I know these are old. But man these are probly the best how to videos. Really informative on how to utilize the electronics. Something I'm trying to learn. Just learned more in 2 of your videos than i have in 6 months watching other videos.
I say if people want to learn how to do what you’re teaching they would take the time to watch a 45 minute or 1 hour video to do so. I know I would. I also watch Richard Gene the fishing machine he’s in the same area or some what close to you. He also has a lot of great crappie videos. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. Fish on my friend🎣🎣
I really enjoyed both Parts 1 & 2; I'm still learning how to use my graphs and got several really good tips from you! Thanks for taking the time to provide such educational content!
Hey Brandon, I used to fish Tims, Woods & Normandy. I lived in Estill Springs for 17 yrs. Retired so I spent a lot of time crappie fishing. Caught a bunch of fish two lbs and over biggest was a 2.48. Biggest I heard of was a 2.96 caught at Woods. Are there any three pounders in any of these lakes? Still on my bucket list. Thanks for the videos I really enjoy them! Steve Trost
Excellent presentation! So many "How to catch crappie..." videos are simply people going to a favorite familiar spot and landing fish after fish. I appreciate the map display and identifying features of where to begin seeking crappie locations. Again, great instructional video! Thank you. And doesn't Tennessee have beautiful scenic fisheries?!
How am I just learning that 1. You're a really down to earth, super nice guy! 2. You have a UA-cam channel?? Glad to have finally been able to put a face to a name AND see that you come across as a really good dude! Earned a new sub! Thanks for the really cool videos! I chase bass 97 percent, striper/hybrid 3 percent mainly in the dead heat of summer. Been thinking about going after some crappie but honestly had no idea where to start. At 42 I'm ashamed to say that I don't know much about crappie fishing 🤣
I enjoyed watching video 1& 2 and many others that you have, I like that you're a down to earth kind of guy while being very detailed. I appreciate this video from other channels more, due to taking us from the start, boat ramp to searching to catching. If you're ever in Roger's AR and want to fish a tough lake /Beaver lake I would love to go out with you and learn how you would break it down. Thanks!
New subscriber here. Brandon we need 10 new crappie fishing videos every week lol. Really enjoy your videos. Very informative and entertaining. Keep them coming.
"LIVE" definately makes fishing those tree tops much more doable. It was a crap shoot back in the day, pre side imaging. You just had to fish from tree to tree and hope to get lucky. How did we ever do it??? 😉
Definitely eliminates a ton of water and opens our eyes to a lot of things we thought we knew. Hope you’ve been catching a bunch of them buddy thanks for watching!
Thanks for showing your settings, I am new to lowrance and I am running 2 hds 12 lives and the active target. Absolutely love the crappie videos. Keep up the good work.
Exciting to watch the lure go down and also see it among the fish, have thought about purchasing live scope or active target but honestly the picture is horrible, looks like a bunch of smears, apparently you can make sense of it but I'll have to wait until the technology improves
Enjoying the videos Brandon! Keep them coming. Really cool to see an Elite Pro fishing my local lakes. Hope you have a great 22 season on the Elite series. I'll be rooting for you. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas.
Thank you for putting out such high quality video's. I'm just getting into fresh water fishing but have done saltwater all my life. I''m currently getting setup for freshwater. I've bought a couple of graph's but haven't plunged into the bow trolling motor or forward sonar yet. Heck fishing cost more than playing golf! The question is which is more "fun"/productive, the front trolling motor with a spot lock system or a forward sonar? Thanks again.
I would probably pick forward facing sonar over a trolling motor with spot lock. Heck if you have to you can anchor when you find a good spot. Thanks for watching!
Hey Brandon, great part 2. Just wondering if you have used the Lowrance Ghost TM. I noticed you use there graphs and they look great. Did not know if the TM worked better with there units or not? Thanks
I have several friends that run the ghost and they seem to like them. I don’t have any personal experience with them though. I know the ins and outs of the ultrex so I stick with it for now. Thanks for watching!
I have the same setup. I swaped from a fortrex to a ultrex. I looked at the ghost. 2 personal reasons I went with ultrex. 1 is the remote is much more advanced for trolling, it has cruise speeds so yo can set it for the exact speed and a few other options. 2 is I much prefer the one piece shaft of the ultrex for sonar wires you don't have to leave a loop halfway up the shalt to get caught on something. The ghost shaft is just like the fortrex shaft.
