My channel is focused on creating content about my favorite TV show Supernatural, from reactions to analysis videos, reviews, ending explained videos, top 10 lists, theories and everything in between. Supernatural story follows two brothers (Sam and Dean Winchester) who are out to kill every evil thing in this world. Going up against demons, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, b*llhounds, Leviathans, Djinns, Ghouls, demigods, witches, Wraiths, Ghosts, Wendigos, spirits, Changelings, Jefferson Starships, Clowns, Scarecrow, the four horsemen, angels and even Archangels like Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael among other things. They lose family and find new people they call family. They have gone to heaven for each other and will do it all over again. Cause that's what FAMILY does and "Family don't end with blood". Follow the adventures of the awesome Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester who lost his shoe and is deathly afraid of clowns, on their journey to avert the next apocalypse and save the world. Don't forget the number 1 rule: No chick flick moments!

To me famine was the scariest, watching a cook reach into cooking oil to eat fries despite the horrifying burns, it made me nauseous

i'm a fry cook and i can tell you after 7 years of probably thousand upon thousands of burns that it's not that bad to look at but it hurts a helluva lot worse. accidentally dropped a plastic handled scrapper in the vat once didn't even think just grabbed it, the heat almost felt like cold intense cold until i pulled my hand out. then it felt like my hand was covered in pure capsicum that pain lasted about 3 days. the big thing to worry about isn't the burn but keeping it clean.
Damn that reminds me so much of the first issue of Hellblazer.

I miss when supernatural had a eerie and creepy vibe... the early seasons (under kripke) were great. Now angles and demons aren't mysterious at all, they're basically all just humans who love talking business.. there's just barely any wonder in the later seasons :( but hey, I'm still invested lol

I will never understand why they had to kill off death original actor he was so good at it fit the role perfectly. Now we have Billy as death and it’s not the same

@@Cmon_bro12 Dean didn't really "kill" Death as we find out in later seasons, he killed the current avatar of death, which was replaced by the far less interesting "Billie" but I digress. If someone else killed him it would have felt disingenuous perhaps? As Dean and Death had the most ... tolerable... relationship. Dean was the only one who could get that close. Killing him and transferring the "Death" role kept 'Death' in the show. It is one of Supernatural's lower ranking writing ideas.

Every single scene featuring Death was so powerful. There are two characters in the entire show that Dean, the guy who told God to “cool it,” would never give any attitude to: John Winchester and Death. They should have never killed off Death. Or Bobby and Crowley tbh. My three favorite characters right there.

I recall in an interview taht they were trying to kill off crowly for like, 3 seasons straight, or something crazy like that, for the dumbest reasons. He's actually my favorite character and I always looked forward to his appearances. ^.^

If only Supernatural had the budget of an MCU movie so that in every season, they'd have a large scale scene in which some form of pandemic is actually dealt with. It would've racked up billions too.
Watching this clip quite a few years after watching the show, i'm super impressed with how Matt Frewer is so Matt Frewery. I don't think i've seen another actor with such a range of both facial and vocal expression, going from jokingly taunting to frighteningly haunting in a matter of seconds.
While Death was a perfect cast in this show, he kind of was a one trick pony, in the best sense of the word. He was meant to scare the shit out of you, and he did. But tall ass gangly Matt hyuck-hyucking in one scene and snarling the next, while putting on reading glasses, was awesome. Kudos to the writers and actors.

Death should be number 4 because his death was so contradictory to every thing he said and did before that moment. He knows just how far the Winchester's will go to defend one another by how he wants Sam dead before he helps Dean, but then willingly gives Dean the choice to kill his brother or Death. Like wtf?

Killing this Death's Avatar was perhaps the lous¡est moment in the entire show. Kind of liked this gentleman, compared to Billy
Even after all these years, after they cut off the ring from War's hand, I was hoping they'd also make off with his ride too......... man, that was a sweet Mustang!
i think dean changed his mind when death said 10:33 "do it or i will" the threat forced dean to kill Death. hes always been protective of Sam.
That was my most intense moment in the entire show bc I really thought for 1 second Dean would kill Sam and then he does what Dean does…. I miss them 😭
Pestilence defeat was just big plot contrivance to push the plot forward because he appeared very late into the season. You literally could not fight him because just being near him will make you extremely sick and much like Famine, he is able to even affect angels via their human vassal proxies.
Also Famine wasn't dead, he was just put into catatonic state because Sam send all demons he consumed back to hell, leaving him in weakened state. None of the Horsman could actually be killed because they were aspects of their respective influence, their physical form was just avatar of themselves. This is why War says "you cannot kill War kiddos", because in order to do so, you would have to stop every single conflict in the universe, which is impossible.
This is the exact same idea why Lucifer could not be killed, only locked up, because in Christian dogma Satan represents free will and tempts people to stray, and it is one of the many reasons why God simply does not destroy Satan, because in doing so he would destroy free will in humanity to chose their own actions.
However, post-Kripke era later retcon this and made all entities, including Death and God just some arbitrary powerful creatures that can die, which was beyond stupid. The moment they had Dean kill THE Grim Reaper I gave up on the show.

