I just saw on another video with a comment stating Travis is supposedly paying for all funerals. I don’t know who this Travis is and honestly have no desire to learn about him. I absolutely agree there is no price for the loss of a loved one. My 18 y/o cousin was rear-ended, tased, kidnapped, raped, and murdered by a complete stranger twice her age in 1997. Thankfully, her half-clothed body was found 4 days later in a ravine. The monster’s brother who was an accomplice hours after my cousin lost her life went to the police just over a month after her murder. He was given a deal for testifying against his brother during the 3 week trial. The monster was found guilty on every count and sentenced to death. In his last appeal, the judge found him “not competent for execution” so now he sits on death row until he is ever found competent for execution…which will never happen. Last I checked, he is 1 of 8 death row inmates in Indiana. Extreme insult to my cousin, our family, and all her friends is the fact that death row inmates are given a pet to help them emotionally as they wait to be executed. They trust a convicted murderer with the life of a cat to help soothe him, but what about my cousin? What about our family? There is no justice. We can’t bring my cousin back. She never got the chance to graduate college, get married, have a career, have kids, become an aunt, sister-in-law, or grandma. She never got to live her life and experience life as an adult. She had just started her freshman year at college and turned 18 y/o 4 months earlier. She’s been gone 24 yrs this past September and the pain is still so raw for all of us, especially my aunt and younger cousin. My aunt lost her first born and only daughter, my cousin lost his big sister and only sibling. My siblings and I lost 1 of the only 2 female cousins in our family. No amount of money or time will ever ease the pain of the loss of a loved one, especially in such a horrific way. My condolences to all the victims, their families, and friends.

It’s always been completely astonishing to me how they let so many people into concerts. It’s not worth it. I get that you’re trying to run a business and make money by selling tickets and I totally get that, but this is not okay. There should never be this many people in that small of a space. Something needs to change.

The Waken Metal festival in Germany has over 80,000 people! But the crowd isn't like this. The pushing and shoving ? WTH? And I have seen many Metsl or Rock concerts stopped for 1 injured person. This was disgusting and disgraceful! And should've never happened. I saw an interview with an ICU nurse who was there. She passed out and they crowd surfed her across to a security guard. But they were on the side. When she woke up, she ended up doing CPR because they only had a few medical people. The only had 1 ambu bag.( to help give breaths) and one stretcher. She said they started CPR on people who were breathing!!! WTH? "They had little to no experience '" She asked one of the medics to check for a pulse while she did CPR but the nedic didn't know how to!!! This was a disaster waiting to happen. If I was injured or lost a loved one....I would not be responsible for my actions. if I found this out.
I’m five foot and I’ve been at the barricades, mosh pits, sides and backs at metal shows and festivals and it’s never been like the Travis concert. How can no one in a group that big know basic pit etiquette? My first concert was a metal concert and my friend was pregnant and we were never unsafe or in danger.

I'm never a fan of concerts, and it's always crazy to me to get that close to that many people. BTS did it right this year by doing an online concert instead of in person. It's not safe at this point to be in person both because of the pandemic and because people's mentality is all messed up.

I live in a relatively small area (boise, idaho) and I've seen a few big artists. Metallica, kid Cudi (which was outdoors at night like this concert), trans Siberian orchestra, and a few popular pink Floyd cover bands like Brit Floyd. None of them had a giant crowd of people really. The kid Cudi concert was probably the biggest one, maybe more than 5000 people. I was about 150 feet away from the front stage and able to comfortably sit on the ground and smoke a joint with friends. Idk if high schools near you have more than 1500 students, but the high school I went to here had around 1500 students, and I would say our football games never exceeded like 2000 people.

Bouncers and concert security guards are not required to have any emt skills, thats not considered part of their job. Large venues are supposed to have separate personnel for that purpose. When you go to the bar do you think that the bouncers are also emt's ?

