I’m so appreciative you go into detail about X-ray stuff, it helps expose so many people to what industries are out there for those still figuring out their careers 💕 it’s so interesting to me and I literally work in accounting 😂
I love learning about other people's careers too! 😊
"expose" so many people. Red flag words to a tech. Bahaha
as a CT tech it’s so nice to see aesthetically pleasing work vlogs from our field
🍪
I’m waiting for acceptance into my radiology tech program and watching your videos makes me so excited to get started!!! 💜
So excited for you! Wishing you luck!
My mom was a radiology tech and became a director of the radiology department at her hospital. We love watching your videos because it reminds her of when she first graduated her program !!
that’s dope she became her departments head! did she need a bachelors for that position?
oh man i'm LOVING all the work vlogs girl!!! i find it so interesting to hear about other parts of healthcare!!! never stop with these!!!
Thank you so much!!! 🥺🤍
Leaving EMS, looking for the next step. This video got me at the first 45 seconds. Can't remember the last time I had a chill morning getting ready for work. Usually the radio goes off, I swear and have a mental breakdown, then I rush out the door.
I’m sorry you’re not enjoying the field you’re in! Radiology is a great field since there are so many opportunities for advancement (CT, MRI, interventional, etc). Wishing you luck and success!
also I love you so much 🥺 I will never get over that you watch my videos always, it’s such a jaw dropping moment for me 😭❤️
YOUR VIDEOS MAKES ME FEEL SO COMFORTABLE AND ITS A RAINING DAY!!! BE BLESSED!!!
Thanks for watching!
I love hearing about your work days, I was actually thinking about starting my own channel documenting my nuc med journey! Super glad to hear about your better IV experience, I don't know that I'd be able to recover from a traumatic experience like that lol
You totally should!
Thank you very much for this. I have found several sonography and radiology techs and it has been very helpful to decide my next career move.
Wishing you luck in your career journey! :)
i inspire to be you in a few years
Sooo
I can’t wait to graduate from X-ray school in may
I’m excited for you!!
i LOVE the work day in the life videos!!!
Aw I’m so glad! 🥰
so proud of you for nailing the IV's hehe also love that we both are still addicted to the fruit pebbles creamer - its seriously THE best
Thank youuuu! 🥰 I’m literally so addicted because of you
Girl, you are so inspiring! Loved this! ✨
I loved watching your scans!!
thanks for watching!
Great work day in the life video and Happy Weekend, Julia!❤️❤️
Have a good weekend!
You're welcome!
I love the idea about the coffee maker . A total money saver for sure and I love iced coffee so that makes sense!! Thank you
I’ve been loving making it this way ☺️ I really should get a big pitcher for it!
I always look forward to your videos! Happy weekend 😍
Have an amazing weekend!
sooo aesthetic
I’d love to see what you prepare for lunch or breakfast ideas! I’m currently in x ray school and some food gets repetitive! Love all your videos especially seeing your beautiful plants✨
I’m really bad, but I don’t really eat breakfast! I tend to eat something small around 10, so I’ll have a quick protein/breakfast bar or banana. I can definitely show some lunch ideas though ☺️
I loved this and the work vlogs!
I’m so glad I found this channel. I’m planning on becoming a Radiologist but I want to be a Rad Tech first. 😍
Awesome! Good luck with your schooling!
@@JuliaKristine if someone would want to do that, do they work as a tech while going to school?
@@morty6737 A Radiologist is a medical doctor, and requires 13+ years of school, so more than likely you wouldn't have the time to work in xray and be in medical school.
I've worked with 20+ Radiologists and not a single one of them worked in xray as a technologist prior to their schooling (which, of course, doesn't mean there aren't people who have done this, it's just not common)
Not worth wasting time to go into a Rad Tech program when you know you want to become a radiologist.
I know a radiologist that’s was a ct tech and now I ct tech that is going into med school, I wouldn’t say uncommon tbh
Hope it all goes well at work Tori. Remember, you are amazing
That’s a nice coffee hack! Buying the large Starbucks iced coffee can be expensive, so definitely gonna try that out.
It definitely adds up! You could also buy a big pitcher to keep it in!
