Hello friends! Today we bring you our second reaction to Pink Floyd! We've been asked a lot to react to this song. What a beautiful guitar solo, without a doubt one of the ones I will remember most, not only for its length but for David Gilmour's magical touch. Thanks for the support. Take Care! 😊
When I was able to see David live for the first time in 2016 and experienced him playing 5 a.m. with his Les Paul, I could only cry because it was so incredibly beautiful.
Check out :- Pink Floyd "Echoes" (Part 1) live at Pompeii 1972 No Audience, No Lights, No Pyrotechnics, just Gods playing to the Gods! A little song about all life on the entire planet and how we should be better human beings 😉
for more David Gilmour guitar NOT with Pink Floyd try the band Berlin - their song "Pink and Velvet" studio version!!!!!! very similar to Comfortably Numb towards the end of the song.... almost like a reprise.
Can I put the late great Gary Moore into your comment please I grew up with both of these legends and depending on my mood I would be guided like the rat following the pied Piper
Yes. Life changing for me at the time. And I've been to many, many concerts since I first saw Floyd in 1988. Nothing even comes close. Intense, loud (!) , crisp, tight, timed to perfection and just utterly amazing all round.
One of the best reactions I've seen for a Pink Floyd song...no interruptions just an introduction, listening and watching this superb performance then thoughts and an analysis. Very, very good. I hope you follow up with more Floyd reactions.....Anything from the Pulse concert, Echoes (live) from Pompeii 1971, would be a good start. Greetings from the UK!
Hello Nick! Thanks for your comment. We realized that interruptions and long introductions were bothering people so we began to make modifications to our reactions. Pink Floyd is an amazing band. Greetings from Argentina! ☺️
I have PULSE at home of course, but I like to listen on UA-cam to reactions and watching thing the faces. (Especially when David gets into "that" solo). But before that I always scroll down to see if anyone has written...never ever pause that solo.! It's a cardinal sin. You guys didn't and your comments were good. Thanks!
Pink Floyd is Legendary, one of the greatest Rock bands ever on the planet, and PF guitarist and lead vocalist, David Gilmour is an international treasure. They ARE the GOAT of Progressive Rock. Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1964, they have sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide! This 1994 Pulse Concert was one of the final performances of Pink Floyds 1994 "The Division Bell" World Tour, the tour was 112 shows in 68 cities, in 18 countries, from March to October of 1994. There were only 3 members of Pink Floyd back in these days, Roger Waters had quit the band in 1985, leaving the other 3 members to continue on as Pink Floyd. The 3 remaining PF members onstage here are the 3 old guys, lol,... David Gilmour, (guitar, lead vocals),... Nick Mason, (drums, percussion),... and Rick Wright, (keyboards, vocals)
I often say that watching this version of Confortably Numb is a complete sensory experience. The lights, the music, the guitar solo...it all adds up to one of the greatest musical journeys in history. I watched this version in 1996 and since then I get goosebumps every time I watch it.
the legend goes that the stage light manager came to pink floyd to ask them what they wanted for the show and they just handed him a blanko check and said: "you come up with something."
9:28. Oliver: "Look at the lights". You just can't imagine how many millions of Floyd fans in the '60s and '70s said those exact same words as soon as the LSD kicked in!!!
Thanks for sharing❤ Greetings from a life long fan! Have a large Pink Floyd collection on vinyl, and this Pulse concert on DVD (2005 edition). Keep coming back to their music, as precious as it is timeless, aptly illustrated by the appreciation shown for it by people much younger than me😂 (and the Pink Floyd themselves).
Hello friend! Thanks for your lovely comment. For now we have only heard Time and Comfortably Numb but we can already tell that it is a band that incredibly builds musical environments and transports you to another place. Thank you for sharing your story with the band with us. Greetings from Argentina! ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you for the video and the hard work you put into bringing them to your fans. I bought my first Pink Floyd in the late 1960s and I still listen to them today as an old man in my mid-70s. It is enjoyable to see a young generation appreciate music made 50 years ago.
Hello Clifton! Thanks for your support ❤️ From our humble place we try to share our reactions and also try to bring this beautiful music to new generations. Good music never dies! ✨Take Care!
I worked on this tour in 1994. The best i ever did! 600 Technicians Local + Pink Floyd Crew to biuld the stage. 55 Trucks on the road..............I was 22 years old
It has been voted many times as the best live guitar solo performance ever. David Gilmore doesn’t plug his guitar into an amp, he plugs it directly to his soul.
I've been a fan of Pink Floyd for 50 years after I bought my 1st copy of "Dark Side of the Moon" in 1973, yes I've had multiple copies LP 8-track, cassette an CD. I've had copies of The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here and others. This solo is epic!
