If you liked this, guess what? There's a whole bunch more episodes of Game Changer and its spinoff Make Some Noise on Dropout, and a new season of Game Changer starting VERY SOON. And it's only $6 a month! Or you can go annual and pay EVEN LESS!
Like, how soon?
@@gamingmineko6763 REAL soon.
@@dropout not soon enough 😂 tell Sam to hurry up! I’ve watched the whole series a few times and need more!
not to sound like a suck-up, but dropout is genuinely one of my best, most-used subscriptions every month.
love the shows, love the half-hour formats, love everyone who’s ever been on it. y’all always do such a good job at making me smile.
Someone needs to talk to Sam about how to pronounce GIF correctly.
For anyone not entirely sure why Brennan won the "upset a producer" section, reminder that this episode originally aired during the *height* of COVID-19.
I thought he was gonna spill the water at the camera equipment or some of the crew behind the curtains 😅
I remember watching it at the time and getting slightly upset on behalf of Sam Reich as well. It was that shocking. Absolutely great.
I actually thought he might get fired for that.
Why weren't they wearing masks?
@@smileyp4535 regular testing, isolation from everyone not on the team, and the fact that they were all very apart while on set I imagine.
The "Say something we'll have to bleep" segment is the peak of the episode for me. After the natural "swearing" solution from all of them, Brennan, Izzy, and Lou each take a unique and creative approach to the instructions.
@@Midori_Seabreeze who does he talk about? pls tell me.

"That's a salsa everyone at the table will enjoy" is the best metaphor I've ever heard for something so mild. Brilliant.
Yeah kinda genius
Brennan's swagger when he strolls out to cough all over the set is peak power move. This game isn't about flair. This game isn't about awe. This game is about sheer, unadulterated, unrestrained will to WIN. lol xD
"I would do anything."
"For what?"
"To win ANYTHING."
@@JeremyHoffman in the machine episode where the contestants SOs were verifying statements as true or not.
Brendan tells a story about the bed he lost his v-card in then later got cucked in.
He then goes on to say. " There isnt a corner of his heart I will not confess for 5 points."
And I very much believe him.
Was looking for a comment about this part! Thing is, when COVID's a long forgotten memory, and people watch this segment, it won't have the same sense of shock and awe. Or, people will just need to be reminded of those trying times once upon a time 😚
This game is about brennan.
@@GoldGiggler IIRC Sam actually had pretty bad case of COVID beforehand, so Brennan knew *exactly* what he was doing.
Lou doing an Ocean's 11 edit for his 'rule of 3' punchline on the butthole bit was the highest order of humorous composition and should be appreciated as such.
The enormous wave of realization for the "Something we'll have to bleep" segment is one of the finest comedic moments I've ever seen

Brennan Izzy and Lou make the funniest combination of comedy because they literally act like that 3 by 3 Grid of Good, Neutral and Evil

I think Brennan is Chaotic Lawful and Lou is Evil Good
Everyone talking about the bleeping scene, but honestly, my all time favorite will always be the visual effects one. Izzy and Brennan just go full silly with the buttholes, with no explanation, and then Lou comes up with a montage on the spot and makes it about buttholes. It's art, really.
Oh Izzy had a reason! They were on her mind already given what she had written on her prediction!
the lou oceans 11 butthole twist is going in the memory vault and there's nothing I can do about it

It was 1 like from 1k so I had to like it. Rule 89 of the Internet
Just how intense Lou gets into it
Everyone talks about Brennan's amazing quotes but we can't forget the legendary Sam quote:
"The little computer in Brennan's head is so excited already!"
I love that Brennan realized Sam wasn't worried enough about their cursing and requested to go again
The "Upset a Producer" segment was gold. Brennan always goes for the kill.

Watching this for the FIRST TIME just a week after OJ's death makes this drastically funnier than I would've thought otherwise lol

Lou's face at "upset a producer" is literally a face that knows it's about to cause a lot of harm
it's such an annoyance, like now someone has to spend more time testing those lights and making sure they're working before turning them all off again
@@ApexGaleUm actually, those lights would likely never need to be turned on or off individually, because most productions would have them in sequence on a single strand, similar to (or possibly even literally using) the same rope lights you might see on a patio ceiling - meaning they’d be on one plug and thus one switch for power toggle. But you’re still correct that they’d need to be individually screwed back in after Lou’s move, which, as Sam points out, not only wasted time as Lou was doing it; it also wasted time to reset, AND time in the edit since Lou likely took WAY longer than what we saw.
And, while this wasn’t brought up, it also creates a continuity dilemma. See, the default would be to leave those lights off for the rest of the episode. But if they were to choose to cut ‘Upset a Producer’ from the show (because it’s too ‘inside baseball’ for the audience to appreciate), we wouldn’t have Lou’s bit to explain why those lights are suddenly off. But the inverse is true if they leave the segment in: relighting the lights would require an on-camera explanation for how and why they’re back on, which would mean breaking one of the few nearly unbreakable fourth wall rules: you never admit “on the air” that the show gets cut down. So this created a very real possibility that they’d either be FORCED to keep that (very long) segment in the show for continuity … or meticulously edit the episode, shot-by-shot, to digitally superimpose the lit lights over the darkened ones.
In short, you never, EVER, drastically change the appearance of something (or someone) on a set unless you can GUARANTEE that it will be explained within the lore of the production.
Brennan cleverly asked if Sam could repeat his instruction because when giving Brennan another shot, Sam didn't say "Sam Says"
7:44 Brennan realizing that there’s a line even he won’t cross to win 😂
That's because it was worth only one point. God help whoever it was about if five points were on the line
He did say there's no corner of *his* heart he wouldn't turn away for five points. Other people’s hearts and secrets are not his to sell for points

This one is truly an all time classic game changer episode. One of the funniest videos ever made. I've watched it on dropout a hundred times.
same. rewatched it so many times
@TallDryGlass Honestly, Dropout is worth it for GameChanger alone. But considering they made spin-offs of the "make noises" episode and the absolutely delightful musical episode, have five seasons of the really funny Breaking News and some older classics like two seasons of Paranoia (what happened with that show anyway?) and Total Forgiveness, it's probably the best 5$ I spend every month. and I don't even have time for Dimension 20.

