I checked out the Owner's manual and it is the same for the 645, 675 and the 685. However, they have more features, power, etc. What's cool is there are a lot of piano sounds. Warm grand and mellow grand and bright and pop and such. But what's really nice is you get the superb SU7 sound, Yamaha's best upright piano plus you get the classic C7 sound in their studio grand piano option. So you get the CFX, Bosendorfer, C7 and the excellent SU7 upright piano all in the clp635. It's a great value if you don't mind not having wood keys and not the more powerful speakers in the upper models.
Thanks for your presentation, it's very well done. Glad you spent some time with the piano sounds, because those are the primary sounds for the instrument. I love that you show off the dynamics of the instruments. I don't think of the CLP635 as an entry-level since it has VRM (virtual resonance modeling) that includes soundboard and string resonances and other), all the voices of the higher-priced models and really, only lacks the speakers and wooden key and higher action of the others. I guess I think of it as mid-level with the 645 being an upper middle-level. The CLP625 is lacking the VRM and voices, so I think of it as the entry-level 6-series Clavinova.
Hey Benjamin! Playing this piano was a blast!! Seeeee I thought that too about the 635 being mid level BUT Yamaha just released the 685,675, and 665 which makes the 625 and 635 entry level and the 645 and 665 mid level. I haven't had a chance to sit down with the upper levels yet but I'm sure we'll be shooting videos for those later this summer.
Great, look forward to it. I find the 635 a big upgrade from the 625, mostly due to the same amount of voices as the more expensive models and the VRM and same display as those models (where the 625 has the Arius163 like controls). But your point is well taken. Thanks.
When choosing between CLP-635 and the older CLP-545, what would be the best option? The CLP-635 also has bluetooth now, but that's not that important to me. The CLP-545 has the better key action (NWX, Natural Wood X). But which produces the best sound? (most important factor for me) CLP635 has a few upgrades: - VRM (virtual resonance modelling) - CFX Binaural Sampling (CFX Grand Voice only) - (perhaps newer samples? or are those the same?) Are those major upgrades? Or does the (specs wise) better speakers on the CLP-545 (25W+25W, x2) (16cm+8cm, x2) provide better sound than the CLP-635 (30W, x2) (16cm, x2)? The CLP-535 sounded a bit more muddy (mid tones), while the CLP-545 always seem to keep much clarity But what about the CLP-635, compared to the CLP-545?
Hello!!, between the yamaha CLP635, and the KAWAI KDP110, which one would you pick (not considering the looks) ?, I can't really try them because in my country stock is very limited and I can only order them online, and your opinion would be really helpful! Please see my comment :(
Hi, Taavi. Thanks for your interest in Sweetwater Sound as the source for the Yamaha CLP. Both the CLP635 and CLP645 have excellent graded hammer action keybeds, with synthetic ivory and ebony key tops. Both feature an escapement mechanism, creating a response and feel that is very much like that of a grand piano. The CLP635's keybed is the GH3X and the CL645's keybed has the upgraded NWX with the all natural wood keys. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime at Sweetwater Sound to discuss further, or to place your order. Can you tell me what music was being played for the different samples? Specifically the harpsichord. I've been trying to identify that piece for years.
I have a yamah clp340 so a little dated now although a great sounding piano and nice to play,I'm looking to upgrade but wondered what people thought about having al the control buttons on the left hand side as oppose to just in front of you when playing,is it easier or harder to control ?
i see this has an upright piano sample in it, does anyone know from what piano is it ? and is there a demo of it somewhere in youtube, this particular model has all my interest

This was the Ideal piano in mind when I started playing
I could practically see cherry blossoms billowing around the piano at 2:26. Beautifully played!
I bought this model in Rosewood colour last year and I love it.
Hey, I am planning to buy one soon! I wanted to ask that is rosewood colour little bit redish? Or is it dark brown type?
Love this. Beautiful playing too
Great Piano and also great background! ;)

What's the name of the piece you start playing at 1:45, please?
I actually made it up on the spot :-)
Oh! -_- Thanks anyway! Great musical idea!
Thank you for the information
Amazing video! What's the song at 1:45?
I'm curious about this too. Want to learn how to play that.. :)

Clp 635 is better in my opinion.
CLP-635 does not have bluetooth I guess.
Does Yamaha CLP-635 have bluetooth?

Sweet!
Hey i want to start piano lessons and my teacher said i have to buy a piano. I am thinking about getting this one. Is it a good idea?

Anything by Yamaha is a good idea. Anything by Roland, Casio (new era) is a good idea.

Mozart Piano Sonata in C major at 4:40 :), One of my favorites

Dont think theres any difference except for that it looks nicer to have them on the side, cleans up the look a lot
Hi . Why do my recorded audio was MID instead of WAV file?
What’s the price of this piano ?
Can someone please give me all of the names of the pieces being played? Thank you
I actually made them up on the spot

Upright sampled is Yamaha's very expensive SU7 (per the User's manual for CLP635-685)

poor sound is the same as digital pianos dgx or stage pianos
oscar C except that's completely false. The DGX series is sampled from the CFIIIs piano. This series is from the newer and more acclaimed CFX piano.
