I was there. Ranieri really did bring about a change. I always thought the media calling him the 'Tinkerman' was insulting and did him a disservice. Anyhoo, that apart, it was a terrific atmosphere, something we lack at home nowadays, not away mind, with a motm performance by Carlo in goal. I'm in my 60s now and wouldn't half mind be in my 40s again lol

@@JamesG89 I won't argue with Soxy, he ought to know. I'm more about the support. Like taking 10,000+ to the San Siro for the Milan game. The noise we made vs Liverpool to win 4-2 FA Cup after being 0-2 down at half time.
Dalla Bona could've been a star for Chelsea, but he chose to leave for Milan and was never heard from again. Shame. What a great strike partnership Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen were.

We have so many legendary goalkeeper. From kharine, cudicini, de goey, cech, courtois. But if we look from price wage vs performance, cudicini is one of the best. Sell courtois if he wants to go to madrid. Low wage cabalero can do just fine. Not much different in quality compared to courtois.
@@@matthewdoyle3877 - every team who's won a league title has 'bought' success if you use money as the only yard stick. Because in the modern football era, it costs £Ms to bring together the best manager, the best players, and the best back teams. But it takes skill to really blend all that into success. And not every team who has spent £Ms has reaped the ultimate success. Look at Gerard Houllier for example. He bought 40 players at Liverpool but despite some cup success, he never won the big title, despite spending £Ms over several years. Many a club has spent big but not always brought home the cups. But of course also, others have - from Barcelona to Real Madrid, from Bayern Munich to Paris Saint German, from Inter Milan to Juventus, from Man City to Man Utd, and from Blackburn to Chelsea. And Arsenal haven't exactly spent peanuts over the last 10 years buying big players. But its the losers who cry how much their rivals have spent, when they don't win. By comparison, going year by year, Man Utd have spent overall, more than their rivals since the start of the Premiership. I remember they made record signings each year (at the time) e.g. the most expensive striker (Ruud Van Nistilroy), the most expensive defender (Rio Ferdinand), the most expensive midfielder (Veron), the most expensive teenager (Rooney), and the most expensive keeper (Bartez). And they've won the most. Not surprisingly. Now Liverpool under Klopp has spent £Ms more than most other Premier League teams to chase success. It's what you have to do to get anywhere these days. Even the Championship sides spend £Ms striving for promotion. Look at how much Leeds have spent over the last few years. Only one team in Premiership history could claim they hadn't spent as much as their rivals to win the title - and that was the amazing Leicester City. They are sadly, the exception rather than the rule.
Liverpool..so pathetic. They had just one great player, Owen, and without him there is the result. Carragher was thorn apart here, watching from close distance the goals. Jamie, you should've tried to beat them by spitting them! 😉
Hang on...how did this happen? According to some CFC were only formed in 2003 and yet here they are destroying Liverpool pre Abramovich. This must be fake surely?

Ranieri was an awful manager, he didn't tinker for injuries he tinkered for fun. Graeme Le Saux said so in his book

From 1996 1997 up to 2006 2007 we won 10 of 11 league home games against Liverpool. Sadly since then we've won just 3 of 15.

I thought Cudicini was the best goalkeeper in the Prem at this time. It goes to show how good Cech was as Carlo rarely got a game once he arrived.
