- Check out the upgraded version, the Yamaha CLP-785 Clavinova: www.cunninghampiano.com/produ...
Like all of the Clavinova line, the CLP-685 starts with great sound. At the heart of the CLP 685 Clavinova are meticulously sampled Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial pianos along with Yamaha’s GrandTouch Keyboard action, the most advanced Clavinova action Yamaha has ever made. It reproduces the touch, feel and dynamic range of a concert grand better than ever. Linear Graded Hammers that are counter weighted make for the smoothest playing experience by giving each key a unique weight.
In addition to this detailed sampling and physical attributes of the key and its travel, the CLP-685 also has Key counterweights that are used to adjust key balance, allowing delicate pianissimo from anywhere on the key. The GP Response Damper Pedal offers a grand piano-style resistance curve, starting out light and growing heavier as the pedal is depressed to emulate the nuances of delicate pedaling.
I really like your delivery, clear and concise but also enthusiastic. Excellent stuff.
thank you for using the Yamaha product .. it is one of the products that I created CLP-685, and I am glad you played it .. greetings from Indonesia ..
I don't even play piano but wanna buy one anyway because of this guy's presentation :(
MrKcmary
You don’t play piano? Why are you here :)
Boy, being able to ply along with a Katy Perry song must be a transcendent musical experience.
Wow, nicely delivered. I wasn't bored at all, and actually learnt something new. Subscribed :) By the way, the way you speak and your enthusiasm makes me want that piano even more! Not yet though. But one day for sure :) Thanks.
I've watched many of your videos , and I'm probably going to buy the Clavinova 635 ( or 645 if available). I'm not a professional piano player, so I don't want to spend 10,000$ on a YAMAHA U series upright piano, but I'm not also a beginner so I think that these digital YAMAHA pianos are the best choice for me! they don't cost so much (the 645 is around 2050€) and they offer a professional performance. I've tried them in a store in my city ( I live in Italy) and I was stunned by what technology has become and how they sound identical to a CFX or a Bösendorfer!!! Thank you for these informational videos!
I also had the opportunity to try the Yamaha clavinova digital grand piano, maaaan, it was awesome , if I had a bigger house I would have bought that!
Thanks for your review! I bought this one and can't wait for it to be delivered!
You're welcome! Have fun with your CLP-685!!
Did you get it ? How is it ???
God bless you for playing Claire de lune
I bought one of these today... so excited for it to be delivered and to get to play it! In the showroom I tried lots of different pianos, but this one stood out! 🙌🏻
OMG... I WANT THIS!
Great narration
You look like the happiest man on earth 😂
Hahaha! Thank you, Akashdeep! I'm so lucky to work with such amazing colleagues and to be able to play the best pianos on the planet at Cunningham Piano!
CunninghamPiano you're living the dream man. God bless, happy new year!
I bought a CLP-645 over this weekend, but just got a call from a sales rep of my local store, telling me the 645 model isn't getting shipped until May! Now I am thinking to just go ahead and upgrade to this CLP 685, instead. Get the piano sooner, and go for a flagship model, a win-win... :)
An excellent piano
Thanks for the great review. I am in the market for a high end digital piano. I really like the N2 but the CPL-685 gets great reviews too. To me it's all about the action as the sampling in both pianos is really great IMHO. How would you suggest deciding between the 685 and the N2? What are the differences in "feel"? Is there a TRS equivalent in the 685?
Perhaps you should've talked about other good features, for instance, how one can tweak the actual piano audio output using Piano room and more, rather than those other play-around-with options. Since a lot of people have a problem with the bright sounds of the Yamahas, you could've changed the brightness or other parameters. Hope you'll do another in depth video as well. This was really good too. Been watching your channel for a while, you do very amazing demos.
There is only so much time to cover what these amazing instruments can do in each video. We will try to do more in future videos. Thank you for all of your comments!
Super demo than you
I wonder how are the construction of the keys in the Yamahas model. I have seen the kawaii key, which is actually long, but I wonder how the Yamahas is. Does anyone know if the not wooden keys on the black keys makes difference?
Thank you for the review, I am unable to find Notestar in IOS app store, where to get it?
hi, one question!
with the bloutooth paired to an iPad. Can you open a music app, use the Clavinova keyboard as controller and get the vst sounbding through the clavinova speaker? (of course, byu muting the onboard piano sounds, just the vst one through speaker).
Thanks
do you know why longer keys make soft playing easier please? thank you
Are there any videos of Mr. Sung just playing the piano without talking about the piano?
Nope. We all LOVE to talk about pianos! :-)
hi Mr Hugh Sung , guide me. Can UD_WLO1 connect to disclavier E3 or not? And if yes. How? Thank you
Nice video, motivating, as always :) One question about the touch, how close would you find it compared to a an acoustic keyboard, a 60%, 80 % 95% ?
Just to have a subjective idea. I suppose than coming from a CLP-970, the jump will be quite noticeable
Hi Jean-Francois - that's a really subjective question, but for me personally, I'd say it's around 80-90%. It's very, very close!!
Is that type distributed in Asia especially in Indonesia ?
What happened to the CLP 685? Was recently shopping for Clavinova and was told CSP 170 was top of the line ... as far as touch and feel.
Does the keyboard feel better than the avantgrand hybrid piano regarding playing pianissimo or fortissimo?
That's a great question, and really one of personal preference. I'd encourage you to visit us (or any local piano store) to try them out side by side and decide for yourself!
wish i can afford it
Is it english to say "to a whole nother level"?
Anyone know the name of the piece he plays at 1:34?
Thats Clair de Lune by Debussy
this piano is just my dream.
do it have styles?
The CLP-685 has a wide variety of rhythmic drum styles to play along with. Lots more fun than just playing with a metronome!
What a pity, the Chinese version Yamaha CLP 685 deleted bluetooth, can you imaging that?
are the black keys wooden?
yes
No.
only interfaces with iPad.....not with Android. Seems vast majority of DP's avoid Android.....NoteStar will be disappearing in Mar 2019 also,,,,
Actually there is an interface available on Android as well now. Thank you for the comment!
How much the price?
Feel free to contact us at cunninghampiano.com/contact and we can share the price of the CLP-685 with you
Tchaikovsky sound better in YAMAHA Pianos.
I hate tiny screens
