Hello Fellow Humans, The USA has people who are homeless all over and they use the toilet on the street. So yeah. Also I know a woman from india. She is in an arranged marriage and is happy. I asked her about it. She told me this. Think about it when you date you have nonidea who the man is and if he is lying. With arranged marriages the oarents seek out other parents and they meet the man and make sure he is good enough for their daughter. They make sure the man and his family are quality people. They basically interview a bunch of families and men. Then a parent or ilder sibling will go with on the first date. They may sit at another table but they make sure nothing happens to the woman. She told me arranged marriages have a higher success rate than marriages in the USA. And yes we can divorce if we need to. In fact women have a lot of power in india apparently. But unlike the USA in India women prefer to have the power behind the scenes. They dont feel the need to make their husband feel less than like American women. So dont knock arranged marriages especially when the usa has something like a 60% divorce rate.
Please do not excuse india of its mistakes by comparing it to the west. Because if we compare a third world country to a modern country we find tons of mistakes to pinpoint in india. Its flawed justice system, employment problems, inequality, primitive institutions such as even the arranged marriage that you just mentioned, child marriages, the shitty caste system. India is a shitty country and it is deserving of the criticism it receives since it has barely improved over the last few years.
