Excellent mate. I first used Habit Rogue in 1981 in Sydney. It stood out with it's Citrus freshness which I loved. Now my wife bought me the new HR but in perfume form. It looks like whiskey, I'm not sure but I still think I prefer that original smell in 81, whether it was EDT or EDP, I don't know.
ah the darker colour, it must be the EDP, which I actually tried first and really enjoyed, but the EDT has my heart now. Amazing that you've experiance with HR for over 40 years. Thanks for sharing my friend!
The first time I tried a sample of Habit Rouge was many years ago. I found it dandyish and sickeningly sweet. Not my thing. But then years later, I did a blind buy for the EDT, no doubt reformulated by the great Thierry Wasser, and am glad I did. It’s much lighter, with a greater emphasis on citrus, drying down to a pleasant and not-too-sweet vanilla. I like to wear it for formal occasions during the warmer months. I’ve never smelled the modern EDP, but I’m guessing that Wasser took the DNA of the original EDT and tweaked it to give it a more modern edge. Even though I’ve never smelled it I think I’ll stick with my modern EDT.
Heritage edt still a magnificent fragrance. In its simplified form, a masculine musk over a balmy soap base. Clearly takes inspiration from the base of Zino, which takes inspiration from...Shalimar? Or so I've heard. 😄 Then again, perhaps Habit Rouge took the more direct route. Both fragrances in my top 12 for life, not in the popular video way, but the ACTUAL way. 😂 Ain't gonna be changin'. 🧡❤ Appreciate your impressions!

Ah i wonder if you tried the EDP, I find that it's alot of more sweeter than the EDT, which is alot more fresh and citrusy.
