Your not kidding about the mic sensitivity knob affecting the harmonies, I was about to send my unit back to Boss the harmonies were so off, then I saw your video and I set my mic knob up 3/4 way like you and suddenly the harmonies are coming out perfect, well not "perfect" but very close to what I expect from a $400 processor. Thank you so much for this important piece of advice.

Hello! I'm about to buy this pedal, but I got a question: is there a way to split the loop in two channels? For example: record both channels, but keep playing just the guitar lines recorded and stop the voices. Also...I heard you can add some effects at the same time, but I wonder: in the voice channel, is it possible to just stop the harmonies without stopping the effect and viceversa? Thanks for the help! I liked the video.
Deb, thanks so much for videos on this Boss VE-8! I can't tell you how frustrating it's been for me to get this pedal to do what I want!! Do you have anything on the Bose L1 Pro 8?
I've been watching all your videos and I am wondering if you have any thoughts on the VE-8's pitch correction functions? I haven't seen you trying out the correct function yet. I'm deciding between this and the newer ve-500. Of course, the ve-500 doesn't have the guitar effects with it. I mainly want to clean up my vocals.
Great video Deb. There isn't a lot of info out on these VE-8's which are rather complicated to work with. One issue i get with mine often is that the modulation effect gets stuck on just one type of effect and i am unable to change it by clicking on the Type button under Chorus control knob. Does anyone else have that issue?
Good evening ma'am, can I kindly ask you a question, regarding my boss ve-8, I accedindally push the memory botton on, and then when I push back off, the voice harmony did not already functioning, there is no voice harmony at all,
Hi Deb, Thanks for all your videos on the VE-8! Can you please clarify how you use the hybrid setting for harmony? You say you generally use hybrid and set the key to C. Do you leave it it set to C, or do you have to change the key to suit the key for each song you play? I imagine it would be a hassle to change the key for every song.
Great video! Hey Deb, I was curious, are you able to adjust the OCTAVE settings on the pedal? For example, can I set the octave lower, so that perhaps I can play the acoustic guitar like a bass?
Dear Deb, thanks for your video. I have an question, no one can answer yet. I hope you can ;-) I have quite a good acoustic chain with a Maton guitar (ap5 pro) and a schertler unico amp. So, I wonder if there is a true bypass on the guitar section, cause I think the guitar section could maybe decrease the quality of my guitar signal. What do you think? Thanks for you time!! Mario
HI there, thanks for your videos, they have been helpfull many times. I am having problems with the Auto switch for the harmonies in the vocal channel. It was working perfectly when all of a sudden it stopped working. If I keep it pressed it's responsive; it says AC and flashes red. If I keep it pressed longer it start flashing faster. BUt otherwise it's off and doesnt allow me to change the different option for the harmonies. The KEY switch, instead, is steady on. Basically it doesnt allow me to switch between hybrid, auto and key. I tried to reset many times, but nothing happened; Any suggestion? Thank you.
Hi Deb, sincerely hope you or anyone in the comments can help. I purchased a VE-8 not too long ago with no issues but recently I’ve found that my harmony ‘key’ button has become stuck on red and cannot be turned off. I like using the auto key more than anything for gigging, and I can’t seem to activate the auto key at all anymore except to access sub parameter settings (flashing red). I have tried a factory reset to no avail a few times. I was wondering if you had any idea how to rectify this as selecting a key for each song really slows down my sets and is not ideal! 😬
At this point I would try to clean your ve-8 with compressed air. Hopefully, you have gotten something in to cause the button to stick. The other option is the switch is bad. If the compressed air doesn’t work I’d call Boss support.
Hello there Deb. I have a concern about the Ve 8. Because I can't select Auto Mode on Harmony. When I Long press the Auto Button it I can't select Hybrid and others. The display is "AC" When I Long press the Auto Button.
Your not long pressing. Long press on most of the VE8 buttons will select another menu so DONT LONG PRESS. You are merely pushing to select one of the three selections.
You do not want to LONG press the Auto button. A Long press on the Auto button gets you into another sub-menu. You are merely pressing it to activate selection. make sure your amps, monitors, speakers, pickups, mics are not aligned in anyway. putting mic slightly left or right may fix this. If the red light isn’t clipping at all, turned all the way up, i would exchange it.

Boss pedals are not super great for their quality of processing for harmonies. You can try playing with your settings on auto pitch, but Digitec and TC electronics are farther ahead as far as consumer grade vocal processing. Remember there are many production quality corners cut from design to mass production. Often Chinese manufacturers install inferior electronic components and will actually remove original design components to the point it still just functions, but more as a toy than professional device. Good luck to you. The better you sing, the better your pitch, and the better your ear... the more you will be disappointed. Most of these are expensive toys coming from manufacturers in China.
