Levi Stubbs really brought this movie to life. He gave the plant a personality, not just songs. On another note, this scene is a lot darker than it appears. This is what negotiating with evil sounds like. You can't bargain with evil without becoming evil yourself.

But this means that anytime Seymour is in frame with Audrey II, Rick Moranis had to act/lip sync at 1/4 the speed aka way slower than normal, so when it is speed up in post, it looks like he is moving at normal speed. I didn't know this until years after I first saw it, I legit could not tell TLDR Rick Moranis is acting in slow motion throughout the movie, because the puppet moved slowly. They just fast forward it to normal speed.

Honestly, this is my favorite song in the movie. I love that we see Seymour genuinely angry once he sees Audrey get hit and how he is fully on board with punishing Orin for what he did. I don't think seeing this movie tops actually seeing the off-Broadway production (THAT was amazing), but this is a very close second to that in my opinion.

"Killing" Orin not only frees Audrey from from an abusive sick pig but also avenged those small animals Orin killed in the past & frees the patients from having him as their dentist.
I think it’s just pushing itself off the ground a little. It doesn’t seem as mobile as later in the movie, as it still relies on Seymour for food, and moving long distances like that could use a lot of well-needed energy.
Proud to finally add my career in entertainment to the long line of Audrey II puppeteers ^_^ And of course, its opening number is the hardest. I owe many cramps in my left shoulder to it.

Alright, so I noticed when the sing in unison the plant still sounds amazing, while Seymour...not so much.. I overanalyzed it. It's prablobly because Seymour is showing genuine anger and hatred, while the plant doesn't care. Hes just playing off Seymour's emotions the whole time.
It's also because Levi Stubbs was a professional singer and Rick Moranis just isn't. 🤷 I think he's terrific as Seymour, but he's probably the weakest singing voice in the cast.