Hello Kelsea! Thanks for your constant support! Pink Floyd is an amazing band. The two songs we reacted to caught our attention for their lyrics and their ability to build a beautiful musical atmosphere. Take care of yourself! ❤️❤️
Her face is completely absorbed by the mastery of this performance. It is like a child who has discovered the wizardry of magic, so cute. So happy and sad at one of the same time. He is living it. Salutations to them both for not interrupting.
i was there in earls court london 1994. best night of my life even more than my wedding day. pink floyd are a british national treasure . david gilmour greatest solo eve
Pink Floyd is probably the most unbelievable rabbit hole you can venture. They are simply the absolute best to step on stage or recording studio. Dark Side of the Moon was on the charts for over 13 years.
I was there and let me tell you it is something you experience through all your senses and this type of experience will never happen again due to modern music being the way it is. The whole concert was a feast of visions, sounds, emotions and by the end you just more and more. Been to many concerts from the greats of the seventies and sixties, and none compare to the masters of concerts The Pink Floyd. All the best.
Oh wow! This reaction video was the very best, you know why! Because y’all listened to the whole song before saying what y’all thought about it. This is the first time that I have ever seen a reaction where they did this and you just don’t realize how much that is appreciated, keep up the great work, we loved it. ❤❤❤❤
Hello friend! Thanks for your lovely comment. We have seen that many complained that the reactions stop, so we decided to do them like this 😅 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Mesmerizing - visually and musically! Love it! David has the most emotionally eloquent guitar on the planet. This is one of those songs which relaxes me, makes me laugh and cry at the same time.... and want more when it's done. I have a lot of good memories associated with this song. Gave you a tip/suggestion under your pinned post. Thank you for this one. See their movie "The Wall" or listen to the entire album to get this song in context. "Sorrow", "Run Like Hell"..... so many great songs - live, of course.
The long guitar solo replaces words. It’s a cry from the human race to a higher power for saving our souls and take us to a better place. When the space ship is descending you can hear the change in the guitar tone like long cries calling us from the space ship to come onboard and start a new journey.
A stunning performance. Imagine being there, enjoying some food and drinks with your friend. Enjoying the show with everyone around you. Hoping the show would never end. This would be one of those concerts.
I was there at Earls Court in 94 when this was recorded. I was 19 and it was all down hill from there really, from that day forwards this is what all other live performances have been measured against.. and nothing that i've seen since has even come close to matching the sheer magic of that David Gilmore solo. The GOAT.
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment and the recommendation. We will continue reacting to this amazing band. We really enjoyed the experience. Greetings from Argentina! ❤️
Starting late 60s this band taught several generations how to LISTEN to music .Between vocals, and Sir David Gilmours solos, shift your ears to the drums, bass, and keyboards 5 seconds each and repeat or fixate on one for a while. Listen.
The photo of Gilmour you are using is from a later concert. He is wearing Jimi Hendrix's guitar strap in this photo. His wife bought it for him. He has worn it since about 2006. On July 4th, 1970 Jimi used that strap to play Star Spangled Banner for us at Atlanta Pop. Can you imagine how I feel when I see that strap again? Can you imagine what that strap is worth today? To me, the memories are priceless. The point of the last verse of this song is that we have dreams when we are young, but most of us give up on those dreams and just become "Comfortably Numb". I feel privileged to have lived during one of the most wonderful eras of music! It has made my life much more pleasant. Now it's your turn to make history! Do your best to make your history wonderful!!!
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment and for share your history with the music with us. ✨❤️We are trying to do our best. We would have loved to live that time full of incredible music and much still to be discovered. From our humble place we try to share our reactions and also bring this beautiful music to new generations. Good music never dies! Greetings from Argentina ✨
These 2 listeners were a tough crowd. I could see their initial skepticism wane, then be taken over by smiles and recognition of true craftsmanship. I think this fundamentally changed them for the good. So nice to see young people get it, like we did.
The saddest part about younger people discovering Pink Floyd is knowing that we will never see them in concert again. I was lucky enough to see them twice. David Gilmour said he wishes he could have experienced a Pink Floyd concert.
If not the best guitar solo, it is in the conversation and often mentioned in the Top 3. David Gilmour is like no other, A musical genius who is all about feeling and soul, he sets a pace that is perfect for the song he is playing. The anti-shredder in away, just plays the most fitting notes. Another from the Pulse Concert that this is from would be great to see/hear is One of These Days, A tremendous vibe from their Meddle album. Also try Echoes Live at Pompeii for a look at them in their prime in an amazing setting. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment and this information. We will continue reacting to this show! We added One of These Days to our list to react. Greetings from Argentina!
They had to use three stage sets for this tour, because it took so long to set up and break down. This is the best concert I ever saw. It was even better than seeing Michael Jackson live, and he put on a show as well.
