I'm from Eindhoven, born and raised and still live here. 🙂 I love this tunnel as do most inhabitants of my city, as well as the thousands of university students and tourists. Unfortunately though the Dommeltunnel will be demolished within the next five years or so, creating a vast green area and park around the river Dommel. That will mean the wnd of the Silly Walk mural. But there's good news as well: the city council have agreed the Silly Walk mural will return, the location is yet to be confirmed as there are many major construction projects coming up through the next decade or so. It may be in another tunnel but it may also be on the wall of a building. But it definitely will return somewhere in the city center, that's for sure! 👍🏻
Cleese was paying the Dutch a Python complement by calling them silly. The highest. Well, maybe not the supreme complement. That would be a dead parrot. Or a larch. Maybe a blancmange.

No, the Dommel is a small river flowing through the center of Eindhoven (not just through Eindhoven, the Dommel is about 120 km long). The name has nothing to do with _stupid_ or _silly._ "Dommeltunnel" just means "a tunnel for the Dommel".
