During one of our live streams, we were talking about toys. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Alexis didn't know what a Pet Rock was. Her mom had told her that pet rock was something you found outside. This was very funny. #petrock #80s #toys #christmas

No bout a doubt it my friend. As a matter of fact after the dude who invented the "Pet Rock" made a fortune on it in sales. He followed up by writing a book called "Advertising For Dummies." 😂 If people think education is expensive, try ignorance. Just saying... 🤔. +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+ 🤘😜🤘

You need to show Alexis the back pages of an old comic book full of the greatest things ever. Sea Monkeys for example!!

A rock from outside is a wild rock brought in to captivity!

In my neck of the woods in Florida, those who owned Pet Rocks were the ones who got beat up. 😂 I remember the first time a friend of mine showed us their Pet Rock and the manual that came with it showing how to "train" the Pet Rock to "sit", "roll over", and "attack". We used to give him a hard time by asking him how his Rock was doing, asking if it was hungry or tired and we all gave him the nickname "Rocky" as a result. 😂🙏✌️

No different than buying any pair of shoes today and trying to tell someone that they're Jordans. 😂. Bad analogy possibly. 😅

My grandpa got one as a joke gift for his 50th birthday. I wouldn’t be surprised if most purchases of Pet Rocks were similar. As a kid, the real funny part of it was the “training manual” that came with it.

I know I'm late on this comment, but in France they had pet bicycles. Tiny little bicycles on a leash that they would walk around Paris with. Actually I think I still have my Pet Rock somewhere around, although I think at one time I turned it into a USB Rock you could plug into your computer. Of course it didn't do anything, but it had a USB cable coming out of it.

Hey Flickering Box, I just found your channel today - and I am enjoying the music and comedy reactions. I would like to recommend a song by Dub FX - Flow (featuring woodnote). It has a sax solo. Need I say more?

I think the ‘pet rock’ was mainly targeting metropolitan kids as opposed to rural ones. We had family from the city visit from time to time. Our cousins aged 10yo or so. We took them out on the atvs & that was the most exhilarating thing for them. Their eyes filled with wonder. They weren’t accustomed to those things. They did not want to go shopping or anything like that. No bought toys, nothing. All they wanted was to take back to the city was a large ‘mountain rock’ lol. 30-40lbs. Bigger than gravel but smaller than a boulder. We all had a good natured chuckle for those types of things

When they came out I was in my early teens, and even though it was a huge fad at the time, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. However the guy who came up with the idea became a millionaire from it. Some folks just had nothing better to do with their money I guess.

This is very interesting arguing over things such as rocks made out of minerals and broken pieces of crystals. ? for you to ponder on since your talking about pet rocks what type of pet rock was yours made of sedimentry, ignegous or metamorphic.
