There's a lot of reasons to think Seymour deserves his ultimate fate, but not setting the plant on fire once it starts asking for blood is the big one.
He doesn't die
@@gamer5101 he does in the alternate ending. And in the original movie from the 50s
@@a7x4life6446 And the musical. This is the only scenario where he doesn't die because test audiences gave the film low approval ratings when he died.
Seymour isn’t Inheirntly a bad guy, he just got blinded by All the sudden success he had rarely experienced his whole life. Even towards the end he knows he’s doing the wrong thing but is talked into it by Audrey ii
I'm a plantgirl and look, if my flowers start asking for human blood at the risk of withering, people are going to die.
I can't believe people still care about this movie it's my favorite movie ever
It's my favorite movie of all times tooooo🥰
Mine also ☺️💕
It's a phenomenal movie/musical, to be fair
It’s my favorite musical. My sister’s high school put on a production of it this weekend, I went yesterday and it was awesome.
Why wouldn’t they…?
as a plant mom i understand seymour's struggle. minus the blood part
Especially the blood part
Plants are pretty hard to keep alive but they can thrive if you know how to care for them, recently our bamboo plant died. Mr Bamboo lived for several years.
@@CattleTheCat i would be surprised that someone could kill bamboo, but I've killed 2 cactuses and a succulent
The matte paintings in this film are absolutely gorgeous. I love how well they nailed the stage play look.
True it looks so well including things like filth, puddles, train noises,a mongrel dog that passes mushnick as he crosses and the reddish yellow sky
When you have a newborn this song is kind of a mood.
@@bfly8981 exactly
I used to sing it all the time when I was pregnant lol
i think you should be worried when your baby wants your blood
@@willemdafoelvr XD
When giving them plant food doesn’t work
lol i love how it turns away when he offers him the other finger
It's like a baby. "No! I want the bloody one!"
“Damn roses, damn thorns”.

There were two interesting things that have happened in the past few years first thing is Rick Moranis left acting because of the unfortunate tragic death of his wife and also he decided to stay around and help raise his children on his own which might have been the difficult part for him anyway but then somehow out of the full Blue Moon I read an interesting report and as it turns out Honey I Shrunk the Kids has a third movie in preparation and for the sake of the fans as well as those who have been loyal to helping him throughout his life even through the passing of his wife Rick Moranis who has not been seen in so many years has decided to come back to acting now that his children are all grown up
Nothing like the crazy world of Rick Moranis. Just hearing his name evokes fun and makes you want to watch the movie being previewed.
Rick Moranis is so beautiful. ❤
He actually is 😍
HE IS !!
This movie had the perfect mix of everything
My boyfriend introduced me to the musical and I just learned that there’s a movie about it too!!
Yes and it's theatrical perfection🤌
@@TheBrianna1431 I absolutely agree
its a good sign that ur bf likes little shop of horrors
its the opposite for me
The wonderful thing about this movie is everyone in the cast is perfect for the roles they inhabit.
I've given you sunshine
I've given you dirt
You've given me nothin'
But heartache and hurt
I'm beggin' you sweetly
I'm down on my knees
Oh, please grow for me!
I've given you plant food
And water to sip
I've given you potash
You've given me zip
Oh God, how I mist you
Oh pod, how you tease
Now, please grow for me!
I've given you southern exposure
To get you to thrive
I've pinched you back hard
Like I'm s'posed ta
You're barely alive
I've tried you at levels of moisture
From desert to mud
I've given you grow-lights
And mineral supplements
What do you want from me, blood?
I've given you sunlight
I've given you rain
Looks like you're not happy
'Less I open a vein
I'll give you a few drops
If that'll appease
Now please
Oh, oh, oh, please
Grow for Me!
Baby!Audrey II is totally adorable.
I like how Head of the Class actually did an two part episode of this movie. This movie is an instant classic!
Rick Moranis’ Seymour is one of my favorite all time performances, and this song is one of my all time favorite vocal performances. Rick Moranis isn’t very trained and therefore has some “bad technique”, but he infused SO much emotion and character into his voice it’s just amazing. Classical training and its confines can really flatten characterization while this performance is the definition of storytelling through song-which is the whole point of musical theater. Idc that his pitch is off, I’d rather listen to this over a classically trained singer any day.