I love your work vlogs
thank you so much!
your channel is awesome!!
Aw you’re sweet!
Oh thanks for reminding me I had to laundry lol
lol
This is my dream job. I’m a senior in HS & I just have no idea where to start or major in
There are a few options!
1) a community college that has a Radiologic Technology program for general x-ray (some have opportunites to learn modalities), then cross train to CT/MRI after graduation *this is what I did!*
2) attend a university with a Radiologic Sciences program (some have opportunities to learn CT/MRI and some don't. If they don't have this option, you would cross train after graduation)
3) attend an MRI school, then cross-train to CT after!
That’s an old CT!
Haha yes it was! we got a new one a month later
This was so interesting, thanks for sharing
thanks for watching!
Love your videos 😍
aw thank you so much!
Girl Your hair!😍😍
aw you're so sweet!
LOVE
What made you want to do X-ray instead of sonography? I’m applying to both programs in May and wanted your advice/input on each. Also how are you able to do IV draws? That’s so interesting for an X-ray tech!!!
There was only one sonography program around me and it was super competitive to be accepted into. I just wasn’t as interested in sonography too ☺️ there is an online sonography program through Burwin that you can complete after getting registered in radiography!
I’m a CT technologist, so that’s why I start IVs!
How does the fruity pebbles creamer taste? Always wanted to taste it but didn’t want to waste an entire bottle in case it was nasty.
It was my favorite creamer ever! I’ve never been able to find it again since this video in 2021 😭
Love it 💘
Do you have to go back to school to train into CT, MRI? I’m about to go to school for X-Ray tech and also want to venture out into those later on.
Nope! There are MRI programs in the US, but there weren’t any near me. I just did on-the-job training :)
Thank you
What’s your hair routine? & it’s always snowing or raining when i watch your videos lolll💘
I'll show it in my next vlog that's going live today @ 10AM CST 😊 hahah love the indecisive spring weather!
Girl how do you make your coffee? I’m sick of going through drive throughs every day and I’m intrigued the last couple vids on how you make yours
Around 8:13 I showed the coffee pot I use! I'll link it for you! I bought mine at Costco.
I do 7 heaping scoops (I use the black scoop that came with my coffee pot) with 14 cups of water, press the bold button, and brew! 😊
I love your vlog so much 🥰 and you remember me JJ from criminal minds hahaha 💟
Aw thank you! I’ve never seen that show!
Cute video. I am trying to figure out if I should train in CT or MRI. Which one do you like better?
I enjoy MRI the most!
That was really fun watching you brush your teeth😮
That was really fun reading your sarcastic comment!
MRI tech here. Good luck!
Thank you!
i need a monstera albo update soon!!!
yes!!! I will soon 😊 I’m planning to check the root growth possibly this weekend and decide when it’s ready to pot into soil!
How did you like shadowing the ultrasound? I start ultrasound school in 2 months!!
That's so exciting! Congratulations! Ultrasound isn't my modality of choice, but it was still fun to shadow in! My mom is a sonographer and she loves it!
I love this, but did you... just wash your detergent cap...?
yes, it’s recommended on the back of the bottle! hahah it tells you to do that so you don’t get build-up in the cap
This is off topic, but I saw that you had your nails done. Do certain facilities allow nail polish where you're located? the hospitals I'm at for college say that I can't have any, and if I do it has to be clear polish.
Every facility has different rules
Did you have to go to school to get the separate MRI/CT licenses or did you just get trained?
I had to get a degree in radiologic technology first and then I did on-the-job training for CT and MRI. There are MRI programs out there, too!
I’m really interested in this field I just graduated high school and i’m completely lost on how to start would you mind telling me how i can start to become an X-Ray tech
www.jrcert.org/find-a-program/
I’d recommend searching for a JRCERT accredited rad tech program!
Hi! Im interested in this field i was wondering if you can work as a rad tech/mri/ or ct tech internationally?
Love your vids, watching since I was a first year and now I’m about to graduate ☺️❤️ do you have any advice for someone who’s about to have an interview for CT + MRI? I’m super nervous but this is something my heart really wants so praying for the best 🙏🏼 I’d appreciate any advice you’d have on interviewing for these modalities ☺️
Hii! That is so exciting - congratulations!
