Its kind of a Americanized " Mexican" food. If you are here in the South(Texas) it's considered, Tex/Mex Food . There are so many varietys of Nachos you could get.. from traditional " American" w/ Ground beef and toppings/ to Real Mexican Nachos with Fajita/ Queso and Toppings. It really depends on the restaurant.

Great video as always! Just a little FYI the double “l” in Spanish has a “y” sound so gallo is pronounced “GAH yoh” 😁

Nachos!!! During my travels in Mexico, I was in Piedras Negros (black rock) eating at a very well known, older restaurant. I was sitting at the bar waiting for my friend to arrive and struck up a conversation with the bartender who was the cutest older gentleman. We had a conversation about the local cuisine to which he told me an amazing story. The story goes that there was a group of American wives of soldiers from the base that came into the restaurant. Looking for something that would accommodate there palate, the chef took tortilla chips, cheese, and jalapenos and nachos were made. So, yes they originated in Mexico but made for Americans.Today they are loaded with all kinds of things (though I have never seen them with sausage, ham, and curds). Now safety on the other hand is a different issue. I have traveled all over Mexico from the back areas to the most exclusive and it was amazing. Today though I am not sure that I would travel extensively due to all that is going on. It is not out of fear but out of caution. Believe me, with my work I have went into drug dens, crack houses, gang infested neighborhoods with my work and was not hesitant. However, the laws of the land and laws in general are different. I could tell you many, MANY horror stories but I will reserve that. You have to consider that let's take Mark for example, he is male traveling with a crew and I am sure has some types of permits that keeps him "safe". The resorts are actually quite affordable compared to let's say Hawaii. I really think as long as you stick to the interior you will be safer. Victoria, when making nachos, put a layer of chips, meats of choice, and cheese (preferable shredded for a more even consistency), than repeat. That way most all of the chips get toppings and you do not have stragglers. I am curious as to why ragina would call anyone whiny? Bruno is from your beloved Hawaii and is an amazing philanthropist that gives back without hesitation especially to his beloved Hawaii. He is actually (imo) a very fascinating gentleman. Can she explain her bases for calling him whiny for curiosity sake? Thanks! Peace and light.

I'm pretty sure it's been Americanized 🙂 I love to make my nachos with a cheesesteak topping. Omg you need to try it. It's so so good. Shredded steak with cheese, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and green peppers. Yums
