This is great for boys and girls. I’ll have my son listen to ground him in reality. Thank you!

Hello, liked and already subscribed. Great content you provide on your channel! What is considered a "Top Player" as Chris describes? A player ranked in the TDS Top 200? A starter on an ECNL Playoff team? A top 3 player on an ECNL non-playoff team? Top 5 player on a GA National Championship Playoff contender? It's very hard to gauge in the Girls youth soccer world. For the sake of it, we'll see prospect also has a very high GPA.
Figure I try to knock most of the scenerios out in one shot, haha. If any family is in our situation, I am sure they would love to know your thoughts!

Thank you! I think he was alluding to players who are on the youth national team and getting chased down by top 25 D1 schools, so ECNL starters and impact players in top 3 on their club team. However, take this with a grain of salt and shoot Chris a message. His contact info is in the caption.

Always informative and helpful. Quick question, In recruiting women's soccer, where does GPA factor in. Is it 80% skill, 20% GPA? Does it depend on the division you're playing in? If your skill level is at 75% of the top 50 players, but your GPA is 20% better coming out of HS than the top 50 players, does that factor into recruiting? If this makes sense. He mentioned how his GPA hurt some of his playing opportunities.

You need to understand the academic requirements of the schools you want - they have GPA, course rigor, and SAT/ACT standards. A lot of schools it absolutely matters, being both academically good and talented at soccer, especially the Ivy leagues and Baby Ivys and some of the large state schools like UNC, Florida State, etc. Also, smaller high academic schools like Swarthmore and Emory as a few examples. Johns Hopkins, my university, now requires soccer players meet a certain SAT requirement, otherwise they won't be on team EVEN IF THEY'RE A TOP RECRUIT. Just ask the coaches of schools, or include your GPA in the subject line of email. They'll let you know!

@@Fitsoccerqueen Silly question; I am so used to College Football, where it's 95% talent, 2% grades, and 3% were you found guilty. Most female athletes are intelligent as well.
