Let me be clear, this is just my honest opinion and nothing more! The dev is clear about what this product is on the store, but for me it’s just way too expensive and unfinished, especially when you consider other products in the similar price range!
You know, I never been much of a 767 guy. But Imagine getting a PMDG quality 767. I would definitely get it even if it cost quite a bit more. I love learning all the systems of each aircraft proficiently. It's not enough to just have a pretty model; I crave functionality and realism. Thanks for the review PS! Even though its a hard pass for me on this one, its nice knowing what I should save up for.
Well, Captain Sim were the ones who held that title for a while. It's a shame their MSFS version is just terrible. We'll have to wait for someone else, probably not PMDG.
PMDG are definitely fantastic, but I’m equally impressed with DC Designs and Top Mach studios. IndiaFoxTecho has some excellent planes too. For airliners PMDG is easily the best quality.
I think the A300 was actually the first aircraft to be ETOPS90 back in the mid 70s then in the early 80s the 767 was the first ETOPS120 along with the A310...
Hey Pilot Studd, you should give a 6 month review of the EJet700 like you did here when the time comes. Gotta know how the development promise is holding up at FSS regarding that plane.
I see there are 2 different versions of the 767-300er. And I can’t tell the difference. One is a 767-300er and the other one is a 767-300er ge. What is the difference and which one should I buy
I could be wrong, but if I'm not mistaken I believe the GE variant has GE (General Electric) CF6 engines while the other has either the Pratt & Whitney JT9s or the Rolls Royce RB211s. As I said, I could be wrong. Definitely not an expert by any means, but if I had to guess, that would be where I'd aim.
Captain sim 767 with screens and ftsim+ sound mod will be best i think! Though captain sim systems aren't great but their texturing and modeling is excellent!
Literally you could take the Voiceover(s) and paste it over a review on the captain sim 763 and the review would be accurate. Crazy how a developer can make a mod just as bad (maybe worse) than the CS one!😂 Thanks for the review - very helpful.

Hi there! Just recently bought this plane on Xbox and was super exited to fly it as it is my favourite airliner plane. But knowing captain sims dodgy models in the past of course I am having issues and I was hoping maybe you or someone could help me out? So when I fly this plane all is good and normal but for some reason after 1 or 2 flights the manual pfd gauge, the 2 altitude gauges, the time gauge and the vertical speed gauge all don’t seem to work and it’s like they malfunction or glitch and the only way I can fix it is my uninstalling and reinstalling the plane but I shouldn’t have to do that all the time there must be another possible way or a permanent solution👍🏻

It is a nice model. I would love to see other liveries, but CaptainSim group wont allow repainters to do them. This is very, very bad for them. I wanted to get their Boeing 777-200, but after I learned bout their arrogance, I won't,
The model does not too bad overall, but for me there is something with the landing gear that's throwing me off.. seems a bit to tall at least from my point of view.
Its not good, no, but its not terrible... CS may have a better model and texturing, but at least there was some effort in making the IRS, PFD and some sounds
model is well done cockpit too but maybe they will improve systems and will work on this and then I would buy it. All screens and FMC looks terrible. It should be freeware or 10$ airliner for newbies.
Not your best review, I'm sorry to say. Starting to wonder what you think $30 is going to buy in this day and age? You are NOT going to get immersive systems simulation from ANYONE at that pricepoint, unless they are borrowing a 3d model from elsewhere (i.e. Blacksquare KA 350 which is actually $40).. The last systems based 767 products were from Captain Sim's Pro-Line, and Level-D Simulations and they were $50 and $70 respectively.. It looks to me like this dev is shooting for the Xbox and casual simmers and using JF's F-Lite (aka CLS) pricing and structure as a guide. F-Lite didn't have squat for systems, used tweaked default FSX flight models, and didn't sound all that spectacular.. But they worked for people who just wanted to jump in a plane and fly.. (the F-Lite 767 for FSX/FS2004 is currently $32, and I think I picked it up at $39 when it was first released) You "took one for the team," but somehow I don't think you are the dev's target audience, and as such this review is a bit harsh, and expecting systems simulation in a wide body airliner at that price point is sheer lunacy on your part. And on the 767's page in SimMarket, it says quite plainly: "Though being to a large degree customized, the systems of the 767 has its roots in default Asobo aircrafts, such as the 747." And TBH, the comment about the PBR textures was uncalled for.. Saying "or so the developer claims" implies that the dev is a liar, and that is just not right.. If you can't verify, or prove that it is a false statement, then just say nothing about it. And BTW, not sure where you bought your copy, but I see on SimMarket that it costs 25 Euros, not 30, which puts it right in line with LatinVFR's A320 series completion for the MS A320 NEO (which is also heavily dependent on default Asobo systems). And a little more research shows that RHD is definitely in the casual simmer's market, not the high fidelity or "study level" market, as their XP A320 offering is also lackluster when compared with higher tier brands, but performs reasonably for what it is... So maybe worrying a bit less about researching 583 767-300ER deliveries and more about researching a developer of casual use products would have been a better idea..
Hi Ross, thanks for your insight! PMDG sell their 737-600 for $35 USD, I question the 4k/8k texture claims as some textures are incredibly blurry! This isn’t available on Xbox, and yes I defiantly did buy this for 30 euros, feel free to shoot me an email and i’ll show you my invoice. In a world of great MSFS addons, below and above this price point, there is a lot to be desired here (as the comments section here shows). But then again it’s just my opinion! Your comment focuses on simulators of yesteryear, you forget that MSFS is the biggest market flight simulation has ever seen, previous-sim pricing models don’t apply. Just because someone sold an aircraft with default systems on FSX, doesn’t make it acceptable 15 years later albeit for the same price, saying that I am sure the dev is happy you’re willing to pay $30 for what is very close to a reskin, you must have more disposable income then me if you’re willing to part ways with that money. Some great MSFS aircraft options around the 30 Euro price point: PMDG 737-600 - $35 SWS Kodiak 100 - $37 (and on sale often!) Not to mention free alternatives: HW A330-900 Neo FBW A320 WT AAU Aircraft… Have a great day :)

