Doctor Who review of Season 1 Episode 7, Ncuti Gatwa is back again to cry and work out absolutely nothing. Russel T Davies has worked for the BBC and Disney to seemingly humiliate the Doctor over the entire series. With everyone attacking him, shaming him and generally being more useful, what is even the point of Ncuti now? The finale description implies he doesn't even save the world there. While unit used to have some cool episodes, this wasn't one of them, didn't answer anything and well full fool on the cast. Why are any of these people employed? Who knows. But they have a LOT of questions to answer in the finale if they want to wrap up all the threads they may not have deliberately created this season. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
Come on, only one more episode to go!
What are we up to? 100 crying scenes? lol
Mentioning Batwoman might give Az PTSD! He was exposed to dangerous levels of it. 🤣
The emasculation of black men is a well worn trope by now. I wonder why they do it?
Like Doctor Strange, Dr Who has become a guest character in his own show
I'm waiting for the gay Community to turn on RTD. He had the opportunity to present a gay actor playing a strong, heroic role. Instead, he made Gatwa's Doctor into the worst stereotype - Weak, indecisive and obsessed with sex. This season has set back the image of gay men decades. Now the question is, for what reason?
If we're talking about the progressive gays, I don't think they care
Because they know its possible to build it up again and wants to be lauded as the ones who do it this time
Everything is pro WOMAN. Gay men are still men. Plus they prefer a gay and likely weaker more timid man to masculine men because they are easier to control and have as subordinates.
That is a perfect description of RTD. These people can be read like an open book.
We have learned pretty much everything about him in this show.
I've been wondering that myself. What's the endgame?
As an archaeologist, let me tell you....
That guy looks nothing like a man who's been dead for a hundred years.
Looks like someone built a sand version of this man and just put the original in back or something 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
My Grandma always used to say to me "I don't care what they tell you in school, people who are dead for 100 years get covered in sand".
No indeed, he looks like one of those cool sand sculptures artists make on the beach.
As someone who sees dead people in various stages of decomposition, I agree 100% lol
The doctor was never this painfully passive. He was the problem solver. This Dr basically sits around and watches the plot happen. Then cries about it. The doctor is also supposed to be a little dangerous, a little scary, because he is the smartest and most powerful being in the room.
Here he is the weeping one in the room, that only cares about being besties and what his libido says.
I think the Tennant episode where he split off was maybe a reference to the movie "Twins".
All of the bad traits went into Gatwa like the Danny DeVito character.
@@jimjam51075That’s kinda been my theory for awhile now actually. That Ncuti’s Doctor is only half of the Doctor. Half a Time Lord. Half of the power and intelligence of a normal Time Lord.
I admit that I didn’t think about him being all that worst traits and weaknesses of the Doctor.
@@mikoto7693 So he's basically the "good but ultimately useless Captain Kirk" from the transporter accident....
Ncuti is the Female doctor. Overflowing with estrogen and empathy.
Can't wait till we see the Male Doctor. After he's done genociding aliens.
In the past the companion has been there as a fail-Safe. When the doctor goes too far the companion rains him in. Now he's a giant pussycat! Who hides underneath the table and hisses.
Remember when UNIT was an actual legitimate militady organisation that was competent and not BBCs SHIELD?
It reminds me of the Laundry
I am sure it cant have slipped anyones noticed that the Unit building is almost a 1 to 1 rip off of Stark Tower. Gotta recycle those Disney CGI assets and save some money I guess.
What colour do you all think the sky beam will be in next weeks "climax"?
Brown and veiny?
@@misterbrick4530 I really wish someone (not Disney) would make a show about the adventures of Bob Howard and the Laundry.
Indeed. Classic UNIT had the Brigadeer, Sgt Benton and Captain Yates. Those were the days.
Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart is rolling in his grave.
Ecclestein would kick a door down, grab a villian by his throat and head butt the fiend into oblivion. Gatwa sits in the corner and cries while the women deal with the problem, and somehow they seem perplexed as to why they’ve lost 80% of their audience.
The one time Eccelston attempted to kill a Dalek with a gun, he got talked down by Rose. They said it was wrong then. On top of that, Eccelston in his last episode decides to not kill the Daleks and instead Rose does it using the power of the time vortex. I don't think we watched the same show.
It's a bunch of women (plus a guy playing dressup) being boss bitches, whilst the male lead has been turned homosexual and unlikable, and any male characters you might like are just fodder to be killed anyway.
It's predictable to a t.
