Just got mine, the small one in Carbon Steel. Carbon Steel is harder than Stainless with the only con that it can rust if you don’t know how to season or gets too wet, the big pro for me is that once seasoned it becomes completely nonstick, After seasoned the eggs just slide. Thanks for the review, I’m an experienced camper and this looks sturdy and definitely useful.
Absolutely, that's why I bought the high carbon steel. It will last forever. Plus, you can weld supports much easier to the grill part to add some strength.
Nice video! I think the grill should also have a way to feed wood while the grill is in the lowest setting. Just a decent cut out on one side could work. Love the bush fix.
Thanks for this. I saw it on FB today and am considering getting the titanium one. So far as the supports, I would imagine it wasn't designed to hold so much weight since the pics only show food on that grill part. WHIIIICH you mentioned after I typed all that lol
Right now it’s on sale for $150. Should I pull the trigger? I love that it’s wood burning. I travel in a camper and sold my gas Webber since it won’t fit in the small camper. Hmm…
well this sold me on it! I really like how it breaks down flat , I dont care about the weight because I wouldn't use it for backpacking, this would be a great little grill for river trips or even just when I want to cook a steak even at home and use little wood scraps rather than dump half a bag of charcoal into my larger grill. I think I would use a piece of steel square stock and make a couple notches in it as you did the stick so I could set my coffee perculator or small cast iron on it without all the flex. great review .
Best solution to fix the weight distribution issue is to use risers on the grill. You could easily use nuts and bolts for this and being that you can undo the nuts and bolts, it’s still fairly small in your gear.
I love this idea and I want to purchase literally right now !! But just as I was about to buy I started thinking about warping problems!! So my question to y’all who already have this do you guys notice any major warping ???!!!!
I’ve done wood and charcoal in the small model (spark) and no issues with warping. Follow the seasoning instructions before use though and it will work great
Love your fix but wouldn’t it burn up with the fire being right there? Would be great if you used the wood as a template for a metal solution. Looks very interesting.
That’s what they said they would do. It is further away than it looks and you don’t want to cook with a huge open flame anyways, so once it gets to coals you pop it in to hold it
I've noticed a lot of people cooking over flame instead of hot coals with these little portable fire pits. Is that because they are too small to sustain a bed of hot coals?
Absolutely, it’s an easy fix and guess what? They have already contacted me and are working on adding in support pieces to their updated grills!! Thank you for watching
I would assume no because most metals after the initial thermo-cycle will stay the way they are. I do know from working with the company that they are redesigning the grill based off the suggestions I gave and others. Warping was part of it
Thank goodness for Fast Forward. No need to see you walk through puddles. .... but I'm glad I watched because I learned that it won't suit my needs. Good job, just keep it faster.
Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know I needed to make videos that way, guess you can’t be creative anymore 🤷♂️. I appreciate you watching but there’s 10 thousand more people who disagree with you.
I’m sorry, I realized that after uploading it. This model is 8lbs and the smaller Spark is 4lbs. The link to their website with all the info is in my description too. Thank you for watching
Thank you for the comment. Yes this is exactly what I said, I’m assuming you didn’t watch the whole video and just looked up what it weighed after a bit. I specifically say, if you are a backpacker and ultra lighter then this product wasn’t designed for you but as a car camper or even day hiking like I did here, it’s totally viable. I’m curious to know what you think are better options and have the versatility like this does. Can actually have a hot fire to hang around and warm you, food and drink and skewers, etc...
I guess but you’re also talking more like I’m at a state park lol. Car/truck camping for me is being able to walk to your vehicle if needed, not live out of it with bbq grills lol. Regardless you didn’t watch the video and hear me exactly say, if you are a backpacker than this isn’t for you ha. Have a good one
Oh my well I guess you’ve never seen a movie without words as soon as the camera starts rolling 😱 You are THE only person out of the thousands that have watched this that didn’t understand most videos now are like this. It’s very peaceful for most and you get a good idea where I am and what I’m doing. Finish the video then let me know what ya think lol
Thank you for watching all that rambling lol and sadly for me to get back to where I was for peace and quiet and to be able to film, is quite a trek so whenever I can I carry light weight for the day unless camping. Even then I assumed people would be able to imagine how you could cook steak like any normal grill, veggies etc. I also included the link to their website in the description so that you could see how the company itself uses their product. All that rambling sure was helpful to most everyone else that watched this, including the company who will be updating and making changes to the product based of my testing
If you've ever cooked on an outdoor grill you'd be able to tell that it will cook meat, vegetables, or whatever just fine. It has several levels to raise the cooking surface (which seems to be very solid) to accommodate cooking temps. Why be like that?
Seriously love that you bushcrafted a solution. Good video, great vibes.
Thank you man, appreciate it
Easy fix!.....Just cut the notches into the skewers and use them for support!!
Good idea making the stick brace. Nice review
Thanks a lot!
Yupp I'll buy one when they add the support beam on it most definitely!
Same
Small scrap of flat bar steel and an angle grinder and you can make the support in 15 min .
I'm a Burton and I approve this video....subscribed.
Thanks!!
Great idea for the front support. Beautiful knife btw.
Thanks a lot!