Izzy should not have lost a point for the 2nd "Sam says harmonize" - not because she was right, but because she was lucky that Brennan and Lou were right: You need multiple notes to harmonize. This is by far one of my favorite Game Changer episodes. They aren’t competing against each other, they’re competing against Sam. They even help each other multiple times by asking Sam to repeat himself when they catch him, pointing out when he doesn’t say the right thing, and even trying to stop the others from doing things. @@Midori_Seabreeze Yo, I don't know what life is like in your area, but I can assure you that the pandemic is definitely not over in most places and seems like it isn't ending anytime soon.
Plus, most production sets still take COVID incredibly seriously to this day, and for good reason.
@@Midori_Seabreeze Yes, although the mandates being repealed wasn't done out of lack of danger, but rather because a vocal part of the population was upset they couldn't "return to normal", and a lot of apathy towards COVID. I can only speak for Canada (although from my understanding, things are worse in the US), but despite vaccination rates being high, infection rates are nearing 6000+ new cases per day in the province I live in (Ontario). The situation will vary from province to province, but it's not going well anywhere really. Masking mandates were retired despite cases still being quite high, and on top of that, a lot of tools to track COVID infection to be better informed of the transmission rate were also discontinued, so those who still want to stay inform depend on a handful of researchers who track traces of COVID in wastewater to get estimates; because of COVID fatigue and the carelessness of different levels of governments, people are under the impression COVID is long since past while hospitalizations are at record highs, and waiting times from Emergency Rooms are over 15+ hours, because health care workers are understaffed and beyond overworked. People seem to think they're immune to COVID because they got vaccinated, when they're only protected from serious illness when infected, but are still at risk of Long COVID. Most people don't wear masks in public, but end up contracting COVID multiple times. In my province alone, there have been an estimate of 1.4 million infections, and a confirmed count of a little over 14500 COVID-related deaths to date.
To put it very mildly, it's not good, and I wish we had the level of community care you seem to have :(
@@DanielBoutinAwesome Oh, I didn’t want to make light of the situation. I meant like future-future watchers: like a generation later. People with an inaccurate sense of our history: thinking that Covid was over once the mandates ended and vaccines rolled out. They’re gonna say, but Covid was over in 2022 wasn’t it? (Not that they’re correct. Does that make sense now? I’m sincerely trying to explain myself without sounding sarcastic or antagonistic.)
Like you said, the documentation and the numbers getting recorded aren’t as easy to access. Plus, the fatigue of the information means history will gloss over this period as post-pandemic.
I completely agree with you and should have maybe worded my original statement differently. Sorry I wasn’t clear!

Brennan coughing was the equivalent of someone pulling a pan on a hand grenade and blindly tossing it in the air.
I love at 13:00 when Izzy turns on Brennan's competitive side with one word. Note how he's never behind her after that. Before that "Always", "No, that could ruin a relationship", after, "There is nothing I won't do for a point".
I don't think she meant it like that lol
Oh, no, that is not what she meant
Izzy's very confident "buttholes!" is one of my favorite moments in Game Changer.
Also, in hindsight it makes perfect sense that buttholes were on her mind given her prediction.
The galaxy butthole is great.
Then the other two actually follow through with continuing the joke
I will never get over izzy fanning herself when encouraging Brennan to say "I will do anything to win anything"
The second Brennan blew that horn after the prediction papers were given, I knew what he had done, and when the reveal came it felt like butter on toast. Simple yet effective, He's a genius!
"Sam says upset a producer"
"Sam also says don't ruin any expensive equipment"
Lou, upon hearing these two statements, decides the first thing he will attempt to do is knock over the set backdrop
Lou's visual effects bit is the longest, stupidest joke that this show has ever done and I love it
now behind jake going supersayan +sword
4:40 I've seen this in shorts before, but I only just realized that Brennan said "say the instructions one more time" in case Sam would get him for thinking "go ahead" was enough
This is the most sadistic version of Simon Says I've ever seen. Can't wait to use this with my second graders.
If you get dropout, they have brought back Sam Says twice more and each has been of the highest entertainment quality.
"Salmon says try to break down a complicated cardboard box."

That, to me, was the best joke of the night. It killed.
23:32 Brennan was so ready to THROW a hand at the thought that Sam was going to deprive him of his devastating 26-point victory over something like this
I think you can actually see Brennan's murderous aura reflecting as fear in Sam's eyes at that moment
18:35 I love that fearful quiet addendum just in case someone chooses violence
The fact that he still had to put "Sam Says" in front of it, because he had already created a chaotic universe where the players might take it as permission to break something if he didn't say it.
And Lou’s first experiment is testing how stable the backdrop was. It was definitely a needed addendum 😂
There are so many great moments here but Lou casually pressing against the wall to test its sturdiness got a laugh out of me real good.
Lou's smile when he's asked to upset a producer is gold.