@@ethanpond1195 Rose was a goddamn Mary-Sue type of character, insufferable. _Everything_ revolved around her, for no logical reason, simply because she was so extra-special that even the Tennant Doctor fell in love with her. There were other companion for a while, but then Rose came back, and oh boy, the writers had to create a surplus 10th doctor from his cut-off hand just so she could be with him.
@@ethanpond1195i don't think you remember quite well why 9th doctor was "reluctant" to kill all Daleks. Let me remind you. If he did it, the delta wave would also kill the remaining life on Earth. He'd rather sacrifice himself than have another collateral blood of innocents on his hand. Had it not been for others He was more than happy to wipe them all out along with himself and the Emperor.
Coming storm... Yawn. Girl who is the key to everything... Yawn. Girl Power... Yawn. Absolute drivel 😂
I will never forget how, as of The timeless child, the Doctor has infinite regeneration. He has infinite healing powers and death rays on command. He is immortal. Every alien he doesn’t kill immediately, every injury he doesn’t heal, every risk he doesn’t take on other people’s behalf, he is being lazy.
Good point. He has infinite healing power and regenerations. Why have that puny human security officer take the risk instead?
@@mikoto7693 No, it's too scary for the poor, immortal Doctor. See, he's crying for the twentieth time today

So the real Doctor Who (David Tennant) is drinking tea somewhere in Camden and can't be bothered to deal with Sutekh.
I’m pretty sure it’s a soy latte.
Probably said “f**k this shit I’m out” when he was given the riot act after being “educated” on pronoun usage
Honestly I wondered about that during the episode where his lesser half disappeared to a faerie circle. The TARDIS Is alive and sentient isn’t it? If half the Doctor vanished it shouldn’t have “died” when he did.
It could have let Ruby inside and taken her to the last remaining half of the Doctor.
@@mikoto7693 Yes, that was one of my things about that ep, them apparently forgetting Tennant was around. He should have even been in the same city Ruby was for much of the time.
Good riddance to Tennant
I love how this story just acts like the actual doctor (David Tennant) doesn't exist or just doesn't care now in his "retirement" that the world is going to shit
This is the problem with having a Doctor in Retirement. How the hell does a guy like that just retire?
Like... I imagine that even the human Doctor in the other parallel universe is still actually doing stuff... not just retired.
@@Unethical.FandubsGames I mean if they ever go back to "The Doctor's Daughter" The Doctor can be in retirement and be like on call to give his daughter advice.
We know from the stinger that she can regenerate though it's unknown if she has her own TARDIS.
@@Unethical.FandubsGamesremember 11 during the loss of the ponds
@@Unethical.FandubsGames You'd think he'd at least team up again this one last time, especially since Sutekh is back and the 15th is just way too utterly inept and overemotional to handle an actual threat. What makes the whole retirement aspect even dumber is the whole second TARDIS thing. You wanna tell me you give the Doctor a TARDIS and he just lets it sit as a lawn decoration and never goes on adventures with it?
yea I have a theory that 15 is the Boss, I think its going to end up being some bs like Ncuti got all the "good guy" traits whilst 15 got all the "toxic" traits (like the ability to not hesitate to let a companion die for the sake of the planet/universe). Im thinking this because in ep. 6 Rogue didn't just stop with the sending the doctor to another dimension because he saw all of the faces of the previous doctors, he stopped/paused when he saw 15s face and briefly acted like he recognised him.
I can't cross my own timeline. Then spends 99% of the time in the same location multiplying his chances of not only crossing his own timeline but running into another version of himself.
BTW, The Doctor doesn't "bring" disaster. Disaster is already there which is why The Doctor showed up there.
00⁰0⁰@@mark7s980
@@mark7s980 RTD is using a metaphorical insert of himself as the one who brought disaster to Dr Who and finished it off.
Two cups of ignorance of temporal physics. ⏱😏
We will ignore all of those cross-over episodes.
The Two Doctors, The Five Doctors, Death of the Fourth Doctor,
The Vanyard (sp), etc.
I think some of the writers are getting Doctor Who mixed up
with Back To The Future.😁😁
In the final episode Rubys makes it snow again & the doctor turns into an actual snowflake & flies away.
Oh god, maybe he would try getting snowmanned again, or maybe some snowballing 🤢
"That's beautiful man."

'Clerks'
😂😂😂
With how often he cries he'd probably melt rather than be strong enough to fly away
Another likely scenario for the finale is The Doctor has a cry but this time he crys so much that his tears flood an entire city and everyone drowns.
