Thanks for the video. I think your suggestions will apply to most if not all Carrera 132 scale cars, especially the bit about inconsistent motors. I have a new D132 C8.R and it is VERY slow. What predator motor is shown in the video? Was the pinion gear from the Carrera motor? If so did you encounter any issues transferring it? No breakages or splitting? I know the stock Carrera motor shafts are splined, does the pinion slip at all? Sorry for the question, but thanks in advance.
Yes, you can only race Carrera against Carrera because they are all heavy and slow. They look nice though and if you want to race them just against each other they are fine. But, unlike the rest they just can’t be modified to run with other makers. I’ve even went as far as to put 46,000 NSR evo shark motors in them and they still just don’t cut it performance-wise.
I see 3 possible conclusions from your assessment. A) Carreras delivered to the US go through much stricter quality control than on home turf, B) you were lucky to strike gold with your group‘s set of cars or C) car performance is irrelevant in your style of racing / in your group. I took part in multiple series of races, mostly using identical cars with different liveries, but also just the same class of car. Out of the box a field of about 8 cars was 1.5 seconds a lap apart on a sub 7 second track. That’s not competitive at all, imo. I‘m happy for you, that you have no worries with racing these cars. I‘m going to continue enjoying your videos while racing Revoslot cars on my track. They arrive within a tenth of a second per lap, no matter what car you take out of the box , nothing but driver skill and focus decide about victory =)
For 39 dollars what's the problem. Cars better be closer at $85 to $90 dollars. So throwing in a predator motor in and tires is worth it. At our club we set the limit for carrera at 21.5k motors. Carrera cars are cheap to do what you like to them. They run very good when tuned properly. Yes they are toys. Not competition cars like Revos. And remeber keep it on the slot. Shiny side up!! 😁
@@gerardocampos7138 1 question. Does the stock carrera chip work ok with an 18K or 21K motor? Such as the Predator? My track at home is a tighter track due to limitations of space....but a carrera motor is awful slow even there compared to a Slot it................although both Slot it cars I got broke right away and needed parts bought and work done......they dont like banking...the lead wires break....they scrape the track where ever possible..........but they are really fast and fly off track barely touching the throttle.....on corners .
Yes the stock carrera chip does work with higher rpm motors. Because the voltage is Still the same. Remeber have fun tuning them. I do what Jim does on his videos they run so much better.
Hello my friend , I like too see a Race of a Maga G+ on a 1/32 scale Track Modified too work on 1/32 Scale Track too race a 1/32 car and will will win the race ( note the Maga G+ hold down more too win )
Thanks for sharing bro, nice slot car race
Totally agree about your opinion about Carrera cars and running them with other Carrera cars. Fun and competitive
As long as cars are comparable no reason they wouldnt make up a good racing class....a motor is cheap as are tires.
Thanks I have purchased two pf these Corvettes, I cannot wait to give them a spin. What size tires did you use?

It was the 18k motor and yes I used the original stock pinion
What size body screws do you recommend as a replacement? There ae a number of different width and lengths from Slotting
Can't wait for the Scaley version to come out (next month?)!

the motors are changed to being the cars closer to a race spec,as noted in video. Stock motors are inconsistent.
