- One of the most common jobs we do around here is fixing wiring mistakes done by other shops - or even worse, someone's buddy who was clearly paid for the work with beer. This rear center panel was an excellent example of several common electrical wiring problems that we see.

I just bought one of these and installed myself. Yes I used heat shrink butt connectors. Which wire, fuse, and switch do i use for the dual revolution function?
These guys do awesome work. I have bought tons of stuff from them. Huge selection
Very clean work. Nicely done.
Empire chrome where you guys from what state and city you in?
West Memphis, Arkansas
There are few things more satisfying that gutting someone else's junky half-assed work, and re-doing it right.
I Got That Rectangle Lightbar With All The Lights At The Fleamarket Today For 15.00 It Is Bent I Wanta Put The Lights On My 1988 Chevy Van
have y'all thought about using the solder connectors instead of the pinch type
I wish you guys were closer I'd have you install mine
My favorite part is when Sidney pulls that back plate off and can’t believe his eyes 🤣🤣
This is awesome. But where do you draw power from ? Connecting to a fuse or to the battery or idk.
the lights are powered by the light circuit from the truck.
@@oregonfordguy9812 1 year ago I was a complete retard. I literally put two and two together and realized that it just gets connected to the existing taillight harness that was already there
On dual revolution lights, how do you wire the backup wire for reverse
all semis have a reverse feed wire at the twilight panel. use that.
What for tool do you guys use for pinching the Butt connectors?
It’s a crimper tool made specifically for butt connectors. It has a space for each size (blue, yellow, and pink/red) and it smashes the butt connector juuuust right. Not loose enough for the wire to slip out but not tight enough to damage it either.
empirechromeshop the one I use smashed them well but once you add the heat to the end it seems to split in the middle
Hmm I’m not sure about that. Give our shop guys a call sometime! They’ve seen just about everything and could probably share some good tips.
@@empirechromeshop what brand crimp tool does he uses?
All of the guys have several different brands - we have a Caterpillar crimp tool that’s been here forever that’s awesome. We also like Matco’s crimp tool.
I’m having the same problem right now I looked in the panel and everything is taped moisture is in there and one side of the lights I can’t get to come on Wish your shop was closer
Where did you put the brace you made to stabilize the panel?
didn't. its mounted directly to the frame with no spacers now..properly.
Some people just don’t have any pride in what they do
Wires look worse than how it came in. "If it ain't broke why break it".
🤣🤣 if you’re fine with exposed wires and corrosion, by all means! Most of our customers are smart enough to realize that the extra step saves them money in the long run.
How much did this job cost the Customer ?
I can’t remember exactly, but I think it was about 2 hours of work. We charge $75/hour and I would guess about $20 miscellaneous connectors and new wire. Probably $200-$250.