Aw, what a cute little plant that's going to grow up and eat me someday...
How the hell did they do that effect where the head of the plant grows larger and larger seamlessly As It's Moving Around??
Based on the way the leaves unfurl, I’d say it looks like stop motion. Might be wrong though
the plant's movement reminds me of Tim Burton's stop motion movies at times
How did you get rid of the film grain? Both the DVD and Blu Ray have a ton of it on there. This looks super sharp. Any chance of getting "Feed Me" in this type of quality? :)
Getting rid of the film grain? That's the secret of a higher power... 😏 As for your other question, I'm afraid I have to disappoint all fans. Every video since the last one was met with an instant global block, regardless of what fashion it was uploaded in. Maybe someday I'll find a way, but I wouldn't count on it... 🥴
My Blu-ray looks like this 🤔
I dont care how ass my life is, if a plant all the sudden started making kissy noises at me and then tried to bite my finger I would grab the clippers so fast
Or... you would become his mommy and feed it 😂
The last part is me waking up on Monday morning
Me at the ending of this song.
WHAT IN THE HECK?!?! ALL THAT AFTER 3 DROPS OF BLOOD?!?!?!?
Literally just the beginning
It is a small plant sooo
It has something to live for now. The blood of the human race.
That’s why you don’t do drugs kids
It's a movie anything can happen
WOW the quality on this is great!! Thank you!
This is one of my all time favorite movies y
The one thing i love about the movie version thats a little better than the show is the dadoo backup chorus and seymour starring out to see audrey its a nice melencholy moment
Watching out of curiosity. A Filipino production is staging this musical this year 2024.
About to audition with this song for Seymour in my highschool play wish me luck!
Did you get the part?
I would grow for him...
Real

I just saw this movie for the first time today and I absolutely loved it!! This one’s my favorite song from it :D
I never really liked the idea of musicals then i watched little shop of horrors and couldn't stop humming Mean Green Mother
I love this movie. I understand why Rick Moranis turned down the newest Ghostbusters, but I wish he was a part. He's so amazing!!! The talent of a true genius does not always shine as bright as others...
Well he originally "retired" from acting when his wife passed away so he could raise his children himself and be there for them always 😊
That little plant is so cute especially when it did that sucky mouth thing
This'll help me audition for my school production of Little Shop of Horrors!
Get the role?
@@ponzufeels Yep.
This song reminds me of Spend This Night with Me from Top Secret!
Rick deserves to be on the sexiest man alive. He is a true man and taking care of his family. Sexiest man alive. He is an amazing actor even if its character driven but nailed every to role like they were made for him. Rick if you ever read this. You are an amazing person and the world needs more nen like you.
i love those cars at 0:16
Slugbug
Watching this on Broadway was dope
2:02 Roses 🌹 Blood 🩸
That's a cute plant!❤❤❤
can we just acknowledge the growing effect at the end of the video?
Thank you
I saw this movie a few weeks ago
Revisiting this story, it's a brilliant example of "foot in the door", a phenomenon where people can be made to do things they would never agree to if approached to by being made to agree to a series of things leading up to it
It's easy for anyone familiar with the story to see this scene and think "He should have gotten rid of of the plant here, after realising that it needed blood", but at this point in the story, having the plant just saved the shop from closing, and his finger is already cut, giving a few drops to the plant is trivial
From there he of course has to progress to intentionally creating cuts on his fingers to continue to feed the plant, and it's not pleasant but they're his fingers to prick, and it's not THAT much, how big could this plant even get?