With how much of an emotional wuss Fruity Gateway's Doctor is I think it would be very believable.
Rose is 15 and Morris is 13. Why is UNIT exploiting child labor?
Rose looks like she 'identifies' as a fifteen year old....
@@jeremyallen5974Yep, adult man wears short skirt & the BBC tell children that he’s a teenage girl.
That's illegal. You can't employ children in the military.
From "Never cruel or cowardly," to can't help but always being cruel and cowardly, and crying about it.
Proof he isnt the Doctor. Jodie's Doctor also got people killed too willingly.
To be fair, Peter Capaldi broke the "Never cruel or cowardly" promise multiple times in his first season. Particularly the cruel part because he turned the Doctor into an outright sociopath. But at least he wasn't a cry-baby while he was doing it.
@@tomnorton4277 That was part of his arc though. It was a new regeneration cycle so he didnt know who he was. He learned who he was to the point where he didnt want to let go and then he finally did and the show ended.
@@RAP7ORv The Doctor already had 12 lifetimes to figure out who he was. Peter Capaldi tended to come across as an immature Human with the mindset of a teenager instead of a powerful Time Lord with 3000 years under his belt. I didn't believe this Doctor was any older than Capaldi was in real life until he was snarling at Ashildr in Face The Raven.
"The Doctor is no longer here. You're stuck with me!"
That scene was the first time Peter Capaldi felt like he'd actually lived for 3000 years. Granted, I half expected him to murder Clara himself - he gave off the same vibes as Commodus killing his father in Gladiator - but he finally felt like the ancient alien that he was supposed to be. His threat also brings me to my next point.
Peter Capaldi should have been the Valeyard.
He had the cruelty, narcissism, pretentiousness and sociopathy of the original Valeyard and on top of that, the beginning of a new regeneration cycle was the perfect time to bring him back. The Valeyard should have been in the regeneration energy that the Time Lords gave to Matt Smith on Trenzalore. After achieving the goal he had in the Classic Series, the Valeyard would have had no idea what to do with himself, especially since he was technically a separate entity in Classic Who, so he didn't directly have the previous' Doctor's life experience. However, if they were fused together, Capaldi's mix of sociopathic narcissism and childish insecurity would have made sense.
The problem is that neither Steven Moffat nor Peter Capaldi mentioned the Valeyard until Twice Upon A Time. They clearly thought they were just portraying another Doctor. The Valeyard was in the story but it was completely by accident.
Somebody needs to retcon Peter Capaldi into officially being the Valeyard's 2nd incarnation on a redemption arc. They wouldn't even need to change anything about the era itself. Just have a future Doctor explain that the Valeyard very nearly turned "Eyebrows" into a monster but Clara and Missy set him straight.
Lets compare UNIT from the 1970s series: British Military officers and men, army uniforms, firearms, RPGs, Military vehicles, strict chain of command. A Doctor Who that does Venusian Karate. Serious business.
And UNIT 2024: All authority roles are civilian women, no white men in any speaking role, staff include a woman in a wheelchair, A Robot DJ, a mixed raced transgender teenage school leaver, a ten year old boy on a Segway. A Doctor Who that cries for no reason. Serious Scooby Gang
Heck, look at the Unit of Battlefield. Brig Bambera being confident and skilled, multinational force holding their own against the alien armies, and Kate's dad taking out a destroyer of worlds all by himself
That's because UNIT was meant to be a UN paramilitary organisation that could act outside conventional political boundaries in the face of global threats and was proposed after certain key events in Doctor Who lore. RTD's take on UNIT is half-arsed because it conflicts with his ideal special forces team, Torchwood.
Don't insult the Scooby Gang like that.

Pyramids of Mars was one of my favorite episodes as a kid. Now they're going to bastardize another good one-off villain from the original show. Who's next, the Black Guardian? No no, his name is problematic...
RTD would though. He hates Ncuti without doubt after witnessing the repetitive humiliation rituals... nah, prob just cuz Ncuti wasn't born in Britain
The Fendahl is next, mark my words. They seem to delight in bringing back that which they should not be able to for reasons that they were utterly destroyed.
To think, we were all so annoyed with how much they humiliated David Tennant but it turns out it wasn't targeted at him specifically it was just how they treat all version of The Doctor. Once again they prove that the bar can always get lower, sinking this non-Doctor to new levels of humiliation.
I think it was for all of them like you said, but they specifically wanted to melee tenant because he was many people's favorite
yeah, but then D. Tennant humiliated himself as a person. Until then I though he was good man.