Pestilence and Conquest are the same thing but one carries disease.
Disease takes over, it spreads and conquers like a conquistador. Conquest seems like a weaker version of Pestilence
Not to mention Pestilence wears Conquests outfit, the royal clothing, crown, and bow & arrow. They're the same thing except conquest is just... another version of war, and Pestilence is more biblically accurate I believe, I could be wrong
@@urfacegoeshere Conquest would probably be more brutal and spread faster though. Pestilence just slowly kills you, rendering everyone helpless until only gore of what was before is left.

@@urfacegoeshere Not technically, Conquest and War are more similar. War is a series of conflicts while Conquest is focused on domination and rule.
War and Conquest are intertwined. But, war or conflict consists of a struggle.

I don't know about Famine's actor, but Death's actor was in Wrong Turn as one of the three main antagonists.
Julian Richings (Death) was also in George A. Romero's Survival Of The Dead.

There's no way in hell they should've been able to "defeat" any of them. Pestilence and death alone are damn near omnipotent. Wherever there is life, there is sickness and death.
Honestly I think Pestilence and War kind of got the short end of the stick here. I mean all that build up for two insanely powerful Horseman of The Apocalypse itself and they both just lose their rings by getting their fingers cut off. I mean War should've been able to at least beat their asses because HE'S WAR! The Personification of Conflict Itself! And he just gets mugged by two mortals! I don't care if one of them is a f**king Winchester! He was still a mortal human! You could've at least have War's finger cutt off by a lucky shot with a Winchester Rifle or something!

"Top 4 horsemen defeats". There was 4 of them. So on a 4 tier list, it is not much of a list as in ranking.
They got the four horseman all wrong in this series. Green is supposed to be the pale horseman aka Death. White is the conqueror / antichrist, red is war, and black is famine. I so wanted them to get death right, the Oh Death song and actor was fantastic.
As Billie said, the books write themselves. Death doesn't allow anyone to see their books. So if Death was part of the framework of things that "live and die", he would have seen his Death coming. Nothing says he is part of this framework besides being necessary for the dying. So if Death had read his book, he knew Dean was going to kill him, and respected the framework enough to let Dean do what he did. So betrayal? No. Maybe thought that Amara was going to leave a multiversal level body count, and he was not upto doing it all over again after God's first few attempts at creation were snuffed out. Amara/ God relationship did feel a bit petty, she even sort of felt some contempt because Sam's injury kept God on Earth.
My theory, anyway.

Ok hold I got massive questions regarding the horsemen. If death was born from a reaper's death; than what brings a new war, famine a pestilence?
Death is at a totally different level then the other three horsemen. Death could function without his ring, while the other three are lost entities without their ring, which was my biggest question: How can War, Famine and Pestilence be brought back after they got separated from their ring? If someone would wear their ring, they do get the powers entitled to that ring, but they do not fully become a horseman. So yeah, this raised some questions to me as well.
All i xan think of is the thumbnail And the Dean angry pout face😂
So... did anyone else rewatch this in light of the most recent episodes and Dean's crisis in determining what is or is not Chuck? Because that last scene with Death 100% reminded me of just HOW shocked Dean was to make that choice. Like, the whole swing itself, he seemed like he really was shocked he DIDN'T hit Sam.... *_What if this was one of those Chuck moments where Dean was about to do the WRONG thing according to the plan, and the killing of Death was Chuck stepping in._*

Dean had to kill Death because he was threatening to kill Sam. Death made a big mistake by doing that. He should've known Sam and Dean can't be killed.

Okay so question that I have had since season 5. No one seems to know. I watch the scene again and again and I still don’t know. When they go after Famine, and Sam does his whole thang (removing the souls of the humans and demons that famine took in) HOW does Dean get Famines ring? Does he go over and cut it off and they just thought we didn’t need to see the details? Did Famine go poof and leave behind his ring? War and Pesty, they chopped it off. Death of course handed his over to Dean. What about Famine? I’ve been wanting to know this since freaking 2009. If anyone could tell me, you’d make my life. 11 years is a long ass time to wonder and speculate. So thanks anyone who can help.