Big enough that feeding it is starting to take a toll and he can't safely provide it with his own blood anymore
And though Seymour initially balks at the suggestion of feeding it somebody else's blood, the plant pointing out that he has a horrible person who abuses somebody he cares about right there is enough to convince him to at least try; whether or not he would have gone through with it, he ultimately doesn't have to and he's able to have the positives while keeping his hand relatively clean
Just how clean his hands are, of course varies between the play and movie; in the play there's a song that clearly illustrates that although he didn't have the nerve to fire, and felt conflicted about letting Orin asphyxiate, he WAS fully aware of what was happening. In the movie it's more ambiguous: there's one moment where Orin asks for help that's immediately undercut by the effects of the gas, and another near the end that from the perspective of somebody who's that nervous could be easily misinterpreted as "Why are you pointing a gun at me when we don't know each other?" instead of the intended "Why are you just letting me die?", but the combined tension and strangeness of the moment leaves it up the the audience to guess how guilty or innocent Seymour is
Either way, he has a more active role in Mr. Mushnik's death that stays in proportion to the previous one, in the play he convinces Mushnik to lean into the plant's open mouth, while in the movie what happens is more on par with Orin's death in the play where he knows what's happening, he's not directly doing anything more than what he was already doing, but not really doing anything to stop it either besides saying "Uh, sir?" when Mushnik leans in; he doesn't push Mushnik in or instruct him to put his head in the plant's mouth, but just freezes and turns away once the plant has him instead of trying to pull him out
And then there's "The Meek Shall Inherit", I think even in the theatric cut, this song would have tied nicely into the rest of the film, but even the small part that was included in the final film had a line that's good in the play, and great in the movie with its more naïve Seymour: "You know the meek are gonna get what's coming to them"
On the surface it works as a rephrasing of the title and its rewarding connotations that fit to the montage, "You've put up with the hardship, now you're being rewarded", but it also has a cautionary undertone those familiar with the original story can pick up on, "You're reaching the point of no return, thus far you can say that you didn't actively hurt anyone, but you didn't do anything to save them either, and if you continue to let yourself be led by people with a stronger will instead of standing up for what's right, you're going to lose everything you care about and have nothing but your own inaction to blame"
Ultimately, both endings have both outcomes: the director's cut is different from the play's "Kill the plant or die trying" ending, in the director's cut he tries to stop the plant at first, but he's also beaten down for several minutes as he loses Audrey and is attacked by the plant before accepting his fate when he's plucked from the rubble. In the theatric cut he nearly loses Audrey, but successfully saves her, and continues to fight against the plant even after the shop's been brought down around him and successfully finds its weakness, getting a happy ending. Though the different endings were the result of test audiences' reactions, having both available now works as a great example of how our actions, or lack thereof, can lead to drastically different outcomes
WSKID!
Skid row Radioooooo
They should put these songs in the next fallout radio n call it that
Idkwtf I found the little kissing sounds sound so darn cute.
Sah ein Knab ein Roslein schon, Roslaein auf die heide, war so jung und morgenschon, lief er schnell es nah zu sehen.
Man I’ve been in this situation so often, and holy fuck does it suck, shortcoming.
I don’t know why but this movie scared me when I was kid but my brother love it
You’re not alone, it scared the crap outta me too
it has horror in the title.
3:08 snubbed by a shrub
I play this to my ganja plants
Maybe it's just me but I think the original version without the pauses and stuff could be made into a love song without too much tweaking
bro is majestic
My son Robbie was seymour in the school play when he was only 12.

Even as a plant girl, if a plants wants my blood. Its gonna go.
Audrey 2 is very cute when she is little but when she grows up she is no longer just the color and pretty I wanted to know where they left Audrey 2's robots I wanted to know if they threw them away
Now this sounds like Rick Moranis but when he sings suddenly Seymour it doesn't sound like him at all, so does anyone know if he is the one really singing these songs in this movie?
It's still Rick he just drops the New York accent when singing, which makes him sound different
He does his own singing. He is disgustingly talented.
Starts at around 1:02
Thanks!!
He's so ungrateful 😂 Audrey II brought them so much business already
I guess aundry grew more than Seymour expected
this is just the beginning.
Bikin merinding deh 😮😮

I dedicate this song to Drosera Regia
Hello, my little turn coat Trojan horse HOW u DOING 😮
I wonder what happened to this actor. He was the most popular and sought after actor of his time and then just vanished
He retired to take care of his children after his wife died although he’s rumored to be coming back from retirement soon to do another honey I shrunk the kids sequel
i refuse to watch the broadway musical because it just cant be as good as the original movie
it isn't, but it's still good.
Do you mean the non-musical movie from the 60s? Because if not, this movie actually came out AFTER the Broadway musical
