- In This Video, We have a GE Side by Side Refrigerator, Model #GSH25JSXNSS, In Which the Complaint was that it Stopped Working Completely, Only the Lights Stayed on, But it was Not Cooling or Freezing. When We got there, We Found that the Digits Were Not On on the Display and Like the Customer Mentioned, Nothing Was Coming on But the Lights. After Checking, We Found that the Main Control Board Was Faulty and Needed to Be Replaced. This is a Usually Simple Repair. The burned out resistor is the fan resistor did you have to replace the evaporator fan motor in the freezer as well?
Thosd boards are pretty easy to fix. I picked up some electrolitic capacitors from our local electronics store and rdmoved and replaced yhem. Was hard at all and saved a lot of money over a new board. Trust me, if i can do it anyone can.
What kind of capacitor do I tell them I need my evaporator fan resistor is blown I was thinking replace that and maybe the evaporator fan instead of replacing the whole motherboard
@@clay1671 remove the board and take it to the electronic store. They should be able to tell you what you need. You can also read the label on the capacitors. It will tell you the voltsge and micro ferrets.
Hey what powers/controls the fan on a GSS25GSHJCSS? I already replaced the control board and the fan still isn't working.
I have a GE side by side, but it has no control panel access in the rear. I'm taking the risk and scheduled an appliance repair company to check it tomorrow (not GE authorized). This blows me away... I called GE Customer Service today, in hopes of getting an authorized GE repairman out to fix it ASAP. After waiting more than an hour to get a live person on the phone, the lady at GE said it would be Dec. 5th before a technician could come out. Today is Nov. 20, which means waiting 15 days just to get a technician to come out, at a fee of 114.00 service call. RIDICULOUS. I bought this GE frig over 10 years ago, and when I got it in the house, the ice maker had an issue. They sent someone out within a day or two. I spoke to an appliance repairman I met today, who said that in the Miami area, GE is using a subcontractor, A & E Appliance Repair to do their service work. If the best they can do is to come out in 15 days, then GE should either hire other subcontractors, or stop selling appliances.
I have a frigidaire model that looks just like this g.e. could it be the same fridge different branding ? The boards look the same as the ones in this video. I dont want to order it and waste 200 dollars i cant return.

At the 9 minute mark, which wires get spliced to which? My connector broke and I am not sure which wire goes to which.
Those are called resistors and you need a ohm meter to measure its vaule 3.3 ohms being orange orange with the third color being gold 2 watts power modular board it is called can be repaired if you know electronics
Resistors, they are resistors for the condenser fan and evap fans.
What if I don't want to buy a new board the old one can be fixed? Or there's no way to fixed?
I switched out the board but didn't get digits I'm stumped
You have to check the wiring on the bottom left freezer door
What is the PCB part number & price for GE GSH25JGDD BB? Is PCB to correct dead front display or correct my problems 2?
Problem on mine: not freezing, warm refrigerator, fan in freezer turns fine. Anyone knows the problems /or suggestions?
Did you got ice buildup on the freezer?
@@DIYRepairsNow No ice buildup in the freezer. All frozen food melt, I can see the freezer's fan turning.
