@@ruth_southernstar his unexplained endings frustrate me. The worst was the minister in the black veil.

@@ruth_southernstar I read the book many years ago (the minister in the black veil, and many many others) and swore off Hawthorne for a while because of the ambiguous ending, but I still like his works though. They make you think and wonder about what/why is going on.
