I’m looking to relocate from Tucson next year and Des Moines is thus far top on my list. I am fortunate enough to be able to work 100% remote so I’ve been looking into cities that have a similar cost of living.
I'm biased, but of course I think moving to Des Moines would be a smart move! I've got lots of materials at www.mywrighthouse.com that can help you as you go through the process. Reach out anytime!!
Thanks for sharing, I am planning to move Ames next June!! Live in Ames and try to find something in Des Moines, thats my initial plan. Your video gives me huge inspiration and bold decision to move Iowa ! Thank You.
@@HeatherWright You are right but I do not know anyone at Ankeny who will host me. I know someone he was my ex colleague who agreed to welcome and host me at Ames. I am keeping your suggestion in my my mind and a good job will determine my choice of living. Thanks
Looking to move from Miami, Fl to a new state and Des Moines, IA always seems to make the most sense to me. Hopefully I can contact you when we make the move! Thanks for this video
Heather Wright the only thing that worries me is that not sure how much they pay nurses in iowa comparing it to Florida. I have been searching online but every site gives you something different. However, I hope I can come by soon to see it in person before the decide to move and maybe look at the hospitals around Des Moines.

Hi Heather. First off, Go Hawkeyes!. I used to live in Des Moines about 20 years ago. Yup! Lived here in Florida those 20 years. Retiring next summer and moving back up with my daughter and the grandkids. My son lives in Missouri. Tired of the traffic and congestion. Had enough of the heat and I'm a welder too! Just feel like it's time to go back. Question, there used to be a Mexican resturaunt on Court Ave. Is it still there? Don't remember the name of it. Enjoyed the video.
Hi Jim, I lived in Pinellas county for 11 years - moved back to Iowa in 2007. Traffic and congestion was bad there and every time I'm in rush hour traffic here I'm thankful it's not as bad as FL. I'm not 100% sure on the Mexican restaurant on Court Ave, but next time I'm downtown I'll drive by. Actually, I should do a video on Court Ave!
Low cost of living, less traffic and great food that 3 reasons make me want to live there already. Thank you 🙏 for sharing this.
You're so welcome - and I think you'd love it here!

The cityscape looks amazing. "Live in Des Moines and travel the world" sounds like a nice motto. :)
Thanks Joan, that does sound like a nice motto!
I love to try different foods... nice to visit your city. Thanks for sharing

That's awesome!! Des Moines is a longer commute to Ames. You might want to try Ankeny - it's a suburb between the two cities.