Secondly, inflation might be in the news lately, but it happens to varying degrees every year.. So, a product that cost $30 in 2015, now runs for $42, and as such, with that logic, then the $25 they are charging is fair for this level of product. As for poor texture quality, that has nothing to do with whether it uses PBR or not. PBR stands for Physically Based Rendering and means that the material describes the visual properties of a surface in a physically plausible way, such that realistic results are possible under all lighting conditions. it has nothing to do with artistic quality, rather it is formulated in the model. The textures are still DDS textures, like most games have been using for over a decade, and as most of us know DDS textures can be compiled using differing methods of compression (remember mip mapping vs no mip mapping, and DXT3 vs. DXT5 vs 32-bit?), all of which render the textures differently on the model, with some looking better than others. So saying the dev is an average artist is better than implying that they are lying about using PBR. And 4k/8k is purely a resolution reference meaning that the texture sheet is 4096x4096 or 8192x8192, and honestly this is the most likely culprit for the poor texture quality was in the resampling of the texture sheet to the larger size.. Ever try and blow up a thumbnail pic to a size you can easily see? it ends up blurry, no matter what you do with it... I have no intention of purchasing this, as, like most I am eagerly awaiting the Bluebird 767, after having been disappointed that Captain Sim dumbed down their 767 (and we don't need to get into their atrocious temper tantrum towards repainters just to add icing on the cake).. I was just voicing my opinion that I think you were a bit harsh in this review, and that it sounded like you were trashing it because you had expectations of something that this offering is not ever going to be.. And in today's world, over-inflated expectations are as common as gamers' cries of "Hacker!" Have a great evening :)

MSFS does offer some compatibility with former FSX aircraft and models however I do understand your point here, inflation aside (yes I am aware), I still do not think this product is worth 30 Euros, and I am most certainly not going to tell my viewers its worth it. 30 Euros might not get you much nowadays, but on MSFS it sure can get you more then this! Disclaimer: I'm still on P3D 4.5 and I don't have MSFS 2020. Good points. I've been flight simming seriously since 2012 (and casually since the late 80's/mid 90's). I _really_ enjoy the immersive experience of both the PMDG 737/777 as well as the Captain Sim 767 II on P3D 4.5 (and before that, the LevelD 767 on FSX). The CS 767 II isn't quite as polished as the PMDG products, but I feel it's far from pure rubbish like many people seem to say it is. Perhaps they are getting confused with the first release of the 767 from Captain Sim (which I never used because I was happy with the LevelD product on FSX at the time). So all of that said, I don't quite understand all of the Captain Sim 767 II bashing. In my opinion it really discounts anything else they would say about any product. Yes I'm quite sure this 767 leaves some room for future improvement but this review was quite brutal. I was also groaning about "The 767 feels unrealistic (heavy)..." and moments later "I'm not a real pilot." It was at that point in the video I knew it was time to move on.
Never in the 25+ years Ive been playing the MSFS franchise would I think I’d say this, but the CS one is better. This is very unfinished/unrefined. Flight dynamics are ehhh, but the. If thing that makes it unusable for me is it is NOT frame rate friendly. I ended up getting very bad frames and stuttering with this on the first flight that required a restart of the sim. PC specs: i7-1200f 32gb memory RTX 3080 No way is it my system that’s having issues to run it. The models coding must have something going on. No issues using other aircraft.
I bought this when it first came out. I wasn’t expecting much as I got it on a (so called ) rebate. I fly it from time to time. If I want to fly a study level one thought, I go fly the FF 767 on Xplane 12.
Of course, as usual, this plane will not return to the Xbox, like the rest of the planes. I do not know why we, the console community, feel as if we came from Mars.
It’s not easy to make an addon that works for Xbox. It should be easier now with wasm support but still, it takes a lot of extra effort. Many plane (for example the fenix a320) require a separate program to be running while you’re flying, and that’s not even possible on Xbox. Besides, I don’t think you want this one anyway

Correct the A300 was, this was the first Boeing airliner to be ETOPS certified. :)

If you want to fly a good 767 or 757, get the Flight Factor versions on X plane.

I bought this when it first came out. I wasn’t expecting much as I got it on a (so called ) rebate. I fly it from time to time. If I want to fly a study level one thought, I go fly the FF 767 on Xplane 12.

It’s not easy to make an addon that works for Xbox. It should be easier now with wasm support but still, it takes a lot of extra effort. Many plane (for example the fenix a320) require a separate program to be running while you’re flying, and that’s not even possible on Xbox. Besides, I don’t think you want this one anyway
