Very helpful. I purchased the ion booster at Sally’s in the little box, they did not show the option for both products. So you think I’ll be ok my roots are double out growth I’ve never used the generic before ever I usually process my hair normally without any additives with a 30vol developer I lift in about 10 minutes. Looking forward to trying this, will substitutes the 2nd phase with a very strong leave in conditioner treatment.
I’m glad you found it helpful! You should be ok, the second step is really just to seal your cuticle. Just make sure to keep checking your progress as you’re lightening before washing it off. I rinsed too early when doing mine and it wasn’t light enough, but you’ll have that extra protection from damage by using the booster. Lemme know how it all goes! Sending good vibes your way!
I bought this kit, does the booster actually bleach the hair or do i still need to buy product that actually bleach, if thats the case what was the point on buying this kit
I really wish i had realized using this product would dilute the developer so much, to be fair the text is practically illegible on the box haha its tiny. i used 30 vol, and had to bleach my hair three times to get it at a light blond, funny thing is, i didn't even use the amount of booster it said to, i overlooked that lightener needed more than regular dye lol. the parts i had dyed black previously are still slightly brassy but pretty dang light now. i left it on a good 40-60 minutes each time too, and my natural hair isn't that dark, its like a medium light brown, and i had a solid 3 inches of virgin hair xD The lady at Sallys also told me not to get 40 vol because it was too damaging, otherwise there's a chance i might have, seeing how my hair was basically black at the ends, although i might not have because i know it can be very damaging and i just got my hair healthy again after essentially killing it with box platinum kits ( which are most likely 40 vol ) she did know i was going to be using the products together, not sure if she was aware that it knocks down the level of developer tho. *shrug* buying the duel box is very budget friendly, i did the math between buying it and the little vials of the booster, you'd have to buy 8 little bottles to be the same amount as in the kit, and it would cost about $3 more. so basically you save money AND get the sealer for free. I just bought the dual kit the other day, and plan to use it with my next dye. I pre-lightened it so i could do the smokey pastels, but didn't want to do them without more protection cause i know how hard they can be on your hair. :i
