- The RVPT held the second Lytham Hall Running Day on 31st August 2015. A number of vehicles were on display and operated a 10 minute service to Fairhaven Lake.
Look out and listen to Leyland Lion 1161 make her Grand Entrance to Lytham Hall, She certainly got everyones attention.
I am very pleased to hear that it is now planned to have the Lytham Hall Running day as an annual event. I look forward to attending it next year.
Many thanks to everyone involved with the event for a thoroughly enjoyable day.
A selection of Photos from the Event can be found at: www.mollsmyre.co.uk/rvpt-lytha...
Impressive location for a bus event, good job those gates weren't any narrower though! I'm glad to hear that it will be a regular event, it was much bigger than I'd expected, must add this one to my 'to visit' list.
I love the Fishwick's double decker with the rear entrance. It reminds me of catching the football special in Tardy Gate to Deepdale for a North End match. I can still smell the leather seats!! Wonderful.
Glad the video brought back some nice memories.
Brilliant Videos!! Have liked and subbed. Looking forward to more.
Thank You Glad you like them.
That looks a nice place; just the right setting for something like that. They were taking it very carefully through that gateway! Some interesting architecture @ 14:50 too, some Gothic exuberance there. I think perhaps the carburettor needs adjusting on that old Leyland.
+AndreiTupolev Lytham Hall certainly makes a fantastic backdrop for the classic buses, and the vast grounds give plenty of photo opportunities. You may be right saying the Lion needing carburettor adjustment.I'm sure there would be plenty of TLC from the Ribble guys.
Nicely done again! Quality comedy moment at 2:03 😄 thanks for sharing
+Lee Pacey Thank You,Glad you enjoyed the video.
It sounded like there was a clay pigeon shoot going on nearby! :-)
bertie and his relatives. sounds like the bus at 3:07 is having a bad hair day . lovely setting for this ..:)
There is a cafe by where you get on and off the bus in Lytham called Berties cafe, I've been in there the past couple of times I've been to Lytham
2:51 run run run......it's shooting rsrsrsrs
is there a DVD available to purchase if this day.
Sorry I'm not sure about that, Best bet would be to contact The Ribble Preservation Trust.
i used to love the old Ribble in darker crimson red with gold lettering. don't like the lighter red with smaller 'Ribble' in white with national bus logo. i wish they wouldn't change things to be hip and modern.
Sadly, These days nothing stays the same for long.