I'm 65 now, and I've heard a LOT of guitar (I play the instrument). Comfortably Numb (Pulse live version) is the #1 best solo my ears have ever heard. #2: (A TIE) Any Color You Want (Pink Floyd); Hotel California (The Eagles); Sweet Child of Mine (Guns and Roses) #3. Geeeezzzzz.... so many others including Aerosmith's many Joe Perry slings... From here on down they're mostly good, but not in that upper echelon.
I was hoping it was this song, because this has always been one of the top guitar solos of all time. Just a quick hint: check out Rush and Alex Lifeson, like Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato, and many others for greatest guitar solos. And remember there is no perfect or best guitar solo. They are like cherry blossoms (in the movie Last Samurai), they are ALL perfect!
I saw this show two nights in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada on May 23 and 24, 1994. Imagine 62,434 people per night, all with the same dazzled look that Mika expressed throughout this video. We knew we had just witnessed a unique and memorable event in our lives. All the spectators seemed stunned, as if they were all "Comfortably Numb". For a next reaction: Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away Remastered 2019 - UA-cam Possibly David Gilmour's 2nd best emotional solo.
Hello friend! Thanks for share your history and experience with us! Also thanks for the suggestions. We will continue reacting to Pink Floyd! They are amazing. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
I think why alot of young people have such an emotional reaction to this kind of music is because of the emotions the musicians put into every note. Today, unfortunately, it seems as though alot of the music is synthetic. And its hard to make a computer show emotion. And, for a generation that has been so desperately deprived of music that cuts to your soul, hearing music like this can be an emotional roller coaster. Im hoping that music will revert back to people making the music orher than machines. But, who knows, anyways, great reaction guys. This is the first one ive watched by you two. Take care, and God bless. P.S. Tell Messi hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania U.S.A. 🇺🇸 🇦🇷 🇩🇪
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment and welcome to the channel! Today music is made mostly by computer, through virtual instruments, and in many cases by a single person. Not only is it something "synthetic" but it is also no longer a shared experience. The sense of "band" is being lost and they are just the artist accompanied by his producer. Greetings from Argentina! We will send greetings to Messi 😊
I really enjoyed your reaction. Your English is great, no worries. When I think of iconic guitar solos I think back to the 60’s, maybe the 70’s. Comfortably Numb, like so many of Pink Floyd’s songs, is best listened to in the context of the full album. As far as it’s iconic status I compare maybe Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption to this and the smooth lyric quality of David Gilmour’s guitar masterpiece. Totally different but undeniably great. Looking forward to more reviews/reactions from y’all. 🤘🏻
Like many songs, there is another layer of meaning and interpretation beyond the experience that Roger Waters' lyrics convey. Maybe you are not yet old enough to sense this interpretation: As you mature and think and contemplate, you see the world spinning off its axis, you see wrongs that are not righted, and you see bad overtaking good,. But at some point in life, you realize you are not going to change anything and so your throw in the towel and capitulate--you become comfortably numb. To me the lyric, "the child is grown, the dream is gone" is just about the saddest line imaginable.
To me it relates to my experience with depression and the antidepressants they use to treat it. They enable you to put on a show, to be a "normal" person, to feel comfortably numb.
Hello friend! Thanks for this information about the song. The lyrics are so emotional. We think their lyrics are one of the things that make Pink Floyd the great band that it is. Greetings from Argentina!
@@OhMyMole it's not uncommon for pink floyd, they have such a lot of very long songs. The Concert this song was recorded at over ran by nearly two hours, the band gets in the mood and just plays for as long as they want to!
You really have to listen to this song in the context of the album as a whole for at least one intended interpretation of the lyrics. The Wall is a deep dive all by itself.
@@OhMyMole Thank you for thanking me. There will come a time that has thousands of people to thank, but you won't be able to thank them all individually. Enjoy being small grasshopper now. Large grasshoppers remember later.
Seems as though the girl was reaction more to the visuals, the glitter that crows are attracted to, rather than the masterpiece that was the music. Her counterpart was totally tuned in to the tapestry of the music.
Hi, friend! It is an audiovisual work. The music is fantastic but I think the atmosphere generated by the lights and the scenery also makes it a unique experience. Greetings!
Once I told my girlfriend listening to this song: "You heard the second best guitar solo ever." She asked what the best guitar solo is, I answered: "Wait two more minutes honey....."
The "Greatest Solo" is down to your taste in music. Another great one to comment on is Eric Clapton's "Edge of Darkness" at The Albert Hall. I'm a fan of many music genres. Different genres have different greats. U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" after the bombing, Dire Straits "Going Home" in Sheffield? The question has no answer, it is down to individual taste. Nice reaction, though

Fender built the guitar, Gilmour made it sing.
Santana is another guitarist who squeezes a lot of emotion out of the guitar. I love listening to both Santana and Gilmour.

Mark Knopfler is the man with unique guitar sound, with a singing guitar! But Gilmore also is great...