Before any interview, I always search common interview questions and practice preparing answers so I'm not as nervous! You've got this :)
Why did you throw the laundry measuring cup in with the laundry?
Yes the back of the Tide bottle says to do so
Hello, I would like to know what is it hard an x-ray school because I’m about to get into it. I’ve been in college for three years and I want to know if it’s actually hard or is adorable what is the challenges that will be facing if that’s OK to ask you and to see what I’m up to
Damn u actually get a lunch? lol they must love you
i just turned 18 and my local mercy hospital is doing a job for a ct assistant, i’ll be able to apply as soon as i graduate high school, do you think I should or is it a good job in general?
that sounds like a great job if you're interested in the field!
this is random but when do you find time to charge your apple watch?
I put it on the charger before I go to bed every night! I never sleep with it on
@@JuliaKristine I thought so, I just know some people sleep with it on and I've never really done that.
@@simplyboppingK I've tried it once, but I took it off in my sleep 😂
Hy mam, I completed my Bsc degree MRIT from India . Now I moving to USA . I want to ask Is that degree acceptable in usa to get a job ..
I’m very interested in applying to a rad tech program near me, I wanted to know if you worked with needled before you went into CT?
yes we went over phlebotomy in my rad tech program and then I also did phlebotomy when I worked in my first xray job!
Plz rply. I did diploma in medical radiology and imaging technology from India now I wanna move canda on spouse visa what job i get in canda nd how much they paid can i get job there without taking any course or exam or We have to give exam plz tell
Where do you get the copper moon coffee!
Home Goods or TJ Maxx!
Do you have to get certified in ct and mri, or can you just do on the job training? Sorry if you’ve answered this before I’m new to your channel 😃
It depends on the state and if you work in a hospital or private clinic, but I always recommend getting registered. I’m doing on-the-job training and then will take my ARRT registry once I meet the didactic credit requirements and content specification credentials!
can you just train to get into CT/MRI? or do you have to go to school? i’m curious because i’m looking into doing the same thing!
Yes, but you have to follow the ARRT post-primary pathway guidelines www.arrt.org/pages/earn-arrt-credentials/initial-requirements/postprimary-requirement
CT is only a post-primary pathway, while MRI can be a primary or a post-primary pathway. Radiography is my primary pathway
Please, advice. I want to do this and also help for CT scans and MRI. Would I just do my prerequisites and then my x-ray thing before CT and MRI? Why do you do what you do? Is it fun moving the machines? Do you have some time off? A predictable schedule? What about your friends?
Sorry for many questions. Do you think I could interview you somehow ? I'm 17 and so interested but I apologize if I breach border
Each program is very different, so I only know from my own experience - I took all of my program's pre-requisites at the community college, applied, and got accepted. The general rad tech program I attended was 21 months straight, and I graduated with an AAS in Radiologic Technology. I then took my ARRT boards shortly after graduation and worked as an x-ray tech at a clinic for a year, and then got a job position where I'm now cross-training into CT/MRI. I'm utilizing the ASRT CT and MRI Basics learning modules to learn the didactic side. After I get all of my required exams documented for CT and MRI, I'll take the two separate ARRT boards exams to become registered in both modalities.
Keep in mind, there are multiple pathways you can take to get to the same outcome of working in CT and MRI. CT is considered a post-primary pathway, so you need to be registered in a primary pathway to train (my primary is Radiography). MRI is both a primary and post-primary, so if you wanted to search for an MRI program, that would be an option for you. The ARRT's website has a lot of information about this.
@@JuliaKristine how do you document the exams? Is it on their site?
@@gr4237 I document them at the end of the day I complete them on the ARRT website!
Do you know of a online program where I can get certified into MRI?
4:27 did u drop the soap cup in there on purpose??
Yep! I do it so the cap stays clean and doesn’t build up with detergent. If you read the back of the large tide bottles, it says “To clean out cap, toss it in the wash with your load.”
As an MRI tech are you able to wear scrubs with a metal zipper?