All is well for now

It’s a super versatile piece of gear and version 2 is coming!
@@TheBeardedBurton oh wow. I almost just bought one, but I'm gonna wait. Do you know when v2 is coming?
Excellent Vid - Problem / Solution. I thought of a few other probs in the design. I almost pulled the trigger, but will wait till next version.
Thank you for watching, I plan on doing an updated version when they release
Great review! Crow✌️
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this review. I like your style. Subscribed.
Thank you for the kind words, appreciate the support!
Great video, thank you
Thank you, appreciate you watching!
Great video, I think I’ll pick one up. Looks like it will grill up a BOMBA steak
Yes it will!!

i AM HAPPY WITH MINE USED IT ONLY 7 TIMES , CARBON STILL NO WARPING YET
Well done on the review
Thank you for watching, appreciate the comment
Great video!
Thank you so much for watching

They are working on version 2 with the modifications I suggested in the video, a small lightweight metal piece is all that is needed.
So the warping everyone talks about doesn’t seem to be a big deal? Thanks for the review!
It wasn’t for me
I love this idea and I want to purchase literally right now !! But just as I was about to buy I started thinking about warping problems!!
So my question to y’all who already have this do you guys notice any major warping ???!!!!
No nothing major, and by now it’s probably better. This video was shot before the were even available for purchase, as a tester really
I’ve done wood and charcoal in the small model (spark) and no issues with warping. Follow the seasoning instructions before use though and it will work great
New subscriber here. Great suggestions, very informative.
Thank you for the sub!
Really good review, I’ll be checking this grill out
Thanks a lot, appreciate you watching and leaving a comment

That’s what they said they would do. It is further away than it looks and you don’t want to cook with a huge open flame anyways, so once it gets to coals you pop it in to hold it
This could thrive in a bike/quad camping niche. Too heavy for backpackers, a bit flimsy for car campers. 😃
That’s what it’s made for exactly. And it’s not too flimsy for car camping. Not sure what makes it too flimsy for cars but ATVs hahaha
Any idea if they will make a titanium version? It would be crazy expensive, but there would be a niche for it for sure.
Yea I doubt it, so with this being their first product maybe but 🤷♂️
Great video! I'm also interested in your coffee cup. Where did you get that?
Thank you for watching! I had bought it from a custom maker
I could see otzi punching out a couple more pieces of steel for “supports.” If they do, you should get the credit!
They’re working on it!
What was in the orange tube that you used to start the fire?
It’s a fire starter called Fat Rope Stick by ProCampTek
Thx!
Did you get the regular steel or the stainless grill?
They sent me the stainless steel
Seems like a good grill for motorcycle camping ...I'm interested
It would be excellent for that! You should check them out for sure. Thank you for watching
What are the assembled measurements... can't find on the website
Hmmm not sure about that one, sorry
You're cool dude! Just subscribed!
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the support
I've noticed a lot of people cooking over flame instead of hot coals with these little portable fire pits. Is that because they are too small to sustain a bed of hot coals?
No they can sustain coals for sure, I was just boiling water here and in a hurry ha!
Thanks for watching
Great video good review
Thanks a lot, appreciate you watching
Could make one or two of those supports out of mostly flattened pipe and they'd fit in the bag, also great review.
Absolutely, it’s an easy fix and guess what? They have already contacted me and are working on adding in support pieces to their updated grills!!
Thank you for watching
Question I have is... does it deform after being heated over time? If not, money. I'll get one.
I would assume no because most metals after the initial thermo-cycle will stay the way they are. I do know from working with the company that they are redesigning the grill based off the suggestions I gave and others. Warping was part of it
I like it! Thank you! ATB Sam Adler
It’s really cool! Thanks a lot for watching and leaving a comment!
Hey I think I missed it in the video.
Was this made out of titanium or regular metal?
Stainless steel

Sorry, wrong again lol. It’s past 11K views 😉
@@TheBeardedBurton okay..... rock on.
Could also just place an over grill that stands on the ground over the whole thing
Yea you could!
Thanks for the review, I’ve seen these on social media and have wondered if they were any good or not.
For sure! Thank you for watching!
They all warp even in videos. You can see the front angles plate curves to crap
The warping mine experienced wasn’t anything that kept it from being functional and it still fits together and works fine
@@TheBeardedBurton think im gonna order one for the side by side
Dude you hinted around to the weight of it but never said how much it actually weighed...
I’m sorry, I realized that after uploading it.

The link to their website with all the info is in my description too.

Nice but I’m not sure is worth $350?..
That’s now what this one is. This one is $179
kayak canoe camping
Should have got the Titanium version. Way lighter....
They sent me this
@@TheBeardedBurton free is always nice
Too heavy for backpacking at 4 and 8lbs. If you are car camping, there would be much better options in my opinion.

@@37gdog Webber however small takes too much space for what it does.

Lol thanks, can’t wait for your review video teaching me how!
All that rambling on for 12mins, for you too only make coffee, how lame is that...I what too see how it cooks real food, not water boiling...
