updated video for the cookie press that was my mom's.
I used this recipe this time.
Butter Cookies
1cup butter (soft)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 lg egg (room temperature)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream sugar and butter together until fluffy. add in vanilla.
in another bowl add all other ingredients. Mix, then slowly add to wet mixture.
Add into the mirro cookie press and pipe out onto an ungreased cookie sheet. They need to stick to come loose from the press.
if your batter is really thin put sheet into the refrigerator for a few min to set the batter. Mine didn't have to though.
Happy Baking!

Thanks so much for this no body else has posted this hard to find instructions
Thank you so much. I was trying to figure out how to use this thing, and now I'm going to give it a try.❤❤❤❤
Me too, I thought I was going to need a hammer 😂
Do one and a half turns.
You are darling for doing this. I appreciate you so much ~ Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much! When I found it I knew I had to share it and help other people.
I'm pretty sure that's what I was doing. But thanks for the input!
My dear grandma passed away a few months ago and left me one these among other neat items. I had no idea what this did, but now I do! Thank you much for the video.
Thanks for watching and the nice comment. I'm sure you're grandmother would love that you are using her cookie press.
My sister just sent me the one that my grandmother and mother both used when I was a kid. I'm excited to give this a shot, it's been decades since i've even seen one of these!
That's so cool! I really enjoy showing others how this thing works. Happy baking!
I just pulled out mine that I got from my mom. It’s probably from the 1950s from the look of the old box and recipe booklet. Aww, missing my mom rn, May she RIP. I’m going to try it out today. The most exciting part is that it was made in the USA! Thanks for doing this video. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
You are welcome! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
I have the exact same gizmo... that my sister bought at a garage sale. If you use the simple, single star or the one that looks like a line with bumps, you hold the gizmo at a 45 degree angle and make 3" strips, or little straws. I know some families that write their names with the star disc, but I find that very tough to do. Thanks for sharing.
That's cool, thank you for the info.
That's so cool! I had no idea. Thank you so much!
The star tip makes great size cheese straws.
That is great to know. I have never made cheese straws.
Thank you very much for showing how to use this!!!
You are so very welcome! I enjoyed making the videos.
So cool! Thank you for sharing ❤
My grandmother gifted me this press and I’m making camel cookies tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Yay! Good luck.
Chill the dough for a couple of hours..for it to stay firm and retain its shape of the template..coming out of the cookie press…
Ty for sharing. I just got a rly old one for free! Gonna try it tomorrow.
It's really fun. I looked up spritz cookie recipe today. I think it may have more flavor.
I know this is an older video but I recommend counting as you turn the handle so you can get a feel for how long it takes for the dough to come out and stick to the pan. The timing may differ from shape to shape
True. I'm just not that precise. Lol
Thanks for all the information, I truly appreciate it. I've been down sizing because I'm an empty nester and I found this cooky cutter😮. Mom has Alzheimer’s and I don't remember using this...UA-cam to the rescue😂 Great video, thanks for sharing 😊
Edited: have you used the Mirro frosting vitage gadget?
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it helped you!
No, I haven't used that gadget. I think I remember seeing my mom though.
I wish you would have shown the top I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do with the top and the long bar that is screwed in the middle
I will make a video just for your question. Look for it soon. If I have time this weekend I might go ahead and do a whole brand new video. I would like to and answer all the questions and do a recipe as well. But just look for a short video for your answer.
You turn the black handle top several times while holding the cookie press in place - watch to get enough dough to come out of the bottom so that when you lift the press, the cookie will stay on the ungreased cookie sheet.
Any tips on getting the dough to the right consistency? I have one and tried the recipe that came with it (still have the booklet) and it was all crumbly so my cookies were a mess. Lol
I'm planning on making a new video today December the 23rd and will address that problem. The recipe I use is called butter cookies. I will add the recipe in the description
When you screw it down reverse just a hair before lifting up that’s with this older lady said she had one for a long time.
Great tip! 👍 Thanks!
Hello! I just got one like yours. How do you clean it?
You take all the parts apart and put in soapy water. I let mine air dry, but you could towel dry
What temperature in Fahrenheit do they bake at and how long?
I usually make cookies at 350 and watch them. You want them to just start lightly turning tan then let them cool slightly before removing from the cookie sheet.

your cookie dough is too thick. I have an identical cookie press I got from a second hand store. I use a softer dough and the cookies turn out properly
I'm sorry all I know is it works for me.
Where is the cookie dough recepit???😳
I have made three videos. It is in the one that I misspelled Mirro.
It was the 3rd one I made. I think it says updated video of the mirror cookie press.
