Absolutely love the German craftsmanship. This bass has an enduring sound and a beautiful design. Just sold my Ignition and have a CT. It’s crazy good! I’m aspiring to a German 500/1 someday. This is why their upwards of $3K.
I bought the contemporary bass and I love it. Like said before it is made in China but with the German pups. A good bass for the money and my first höfner! Listen to the beatles and play along. I will ensure you that you will have a great time. A Proud Höfner owner :-)
I too have just bought a contemporary, I just picked a jazzy drum track & just left myself go with the flow, not only did I find a groove, just an easy bass to play, no wonder Paul McCartney lloves his
Saludos desde México....está sensacional el vídeo y me surgió una pregunta....cuál es la distancia entre el diapasón y el puente? Gracias y de nuevo saludos🤩🤟
The bridge should be located Twice the distance from the nut to the twelfth fret. The bridge height is subjective, as to do you like low string height or high string height when you play? Too low and the strings buzz on the metal frets. Too high and for some it becomes difficult to press down upon the strings to make contact with the frets as you play. I hope this helped even though your question is 2 years old. -Peter
I have and actual 1961hofnor 500/1 I got it so long ago but even then they wanted nine hundred bucks for it the bass to someone who doesn't know much about them seems to look the same as all the other years but there where quite a few little differences like p/u s there where staple p/u s my 67 has blades side by side you can see the difference mine has locking enclosed tuners that are all separate from one another and they lock so it doesn't go out of tune as much the trapeze tail piece was longer on some years than others the controll plates where bigger on some than the other the logo on the tuning head had both a flat gold hofner logo some where raised even the finish could be a little darker than some the 61 cavern bass had the to p/u s right next to each other it was Paul McCartney original then he got the one he used from then on either 62 or 63 depending on who you talk to I learned alot about them on a channel called back beat the guy name is ej and he is and expert on them both dating and repairing if you are into them definitely check out his channel
If you cannot afford one of these German made beauties, you can get the Hofner Contemporary 500/1. It's made in China but at least it has the German pickups. It's not quite the German one but it sure is a step up from the Hofner 500/1 Ignition model and it costs about $879.00 American. I got one of those about a week ago and it really is an amazing bass. It will have to do until I can save up for the real deal.
Good morning. I'm from Brazil and I play the violin and I wonder if you send it to Brazil? What is the price of violin 4/4 and the form of payment? The woods that make the violins are Woods massicas? Thank you and stay with God

Wow. Handmade... I looked at this bass today at Guitar Center and it seems worth every penny.
Big difference between my V62 reissue and CT. This is obviously why. I hope Hofner continues to endure and prosper. Lost art here.

Jeroen Koen is it a hollow body model?
Hey it's not completly hollow...it has a sustain block which gives it more sustain. It's a hofner and it sounds amazing!
I would get the CT but I'm broke lol I'm getting the ignition
One thing that Paul McCartney noticed was how lightweight it was for a bass guitar. I’m not surprised that he picked this one.
Really lightweight!! I just purchased one few weeks ago.
That’s so sweet 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