Yes
Hi! Do you ever deal with vomit? I am thinking of becoming a rad tech but I struggle with vomit (nothing else really bothers me) so I’m just curious. Thank you!
Unfortunately yes!
@@JuliaKristineHi Julia! Just out of curiosity, how do you deal with vomit and other bodily fluids when the situation arises?
@@maybematlin It doesn’t bother me! 😬 the only thing that bothers me is phlegm and I just power through and get the job done
Hey Julia
On a scale 1-10 , how happy are you right now? Weird question I know haha.
Does being a X-ray tech have to be worry about being exposed to radiation ? I heard that it causes cancer, infertility, and etc.
Following this question
What kind of nails do you get done?
Gel on my natural nails
do you have to deal with needles in both MRI and CT, or just MRI?
love your videos by the way- so informative and helpful! there's not much on youtube about this field.
Both MRI and CT! Thank you so much!
Mam in which city do you live ?
Can you go aroud your department? I am also X ray technician, from Vietnam
Hi julia!
What state do you live in
People will be kicking themselves in few weeks if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in bitcoin.
he has really made a good name for himself
@@norarose972 he's obviously the best invested 2000USD with him and 9 I made a profit of 9101USD
He,s stories are everywhere 😱
I tried trading on my own but it only left chasing shadows
@Cheryl Westwood Trading without a professional like Expert William Ava is like gambling with your money
Can a Radiologic Technologist only pick one modality or is it required in hospitals to operate different kinds of modalities?
Depends where you work. Small hospitals sometimes require their xray techs to cross train
Hi my from is india and my degree here it will be valid in usa ?plz ans me mem
No - you have to be ARRT registered in the US in order to work/practice
I don’t think that was enough creamer
I don’t think I could sense your sarcasm enough. Good thing you’re not drinking it?
Hold on, X-ray techs deal with IV's?????? Man, I just wanna work in a hospital without handling needles
She handles IV because she is cross training mri and CT. They handle IV’s the most.
Rad Techs are required to learn venipuncture. It’s a requirement for the ARRT boards exam
I’m probably the only guy in the comment section. Lol shit I was gonna say you look like you got a good lifestyle and a nice apartment as a rad tech + CT, MRI. Would you say a clinic pays more than a hospital for somebody starting off.
Pay at a clinic vs. hospital is super similar, but it will also depends what state you live in. Overnight hospital shifts tend to make more. CT and MRI pay is higher than general xray
Am I crazy or did you just put the plastic cup in the washer too?😂
yes!!! hahah I saw the hack on tiktok and then read it on the back of the bottle/the top of the cap!
@@JuliaKristine omg whatt I didn’t know you could do that!
@@JuliaKristine also love your channel I’m 17 thinking about being an xray tech not sure yet though 😅
Is this hard???
I don't think so, but that's kind of subjective to each person's experience
Do you work in a clinic ?
Yes! It’s a private/independent imaging facility
What does your tattoo mean ?
Which one haha
@@JuliaKristine the X on your wrist. But I guess any of them!
@@kab2591 in a short story, the X represents a friend who passed away
@@JuliaKristine thank you for sharing ❤️
Are you still doing phlebotomy?
Nope! I don't work at that clinic anymore. My new facility is solely an imaging clinic, so I do start IVs.
This is kind of random but when do u find time to be with your bf. On weekends? Just wondering because he's rarely in your vlogs haha.
I don’t share him in videos because I prefer to keep my relationship private 😊 A lot of people do this! He’s actually shown in this video haha
Hello. This is embarrassing. Have you seen men wearing pantyhose for mri? Once I get them off I need help putting on. Which I don't want to happen. Tyvm
You’re allowed to have fake nails?
Acrylics are fake nails. I’m wearing gel which is allowed. Also, those policies entirely depend where you work.
Is it hard to be pregnant with being a X-ray tech?
I'd imagine any job would be strenuous during pregnancy, but I've never been pregnant to say haha. Hopefully someone who has experienced this can better answer your question!
How many boyfriends have you had?
I miss working as a Rad Tech. I’m still working for my licensure here in Canada 🥲
Ah! Wishing you luck with the rest of that process!