I just saw on another video with a comment stating Travis is supposedly paying for all funerals. I don’t know who this Travis is and honestly have no desire to learn about him. I absolutely agree there is no price for the loss of a loved one. My 18 y/o cousin was rear-ended, tased, kidnapped, raped, and murdered by a complete stranger twice her age in 1997. Thankfully, her half-clothed body was found 4 days later in a ravine. The monster’s brother who was an accomplice hours after my cousin lost her life went to the police just over a month after her murder. He was given a deal for testifying against his brother during the 3 week trial. The monster was found guilty on every count and sentenced to death. In his last appeal, the judge found him “not competent for execution” so now he sits on death row until he is ever found competent for execution…which will never happen. Last I checked, he is 1 of 8 death row inmates in Indiana. Extreme insult to my cousin, our family, and all her friends is the fact that death row inmates are given a pet to help them emotionally as they wait to be executed. They trust a convicted murderer with the life of a cat to help soothe him, but what about my cousin? What about our family? There is no justice. We can’t bring my cousin back. She never got the chance to graduate college, get married, have a career, have kids, become an aunt, sister-in-law, or grandma. She never got to live her life and experience life as an adult. She had just started her freshman year at college and turned 18 y/o 4 months earlier. She’s been gone 24 yrs this past September and the pain is still so raw for all of us, especially my aunt and younger cousin. My aunt lost her first born and only daughter, my cousin lost his big sister and only sibling. My siblings and I lost 1 of the only 2 female cousins in our family. No amount of money or time will ever ease the pain of the loss of a loved one, especially in such a horrific way. My condolences to all the victims, their families, and friends.

It’s always been completely astonishing to me how they let so many people into concerts. It’s not worth it. I get that you’re trying to run a business and make money by selling tickets and I totally get that, but this is not okay. There should never be this many people in that small of a space. Something needs to change.

The Waken Metal festival in Germany has over 80,000 people! But the crowd isn't like this. The pushing and shoving ? WTH? And I have seen many Metsl or Rock concerts stopped for 1 injured person. This was disgusting and disgraceful! And should've never happened. I saw an interview with an ICU nurse who was there. She passed out and they crowd surfed her across to a security guard. But they were on the side. When she woke up, she ended up doing CPR because they only had a few medical people. The only had 1 ambu bag.( to help give breaths) and one stretcher. She said they started CPR on people who were breathing!!! WTH? "They had little to no experience '" She asked one of the medics to check for a pulse while she did CPR but the nedic didn't know how to!!! This was a disaster waiting to happen. If I was injured or lost a loved one....I would not be responsible for my actions. if I found this out.

I live in a relatively small area (boise, idaho) and I've seen a few big artists. Metallica, kid Cudi (which was outdoors at night like this concert), trans Siberian orchestra, and a few popular pink Floyd cover bands like Brit Floyd. None of them had a giant crowd of people really. The kid Cudi concert was probably the biggest one, maybe more than 5000 people. I was about 150 feet away from the front stage and able to comfortably sit on the ground and smoke a joint with friends. Idk if high schools near you have more than 1500 students, but the high school I went to here had around 1500 students, and I would say our football games never exceeded like 2000 people.

That open crowd festival layout is incredibly dangerous.. as in proceed w/ caution on your own will... WOW! I haven't seen an audience attendance that crowded at a concert since *Woodstock 99* which was a group of rock & roll, couple rap artists, but mainly alternative & heavy metal rock. They described the same "drowning under people water effect" back then @ Woodstock as I heard today from a few astroworld festival goers... that's crazy to imagine... just think if you were actually there in the crowd.. whoa scary!

Let me tell you City officials are the ones who need to be investigated and be held Accountable……What a hypocrisy from city officials, their double moral, double standards have been unveiled by this tragedy that they could have prevented. I work in the Houston medical center, last week NRG did preparations to have this festival, they put barricades to close 2 car lanes all around the perimeter of the stadium on Main Street, Fannin and Kirby Dr. traffic was hell, I was late everyday and so were other people, not to mention that because of the traffic and everyone wanting to be on time to work and medical appointments, this situation caused car accidents that made it even worst. So much tragedy and problems caused by this festival and still in the mids of a pandemic.
People need to come together to point at city officials who had the last word for a 50 thousand ppl event to take place with no restrictions, social distancing, masks requirements, emergency personnel in the event….nothing, people’s lives means nothing to them.
City officials should be held accountable, they don’t care about those kids and their families, they are the real evil and all for money.
I feel so sorry for the families who lost their kids and for everyone else trying to do good for others but it was impossible. Condolences! This is the world we’re all living in were there’s so much hypocrisy and interests only for money, just evil!!!

WHAT! Why the heck weren't security guards trained in basic CPR... Like what!? We had to get trained in CPR on a construction site, and they're supposed to be there literally to keep people safe!

Bouncers and concert security guards are not required to have any emt skills, thats not considered part of their job. Large venues are supposed to have separate personnel for that purpose.

Exactly. Any employee’s that job description is to keep an event safe and controlled should be trained to administer CPR. In fact, as a society we should all know basic life saving techniques. And we should all care a little more about everyone around us and maybe this wouldn’t have happened at all.
