  • Have you ever been denied a tourist or student visa at your visa interview? Chances are good that you failed to convince the visa officer that you met the requirements under 214(b). Chances are also pretty good that you weren't given much insight into what those requirements actually are. Former Visa Officer and U.S. immigration attorney Travis Feuerbacher explains 214(b) in plain English and offers some basic tips for your next visa interview.
    Set up a consultation with one of our ex-Visa Officers today at zfvisa.com!

    VISA officer didn't asked for the home ties as I was going to attend a training session with me client as it was a B1 visa and trip was sponsored but still he didn't ask me regarding the same and refused under 214 (B)

    During a visa interview, the officer's decision may not always align with factual information presented. Sometimes, even if you are correct, they may perceive you as incorrect and deny your visa. Conversely, if you make a mistake, they might still grant you the visa. To overcome the possibility of visa denial and increase your chances of success, it's essential to prepare thoroughly, present your case clearly, and demonstrate your eligibility convincingly during the interview.

    Thank you got the valuable insight. Is there a
    quota on how many b1 b2 visas a person can have in his history,? I heard of people getting their application denied at interview with a good travel history and 4 to 5 B2B1 visas prior.

    • @ZFvisa
      @ZFvisa  3 місяці тому

      Absolutely not! In fact, prior travel - especially to the United States - is a fantastic way to prove to a visa officer that will will comply with a new visa if issued. Even travel to other countries can help establish a pattern of “good” travel behavior. This should not be a reason to deny a B1/B2 visa. Good luck!

      In Colombia they denied my (now) wife five times. Most of that time she was a university student. The sixth time they gave it to her (B1). She was so used to being denied, she was standing there and the interviewer had to tell her "go away, you're approved!"

    How can my wife overcome 214b for a TD visa denial? The TD visa is specifically designed to allow dependents of TN visa holders to accompany or join them in the United States. The application of Section 214(b) in this context is incongruous with the visa's purpose, which inherently presumes a derivative right of entry for dependents.

Also want to explore some places for travel at the same time. I have done this for China and Russia as well. And this is exactly I am planning explore USA if I get the visa. There are no quotas (either for approval or rejection), except for certain immigrant visas which are subject to maximum caps each year. While embassies and consulates will vary by their approval/rejection rates, we do not recommend deciding where to apply based upon experiences of other applicants, as they may have circumstances and other factors that are very different from your own.

    After watching UA-cam, I'm feeling overwhelmed by the explanation of 214B for the first time. So, if I understand correctly, you're suggesting that we should thoroughly explain these aspects on our DS-160 form, especially for those who have been previously denied? It's like trying to convey our truth and clarify our intention not to overstay. Many applicants mistakenly focus on their sponsor instead of addressing the crucial point of convincing the presumption of not intending to stay permanently. It's quite a revelation, as many of us may have misunderstood this part, given that the reasons for denial aren't always clear. Overcoming this presumption requires a comprehensive summary on our DS-160 form. How does the visa officer manage to review everything? Does our application undergo processing before the interview day? I'll be studying this diligently day and night until I secure my visa. Having been denied three times, I now understand the reasons behind it. Your explanation deserves recognition! I AM CRYING 😢tears of joy 🤩

      @@ZFvisaI get that you want people to opt for your service and solve people's problems on a case to case basis but at the same time, it would really be helpful if you are able to include some helpful tips or general reasons in your response to these comments. As it stands right now, I do not know if the reason for the rejection of this commenter is something minor which if kept in the reply, would be useful to a lot of people, or something unique for this commenter that requires them to opt for your service.

      Visa Officers have wide discretion to deny visa applications under 214(b) - that's why preparing for your interview is so crucial. Schedule a consultation with us at zfvisa.com, and we'll help you put your best foot forward!

    can you buy a ticket to usa without visa to prove that you are going to return to India?

    • @ZFvisa
      @ZFvisa  Місяць тому

      You can, but we generally don't advise this. If you're not approved, you may lose the deposit or whole price of the tickets. Discussing your plans is just as useful as showing pre-purchased tickets.

    A very ridiculous and meaningless paragraph. Everything is in the hands of the officer and they reject it for no reason. It's like a green card lottery and it's very lucky. On the one hand, they are looking for cultured and helpful people, and on the other hand, because they didn't sleep well at night, they will reject you in less than a few seconds. In my opinion, this decision-making method should be corrected.

      hi in regard to the "ties to home country"
      my question is what if you are employed in another country where you currently reside other than the individual's home country??

    • @ZFvisa
      @ZFvisa  2 місяці тому

      Good question! Showing ties outside of the US is most important; not just that you have ties to your specific home country.

    All the applications are decided before the interview. Any ex visa officer giving you lectures is only lying.

      Thanks for your comment! It’s precisely this type of misinformation we are trying to correct. Application decisions are absolutely NOT made before the interview, and it’s important to prepare, answer all questions truthfully to improve your chance of success.
