The game's protagonist is Ryu Hayabusa, master ninja, descendant of the Dragon Ninja lineage and current wielder of the Dragon Sword. One year after Ninja Gaiden Black, master blacksmith Muramasa is setting up shop in Tokyo, Japan. A CIA agent named Sonia enters the place and asks for Ryu's whereabouts, until members of the Black Spider Ninja Clan attack the shop and kidnap her. Enter the Dragon Ninja Ryu, who fails to stop Sonia's kidnapping and makes haste around the Tokyo skyscrapers and rescues the agent, who informs him of an attack on the Hayabusa Village by the Black Spider Ninjas, who wish to steal the Demon Statue they possess and protect.
Ryu returns to his home and finds his father, Joe Hayabusa dueling with Genshin, leader of the Black Spider Ninja Clan. Unfortunately, the Demon Statue is taken away by Queen of the Greater Fiends and the Ruler of Blood, Elizébet, and Joe urges his son to retrieve the statue at all costs. Ryu travels around the world with Sonia, in pursuit of Elizébet and the Demon Statue, while encountering legions of Black Spider Ninjas, Fiends, and three other Greater Fiends: Alexei, the Graceful Ruler of Lightning; Volf, the Invincible Ruler of Storms; and Zedonius, the Malevolent Ruler of Flame.
Ryu tracks Elizébet down to South America, where she offers the Demon Statue to Infernal High Priest Dagra Dai, in order to resurrect the ancient Archfiend, Vazdah. Elizébet duels with Ryu and he defeats her, but Elizébet proclaims her return. An overlooking Genshin explains that the fiends are looking to resurrect the Archfiend who is supposed to emerge from Mount Fuji back in Japan. The mountain is also the place which bound both the Black Spider Clan and The Dragon Lineage. Ryu returns home, cautioning Sonia not to follow him.

I always hated how the enemies took advantage of the bad camera to attack you off camera.
Even though I suck at Ninja Gaiden, I LOVE this series! The gameplay, atmosphere, and characters are the best. I love Rachel too. 😍

Wish there could have been actual stealth moments in the NG games. I mean, Ryu's a ninja, yet he rarely ever did actual stealth

@@tenusboat i kinda like the stealth in 3. It's supposed to be slow and methodical, and it better fits Ryu as a _NINJA,_ which is stealthy by definition.
I like Volf, he just wanted to have the fight of his life. He knew was dying and just wanted to make the most of it. The other fiends just wanted to rule over everything.

Out of the 4 greater fiends he's my absolute favorite one.
I remember playing this game so many times over again. I didn't ever get the 1st one unfortunately. Dont know if I'll ever get the chance to. But I enjoyed the hell outta this one at least
If you have an Xbox One, at the very least, you can purchase Ninja Gaiden Black and/or Ninja Gaiden Sigma-1 (on gamepass right now, 08/2022) for $20 or less on the marketplace. It also works on the Series S|X very well, even better than the One in fact. Give it a go. You're missing out if you don't give it a go. I think it's even better than number 2 or Sigma 2. It's worth it trust me!

I think what I liked about this one more so than the first, after all the struggles and hard worn fights, Ryu hasn't only won the battle, but Sonia's heart as well. Just sucks they never brought her back in Ninja Gaiden 3.

NG2 (never played Sigma) was amazing. It was hard as fuck at the time but it was amazing

This is one of the few games that I am good at while also dying all the time. The boss fights would get progressively easier after each death so even if I lost numerous times I would eventually beat them in the end.

Is this game easier than souls on normal mode?
uafc1 Probably is not if you are new, if you played the game before then Its probably easier, just depends.
On the highest difficulty ninja gaiden is the harder game master ninja makes dark souls look easy
It takes some time getting used to the combat and getting the combos down if you have never played before.
I haven't played enough Ninja Gaiden "2" to say, but I remember having an really hard time compared to "Sigma 2" then again I am familiar with the series compared to then. If you ask me Ninja Gaiden 3 RE is harder on Normal than Sigma 2.