No question, the best version of the best song by the best band and THE best solo ever.

I was there, 29 yrs ago and its still amazing now
Hello Andy! Thanks for your comment. They are amazing musicians!! Greetings from Argentina :)
I always was a PF's fan, but when Pulse come out, they became gods for me.
I saw that concert in 1994 in Toronto. Was great.
I'm happy, I could hear it live June '89 in Hamburg / Germany
That's awesome!!! Thanks for your comment friend! Greetings from Argentina!
Also, I forgot one, also listen to On The Turning Away and Gilmour plays another fantastic solo in this one also.
Great reaction I was actually at this gig Earl's Court London 1994 amazing
Hello Paulo! Thanks for your comment 😊Greetings from Argentina!
The best gutar solo live in history of music at the best consert.
I saw this tour live in 1980. One of the highlights of my life. They had a lot more money for this show. Lol.
Hi friend! Wow! That's amazing! It must have been great to be there. ❤️ Greetings from Argentina!
They had to use three stage sets for this tour, because it took so long to set up and break down. This is the best concert I ever saw. It was even better than seeing Michael Jackson live, and he put on a show as well.
David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it,
Meus parabéns, NUNCA, MAS NUNCA EM HIPÓTESE ALGUMA INTERROMPA UM SOLO DE GUITARRA 🎸 , AINDA MAIS DE DAVID GILMOUR 👏🏾👏🏾
Beauty from tragedy. Beautiful song!
Thank you to see the appreciation for this old school music.
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment. Greetings from Argentina!
I'm 65 now, and I've heard a LOT of guitar (I play the instrument). Comfortably Numb (Pulse live version) is the #1 best solo my ears have ever heard.
#2: (A TIE) Any Color You Want (Pink Floyd); Hotel California (The Eagles); Sweet Child of Mine (Guns and Roses)
#3. Geeeezzzzz.... so many others including Aerosmith's many Joe Perry slings...
From here on down they're mostly good, but not in that upper echelon.
great reaction and great solo's there :)
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment :) Greetings from Argentina!
For a next reaction: Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away Remastered 2019 - UA-cam
Possibly David Gilmour's 2nd best emotional solo.
If you liked that, you can't miss High Hopes from this same show, Pulse
Hello Lucrezia! Thanks for your comment and recommendation. We will add it to our list to react. Greetings from Argentina! 😊
@@OhMyMole gracías from Brasil, hermanos.
D. GILMOUR is a god of 🎸, we are blessed to live at the same time as him...
Hello friend! He is amazing ❤️❤️ Greetings from Argentina!
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment and the information about the song 🙌🏻✨ We will continue reacting to more Pink Floyd. Greetings from Argentina!
Her face is exactly how people look the first time they hear this masterpiece
Lovely and hypnotic music ❤️✨🎵
¡Me encantan tus reacciones! ¡Las reglas de Pink Floyd!
Thank you friend ❤️✨
Well said.
Incredible
Thanks for your comment 🙌🏻✨
Apparently in order to fit on dvd format, 17 minutes were edited out of the solo! So think of how good the live experience was!
Hello Sean! Wow! That’s amazing! Thanks for your comment. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
@@OhMyMole it's not uncommon for pink floyd, they have such a lot of very long songs. The Concert this song was recorded at over ran by nearly two hours, the band gets in the mood and just plays for as long as they want to!
the Crème de la crème of progressive rock !
Awesome band! Thanks for your comment friend! Greetings from Argentina
You really have to listen to this song in the context of the album as a whole for at least one intended interpretation of the lyrics. The Wall is a deep dive all by itself.
Hello Patrick! Thanks for your comment. This is a Masterpiece ❤️ Greetings from Argentina!
El mejor solo de todos los tiempos (the best of all time) Jimmy Page Stairway to Heaven.
Soaring thru the atmosphere... there he was again. Superman with a guitar a/k/a David Gilmour. 😊❤😮
❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for your comment. Gilmour is awesome
Greetings!
Great Job aha another convert to the Great Pink Floyd
Thanks for your comment! ❤️ Pink Floyd is an amazing band. Greetings from Argentina!
There is an old saying that Gilmore says more in one note than most musicians do in an entire song.
The girl( I don't know her name) looked a little mesmerized there for a while.😵💫
Hahah, Pink Floyd experience 😂😂 Greetings from Argentina!
Echo, Pompeii then Sorrow Pompeii, 50 years later. Same talent.
Once I told my girlfriend listening to this song: "You heard the second best guitar solo ever." She asked what the best guitar solo is, I answered: "Wait two more minutes honey....."
Thanks for share this with us 😊 Greetings from Argentina
The sound quality. This is live in 1994!
Amazing!
Every solo David Gilmour plays is the best ever!
Their Solo longer than most Artists Career.
Hahah, better comment ever. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️ Greetings from Argentina
