I never got that. It's the fucking suburbs it's not as if people don't own garages.
theres usually way more cars parked on the street. it was pretty empty that day. Also, some people have 3 cars, or have visitors, not every car can park in a garage.

For those people who have never experienced the hail storm! Its hot a snow fall! It a soild ice ball not like snow and that can actually injured or damages cars and a person body!
For all the people saying why they didn't just park inside the garage. Wells, Its the suburbs of Calgary so guaranteed each household almost has 3-4 cars no joke, theres probably 2 parked inside already. Plus theres people living in many of the basements so they're usually only allowed to park outside. Also it was a flash hail storm in the middle of summer so no predicting that crap.

Golf ball sized hail hurts like a mother fucker. I had to make about a 20 foot run from my car to my porch in a hail storm very similar to this. Only spent about 3 or 4 seconds total out in it but it was enough for me to take some knocks. Reminded me of getting hit with a paintball on the bare skin.
i had the same experience with smaller size. like maybe half. i can hear all the knock inside my head as it hit. i ran from my car to the door and it was like 5 sec too.

Oh, yeah! There have been Hailstones, about the size of a human hand, that have fallen here in the U. S. Can you imagine what a massive amount of damage, and possibly lethal damage, too, that would occur, if a hailstone that huge, hit somebody directly in the head?

In Texas, where I live, we had a hailstorm with a tornado. The size of the stones went from pee sized up through grapefruit. No, I am not kidding. Grapefruit. Cars, tucks, motorcycles, semi trucks, really anything outside was utterly destroyed or next to destroyed. Windshields completely gone. Several people were killed and many were injured from the stones. One had a direct hit from a grapefruit sized stone, it nearly broke his skull in half. He was in a coma for weeks. He died.

yeah, you'd think with everyone with an iphone in their pocket these days, there'd be better videos. I think about what i hate when people video some event and they're shooting in portrait instead of landscape on the lowest setting possible, or they cut away just when something crazy happens.

+Victor W in my area of the city we last got damaging hail like this in August 2012.
I last had it in my area in August 2014 and less that 2 years later, it happened again.

we have this too around here. It happens very rarely and just on 1-2 city each times. You have to be unlucky to get a real gold ball sized storm.

I had this happen to me back in 2010 or sometime when I was young. On the house was a skylight window and they came pouring down. I was so scared they were going to break the window.
