Okay so yes, cooking the crab alive seems cruel. It is, however due to the anatomy of crabs its pretty much necessary in order to produce a product that is edible. On death a crab's body begins to spread digestive enzymes throughout itself as a final act of defiance against its predator. In order to keep the meat from quickly rotting the crab must be cooked either alive or soon after being killed.

As you can see in the vod, they were drowned and batter to kill them off and not really dead Dead.

No, there are better ways than frying them alive. Leaving them in a freezer for some time before cooking them is a way, extreme cold would make them numb enough. Specially in this case when the amount of crabs isn't that much (speaking in factory volume terms).
I'm a meat lover, but since I was a kid I learnt to respect animals and their suffering to feed us. No one there is starving to the point of having to fry them alive.

What people don't realize, is that MOST crabs are boiled alive in water when cooked, that takes about 4-5 until they die. In the grand scheme of cooking, they are in pain for much less time this way at least.
