/believe it is giving me more than of enough not only for the 4s but also photography in general. I am enjoying it so much and cannot wait to get hold of this camera and utilising it and my D7000 to its fullest. I may also get an F and an 810 for professional work with the D7000 as a back up? and maintain 4s for my own personal pleasure in which I am getting it for and maybe for the odd professional shoot if that type of photography is warranted. If anyone sees this comment I would be most grateful for your response letting me know if my thinking is sound or otherwise/or alternative considerations alongside my own limited consideration. Many thanks all.
F4 was my 1st AF F body, and eventually sold it because I prefer something lighter like FM2. And after watching this video, guess having a F4 again isn't a bad idea... :D
A friend of mine has an F4s and an FM2N for sale. I bought both in Oct last year in 2024 for $400. Plus a camera bag with accessories. There were 2 older Nikon speed lights, a double bellows that's like new, 12 rolls of Fujii slide film and a few other things. The bag might be worth $50 but the bellows sells for around $200 used and the film might be worth $200. There is a big difference in weight. I think they both serve a specific purpose. The FM2N is better for a walk around street photography camera or maybe for vacation. The F4s would be better when you have changing light because of the auto function in aperture or program mode. Plus the benefit of auto focus with the D lenses.
Thank you so much for sharing this highly informational video. There are so many gems of information for film collectors. I'm so overjoyed that this exists! Also - what is the name of the model at 59:00? Asking for a friend.
One thing I have learned is that you can't use cheap batteries in the F4s. You can buy brand new batteries but if it's a cheap brand the camera still may not work.

Wow, he is taking me back in time. Fun video on my F4.
This is probably the sexiest looking camera ever made. I'm glad to own F4s.

Good old times.
anyone know the location for that surfer/blonde shot? right around 59:00
The original Froknows before Jared.
7:09 seems like my F4s needs new batteries, barely works at even 0c / 32f
