During one of our live streams, we were talking about toys. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Alexis didn't know what a Pet Rock was. Her mom had told her that pet rock was something you found outside. This was very funny. #petrock #80s #toys #christmas

As someone once said "No one ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of people."
No bout a doubt it my friend. As a matter of fact after the dude who invented the "Pet Rock" made a fortune on it in sales. He followed up by writing a book called "Advertising For Dummies." 😂 If people think education is expensive, try ignorance. Just saying... 🤔. +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+ 🤘😜🤘
You need to show Alexis the back pages of an old comic book full of the greatest things ever. Sea Monkeys for example!!
I’m with you, Alexis. I’m Burch’s age, and ALWAYS thought that was ridiculous 😂😂
A rock from outside is a wild rock brought in to captivity!
No matter how tame they seem, you can never trust a wild one to not turn on you!
In my neck of the woods in Florida, those who owned Pet Rocks were the ones who got beat up. 😂 I remember the first time a friend of mine showed us their Pet Rock and the manual that came with it showing how to "train" the Pet Rock to "sit", "roll over", and "attack". We used to give him a hard time by asking him how his Rock was doing, asking if it was hungry or tired and we all gave him the nickname "Rocky" as a result. 😂🙏✌️
If you bought a pet rock, you had rocks in your head!!🤭😆
Pet Rock, had a great profit margin. Even better than Apple iPhone.
Pretty sure you could get one of those @ Spencer's Gifts in the local mall HaHa 😂They might have been on the same aisle with a Mood Ring and Edible Undies 🤣🤣 gigglesnortgiggle
😇❤
No different than buying any pair of shoes today and trying to tell someone that they're Jordans. 😂. Bad analogy possibly. 😅
Oh no, you get the same treatment today I am sure...
My grandpa got one as a joke gift for his 50th birthday. I wouldn’t be surprised if most purchases of Pet Rocks were similar. As a kid, the real funny part of it was the “training manual” that came with it.
😂😂 so funny to reminisce on the Pet Rock! 🥴🤣
I have an original Pet Rock. It was my Dad's. It's one of my many treasures from him.
Paying for the packaging as usual…🤣
Kinda reminds me of The Emperor’s New Clothes.
Wheel-O
Weather rock...
Jumping beans
Sea monkeys
I have a set..in the box of Jarts!
The original Darwin Award winner creation!! 😂
i had a pet rock but it died .
I’m just sitting here laughing, we couldn’t afford stuff like that either. We were also not that gullible
We were too poor to be gullible 😂🤘
I know I'm late on this comment, but in France they had pet bicycles. Tiny little bicycles on a leash that they would walk around Paris with. Actually I think I still have my Pet Rock somewhere around, although I think at one time I turned it into a USB Rock you could plug into your computer. Of course it didn't do anything, but it had a USB cable coming out of it.
How cheap do you have to have a pet rock?😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👌🙏🎄
Hey Flickering Box, I just found your channel today - and I am enjoying the music and comedy reactions. I would like to recommend a song by Dub FX - Flow (featuring woodnote). It has a sax solo. Need I say more?
Wait till she hears about Cabbage Patch Kids
Has she heard of parachute pants that were in style back in the 80's?
Well Alexis's mom was smarter than the average bear and didn't waste money on pet rocks. Ok Burch now introduce her to mood rings.
dont forget its companion the weather rock
Good old Spencer's Gifts
I was just a tad younger than the Pet Rock kids. I collected Starsky & Hutch & Charlie’s Angels bubble gum cards. You could buy enough candy for 50 cents to last all day!
But do you have the Emergency! Johnny and Roy action figures with the truck? 😁🤣
@@flickeringboxofficial no but I loved the show!
Wait till you explain Sea Horses to Alexis. 😂😂
lol
I never had a pet rock they weren't a thing where I lived Im 6 years older then Burch. I did know of people that bought them was it stupid yes but times were different. We had to walk 5 miles to go to school and home I miss the good old days.
I think the ‘pet rock’ was mainly targeting metropolitan kids as opposed to rural ones. We had family from the city visit from time to time. Our cousins aged 10yo or so. We took them out on the atvs & that was the most exhilarating thing for them. Their eyes filled with wonder. They weren’t accustomed to those things. They did not want to go shopping or anything like that. No bought toys, nothing. All they wanted was to take back to the city was a large ‘mountain rock’ lol. 30-40lbs. Bigger than gravel but smaller than a boulder. We all had a good natured chuckle for those types of things
Lol that's funny.
I had one lol actually my mothers, Us kids were easily entertained
I never had one. 😂😂 I was into lapidary, so this blew me away when it came out. 😂😂😂😂
Here in utah in the mid seventies someone here made the utah turd bird with stck legs and beak. Made of a real turd of some kind. Im not sure what it was but i had one. Got it for Christmas one year
I had a rock....upside my head when I was little.we threw em at each other
When they came out I was in my early teens, and even though it was a huge fad at the time, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. However the guy who came up with the idea became a millionaire from it. Some folks just had nothing better to do with their money I guess.
😂😂😂
This is very interesting arguing over things such as rocks made out of minerals and broken pieces of crystals. ? for you to ponder on since your talking about pet rocks what type of pet rock was yours made of sedimentry, ignegous or metamorphic.
A pet rock is a better investment than one of those Trump NFT trading cards.... 😅😏
