  • Here is another in a series of videos I am putting together to help people use their old film cameras. The Mamiya twin lens cameras are fantastic for the price, and still readily available on eBay. Also, 120 film is available in a variety of emotions from B & H Photo Video and others.

Hello Paul. My name is William and I am 29. I have been shooting 35mm film for about 4 years now and have just gotten into shooting 120mm. This past week I purchased a Mamiyaflex C2. Im excited to dig in and see the results. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing the video. It was very helpful to see an actual person loading the camera after reading the manual. I also wanted to say hi and let you know that, for me, film is very much alive and so is the appreciation of these old camera. Keep up the great videos!

I've just loaded my first medium format film ever thanks to your video, using a Mamiya C330 that was one of my grandpa's treasures. Thank you.

Hi Paul, very relaxed presentation and not stressed out the way you talked. I fully understood the topic the way your present it. I am just a new comer to TLR. Thank you for sharing and looking forward to more of your tutorials.

This is my first time using this c330, and the first time in 10 years I've loaded 120 - just wanted to drop in and say thank you for making this video. It was well produced and helped grow my confidence with using this beautiful machine.

@@paulubl4380 :) my thoughts exactly here in western North Carolina. Gonna shoot a roll on this mamiya and then give this old bronica a try.

I've just bought the older sibling of these, the C3. What a wonderful bit of engineering! My film hasn't arrived yet, so I thought I'd just make sure I know the loading system. It's exactly as I suspected, but it's always good to check. The camera is almost the same but for some small differences: a different crank, no automatic cocking (so no shutter lock above the thumb release), and no front release button. But otherwise, they are almost identical.

Also, unlike the C33 and later, the C3 doesn't have an interchangeable focus screen. But fortunately the one that it comes with is very bright and useable.

Excellent presentation. I bought a c330f new years ago and just replaced the light seals after years of storage.

Thanks! I actually love these cameras. Fun to use, good optics and not too expensive.

Thank you. I needed a refresher and this was absolutely spot on. The quick shooting overview at the end was a welcome bonus too.

great video. thank you. I have been shooting on a C22 for two decades and I LOVE it. my C22 recently broke on a shoot where even though I turned the knob, the film did not advance (if you know anyone that could repair this). I just bought a "new" one with a 80 mm lens my other one is 105 mm). I noticed on the right side of the new C22 an option between sheet film/multiple exp and roll film. my previous model did not have this. I assume this does not allow the film to advance. my question is, is it possible that my older model has this option somewhere and I have inadvertently turned it on? I don't see the option but wanted to ask. (note, when loading film, it loads fine. it is just when exposing that the roll film does not advance). thanks.

    Hi Paul
Have you ever used a Rolleiflex 6008 integral?
    Kindest regards

    • @paulubl4380
      @paulubl4380  3 роки тому

Yes, I believe I used that camera years ago when I worked in a commercial studio. It is a beautiful system camera. What I love about the twin lens reflex cameras is that they are simple and complete as a single package… And usually they have very sharp lenses. However, except for the Mamiya TLR's and the different lenses you can use there is not much of a system to most twin lens cameras.

Any advice on how to remove and clean the inside of the taking lens on a Mamiya Automat A? The lens is hazey inside, maybe fungus or something. Thanks!

    • @paulubl4380

Sorry, that is a tough one... When I get a lens with fog it is usually time time to make it a pretty display camera. Not worth fixing. Might be a good time to get on ebay and look for a good deal on a new/old camera?
