Visited SF twice in the late 1980s, when you could sneak in some weed in your underwear, predated airport x-ray machines and sniffing dogs. I found a lone head shop in The Haight and bought a cool pipe, that was smokeless,...I still use it to this day,...I'm 69, and from Ohio. We used to send our friends a hard cover book in the mail, with a couple of joints hidden in the spine. Or a paperback,...with a very flat joint in between the pages. When hashish was everywhere,....in the 1970s,....I took a train out west from Cleveland, Ohio,....with a nice stash of it. Cigarette smoking was allowed, and there were places to sneak off to between the passenger cars, where I shared my hashish. Good times.
Weed is illegal in Texas and Florida. So much for freedom loving states.

Republicans need to stir up fear and anger so their voter base gets riled up and keeps electing them. Weed would only calm down the people and make everyone get along.

Ohio recently legalized recreational WEED,....this year: 2024. Sales began 8/6/ 24-----August, 6th, (Tuesday), 2024. I've been buying it from the (black market), since the 1970s. Friends had connections, in High school (early 1970s), then at my college( mid 1970s), later at my grad. school (late 1970s) (Post graduate & Employment years: All of the 1980s, 1990s,) (Retirement years 2000s to 2024 & beyond).....and now I am 70 years old. If I buy it legally in 2024,.....I will have to pay an additional sales tax to the state of Ohio, or if I want, I can apply for a Medical Marijuana license, pay a one time larger fee and have an exam, and then I can buy weed without having to pay a sales tax. I believe the black market will continue exist, and remain tax free.