Awesome followup Brandon. I want to get you some of my hand tied jigs. My wife use to teach in Fayetteville at Ralph Askins and we live just south of there in Hazel Green. One day if you have some time let me know and I will bring you some. I have been tying jigs for family and friends for about 15 years but I b is starting to get out of hand if you know what I mean. Not far from you and I know you have fished it but Piercy Preist Lake is a great crappie lake. I fish it a lot along with Tim's Ford and the Cumberland. Heck I fish everywhere in the southeast. Anyway, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and being so open. Not many anglers share like you do. Take care and Merry Christmas to you and you're family. Stay safe and tight lines.
Brandon what kind of volts are you running while using your AT ? My new Live 9 shows 12.4 - 12.5 I was wondering because your screen is super clear. Great video !
Anything over 11.5 is where you want to be from what I’ve seen. Try cleaning your screen with a good screen cleaner if you haven’t. It sounds simple but it helps tremendously. Also try different color palettes. Everyone’s eyes see things a little bit different.
I like to stay back from them 30-40ft and cast to them. I find it’s easier to get them to bite when they don’t feel the presence of the boat. Thanks for watching!
Just found your videos, and will catch up watching. How’s your forward imaging mounted? I think I see it’s not on your TM because it’s spot locked and your image isn’t changing. Thanks!
@@BrandonLesterFishing so the trolling motor has to be pointed towards your fishing target. Do you have problems with this or would it be better to have it on its own dedicated assembly. Thanks for sharing!
I could see pros and cons both ways. If crappie were my primary species that I targeted I would probably look at a separate mount so you could spot lock and keep the transducer in one place. Being primarily a bass fisherman I think you can be more efficient and cover more water with it mounted to the trolling motor.
I’m assuming you were wearing the sunrise silver lenses with early morning low light conditions. My question is do you find yourself wearing them all day or swapping them out once the sun comes out ? I’ve seen a few other videos from other people saying the clarity is just as good with the sunrise silver when the sun is out just curious on your opinion. Great video by the way
I love the sunrise silver lenses in low light conditions or if I'm fishing in dark tanic water like in Florida. Any other time I'm probably wearing copper/green mirror lenses. Thanks for watching!
Just sickening!! It was fishing until the livescope type of equipment was being used!! It will do nothing but clean a lake out!! Thank goodness most fisherman aren't going to pay 1500.00 for a fishfinder. If it gets in the price range of 200.00 dollars, you better enjoy fishing right now!! Come to northwest pennsylvania and see what just regular fishermen have done to the lakes!!! Fish commission made a major mistake allowing people to catch 50 fish a day!! There are about 15 major lakes and you can hardly catch any panfish!! Too many retirees and too many campgrounds around the lakes. I could float a pickel barrel with active/live scope target and catch fish!!! Nothing more than a sonagram. Better learn to catch and eat frogs because that is all that is going to be left!!
@@fusionstar916 Exactly!! No one cares, until you can't catch anything!!! These guys aren't really fisherman, seen hundreds of these youtubers and after a couple of years they move on to something else. It is like crack for addicts!
Fishing ain't fishing anymore. Real fishermen dont use electronic equipment. We never use fish finders because we know how to fish. Using all that fancy equipment is about like hunting deer in a high fence. That's not hunting to me.
To each his own. I see what your saying, but the same could be said for many different aspects of life these days. I grew up fishing with no depth finder, I know how to find fish too, but it’s pretty fun to watch them bite my jig in real time. Thanks for watching!
I know these are old. But man these are probly the best how to videos. Really informative on how to utilize the electronics. Something I'm trying to learn. Just learned more in 2 of your videos than i have in 6 months watching other videos.
I appreciate this here. I don’t have forward facing but I have side scan just trying to figure out how to use it. You are a blessing sir.
Man, I haven't seen your whole boat, but that paint job on the front is freaking SICK!!!!
Lowrance Hook Reveal 9 here. I am still learning to use it. Your vids are helpful
It amazes me to see the advances in technology in my lifetime great video young man

I Fish that lake all the time!! This helped me a lot!! Wish I could’ve been out there while you were! So cool to see you fish this lake!!
Normandy?
Love your very informative videos! Thanks for sharing
I have never seen that many black nose at once. So cool.
I watched both parts of this very good man👍
Great video very informive! You caught some slabs too! Keep them coming Brad!

Like I said in the video use what your confident in. Thanks for watching!
How did you mount your livescope transducer?
@@bobbyyoung7836 on a pole mount. I can do spot lock and not those the brush pile with the pole mount.

How did you mount your livescan transducer?
Good video
Are you using an external mic? If so which one are you using? Thanks
Do crappie ever surface like bass
Yes it's kinda rare but they do feed on top sometimes ive seen them but not as much as bass do
How far to you normally stay from the structure your fishing seems like most videos I’ve seen people are on top and vertical jigging for crappie