I’ve never really watched Doctor Who before but the difference between the clips you play of past doctors and the current one is incredible. They do make me want to try watching the older stuff, though.
hey... they are really amazing (except when they are not)
The funny thing is how the imperatives of "Progressive" ideology make these shows inadvertently appear bigoted.
In Doctor Who, the imperatives are: 1) show men as being softer, prone to self-doubt, and emotional. 2) make the women appear strong and competent. 3) give the leading male role to a g@y man.
The inadvertent outcome is to make g@y men look like ineffectual, useless crybabies. That's not what they meant to do, but it was inevitable given the imperatives they had to follow.
Another example is Star Wars: the Acolyte. They needed to show an all-female society. It had to involve dramatic emotions (hence internal conflict), and it had to be destroyed to provide a tragic backstory.
The end result was a depiction of female society as cringe, riddled with dissension and inequity, and ultimately an abject failure.
Witcher: Blood Origins. They had to make the elves central to the show, but they still had to include themes of colonization, greed, and oppression. The result was depicting the elvish victims of human evil, as oppressors themselves; thus, victims today are just yesterday's oppressors, and nobody is actually worthy and good. Every culture is a cesspool at heart.
They can't help it. Better writing would help make it less obvious, but in the end the imperatives "intersect" to make some protected-group look horrible.
You may be interested to note that the comment failed to publish five times, until I changed the spelling to "g@y".
I noticed that trend too. They are trying so hard to be “inclusive” that they forget entirely that 99% of the population is straight and able bodied. And so by making every character some kind of “inclusive” they end up being bigoted and racist themselves. They exclude the ordinary straight able bodied people.
Same thing with race and sex. In their rush to “include” different races they exclude white people. Or more specifically white men. And unfortunately for Dr Who, the majority of its fan base is white and male. So by being racist and sexist towards straight white men, Dr Who is attacking and excluding the biggest part of its audience.
A particular quirk that really annoys me in particular is when Dr Who or another tv show takes a historical character that we know was white and cast that character as black or another race. I really dislike it when they do that. And the historical figure doesn’t even need to be white. I hated that “documentary” that cast Cleopatra as a black woman when there is plenty of historical evidence showing that she had a more Mediterranean heritage.
I don’t get why modern tv shows have to be like this. I’m not against inclusion and diversity, but it has to be done right. Find the correct balance appropriate to the setting. Don’t go too far and end up being racist or sexist themselves.
Game of Thrones got a few things right at least. Westeros and the rest of the setting had different regions and countries with different majorities and minorities. The Wildlings, the Bravosi and the Dornish for example all had their different cultures and races. It’s not hard to do it right.
This episode had the worst overnight viewing figures ever, and it’s been hilarious going on fan channels and reminding them of it!

The amount of things they have continually gotten wrong about the Doctor and his history, not to mention his supporting cast from those days is staggering.
@@ShaunakDesaiPianoThat’s actually partly why I gave up on Dr Who. Now I realise that it’s almost impossible to remember every little detail that’s happened in a show that’s been going on for decades, but they should at least get the main lore and central storyline right.
Back when I wrote my own little short stories or was GM on some internet forum role playing games I was careful about providing lore for the world, characters and setting. I kept a running file that summarised what happened as well as my own notes about the story arc.
Did I occasionally forget something or make a mistake? Of course. But every time one of the players let me know about it, I’d go back to the specific page to verify it and if they were correct then I’d apologise and make the necessary corrections. Often this required letting everyone know about the mistake and how I was correcting it. In all my years of GMing nobody ever held a grudge over my occasional mistake.

@@brianerickson6775 except that wouldn't work without decanonising most of Nu Who - the Valeyard's motivation is that he was in his final regenerative phase and feared death which drove him into becoming evil and trying to force the Doctor into signing his remaining regenerations in order to extend his lifespan. With the last Matt Smith episode, Gallifrey gave the Doctor a second cycle of regenerations via transdimensional Wi-Fi, and THAT was retconned by the Timeless Children which meant the Doctor could regenerate perpetually.
As for the "Master origin story" theory, that wouldn't really work because they were in the Academy at around the same time and knew each other (based on classic Who), and this was reinforced in Nu Who's The Beating of the Drums (?).

Well, technically, Sutek wasn't killed off. He was in a time tunnel, and the Doctor moved the other end of the time tunnel thousands of years in the future, so that Sutek would die of old age before he ever got out.
