I think Hank had a blindspot for family. He has a typical cop/soldier mentality, family = good, untouchable, bad guys = everybody else, especially those who conform to preconceived notions. If Hank was looking at Walt with a critical eye from the get go, the missing lab equipment would've been game over for Walt. Only him, Hugo, and presumably some of the other staff would have access, and only he would have known how to actually utilize it.
I think Hank was a bit too hard on himself. Yeah, he never wanted to suspect Walter, but its not like he lead the case away from him. No one else ever suspected Walt either, how could they, Walt was too much in Gus' shadow to be seen. So yeah, I think everything you say in this video is true, but I don't think you can blame Hank for any of it, and I like to believe that nobody at the DEA would have demanded him to step away from his position if he had just entered the office one day and said: "Guys, I think Heisenberg was my brother in law all along, here is some evidence."
Well put, I have never considered how much Hank is actually consciously or subconsciously ignoring the signs about Walt in front of him. As you pointed out, in his final moments it probably all hit him how he maybe could have avoided everything that has happened by catching on to Walt sooner. Intriguing subject, thank you for sharing your thoughts on it! And yea deep down Hank probably considered Walt as suspect much sooner than when he found "the proof" in the form of the book from Gale, but simply couldn't bring himself to really entertain that deep reaching thought with all it's many consequences.
Great 5 minute video, went to the point and correctly assumed the viewer saw Breaking Bad. I hate when some analysis video is 15 minutes long only because the creator gives an unnecessary summary of who Hank and Walt is.
@@serialbinger Lmao, some of them will say some shit like "But before we go to the point of the video, we have to all the way back to when Vince Gilligan was born, or some shit" 🤣
Hank didn't suspect Walt. If you thought that then you're an idiot that doesn't know these characters very well. There's no way he suspected him as for one of the most obvious reasons his mood towards Walt never changed a single bit until he read Gail's note in the Leaves of Grass.

True, you think Hank is an honest stereotype?

Sucks that Hank set up Walt from jump street
When the world needed him most he returned
Great post.
Thanks😁
I also feel
Like Walt wanted Hank and everyone to know who he was without a threat of prison…
He does want the credit without any of the blame
@ yeah that’s a better way of putting it! Want everyone to know about the money he made but not the people he killled

Thanks, been thinking about this for a while. Glad you liked it.

Thanks, don't watch my other videos 😅

Starts with the origin story of the Gilligan ancestry😂
Deep down he did, but he was like; Nah, Walt is a Kitten, scared little cat. Denial.
